The bit with Donald Herbert absolutely crushes me, because I imagine what it'd be like for the _family member who was too exhausted to stay._ You just know the family held it against them. Even if several understood, there were... definitely others who blamed that family member for "letting him die."

There was no excuse for John Landis causing the deaths of 3 people (2 of them being children) and he should have faced justice. Landis has expressed little to no remorse for his negligence and treats like it was no big deal. Landis even thanked the judge for his acquittal and threw an anniversary party over it.

17:18 Actually, pain in left arm is a male-only symptom of heart attacks. Women experience them way differently: chest pain, unusual coldness, fatigue, nausea, dizziness, shortness of breath... Chest pain and upper body pain are not the 100% telltale sign of a heart attack in women and it's easy for people to miss them

Nobody's justifying murder here, just pointing out how ridiculous the situation got; the gov was so pressed about this man wanting to... build a house on the property he bought 💀 Why were they so quick to refuse? What went wrong? We might never know (or we do, I just don't)

@@アキコ2003definitely not a excuse, but mate, if you allow me to show or side of vision, imagine being prohibited from BUILDING YOUR OWN HOUSE, ON YOUR OWN LAND, but the government allowing a F bunch of journalists and cameras on YOUR SITE just for showbiz? Nah mate, this can mess up even with a mind of a priest, imagine with the mind of an "not so well" of guy, the government for sure knew that a bad thing like this would happen, this history is just messed up.

Usually those regulations for building are in place to avoid someone damaging buried lines or pipes. You never know what might be buried and running through your land.

I believe the comedian you were referring to was Tommy Cooper, whos shtick was comedy magic...amazing comedian, kinda sad offstage life (IIRC, he was an alcoholic and I believe had a number of relationship issues but i may be remembering wrong) but yes, he died during a performance (Which I do believe was also being broadcast live on TV) and yes, the audience thought his heart attack was part of the act...because it seemed like the exact kind of shocking and outrageous setup that Tommy might do for a joke.

It was indeed a live variety performance held at Her Majesty's Theatre in London, he was one of the many acts at the time and not only was it live but this was in 1984 during a time BEFORE the creation of the 5 second delay just in case of incidents such as this. I've seen the video like 3 times but I do remember that at one point they thought he was snoring- it was actually a death rattle. If this had happened today with like Chris Rock suddenly dropping dead during a live performance there would be a 5 second delay so that they can more smoothly cut to commercial and figure out what the hell is happening and whether or not the show should continue with another act or just full on stopped if it's particularly dire. I believe most news broadcasters do this now for like police chases, in fact I remember there's a video from a Fox affiliated news channel where they had a news chopper following a police chase of an armed robber that had been going on for about half an hour. The car went off road, got stuck and the perp got out but only made 2 steps before rushing back, grabbing something from the car and then running again. He didn't make it too far until he realised he was surrounded. All throughout, the chopper reporter was commentating and right as the perp retrieved what he wanted from the car the main studio anchor started saying something like "Cut it. Back to studio. Cut it!" The perp, once he realised he was surrounded, very quickly pulled out his gun he got from the car "Cut it! Cut it! Stop the camera! Stop!" aimed at his head "CUT IT CUT IT CUT IT-!" and killed himself. The whole thing was live, NO DELAY and the anchor was rightfully pissed off. "I SAID CUT IT FOR GOD'S SAKE!" The worst thing is the camera zoomed in right as the guy put the gun up to his head and then quickly zoomed out BUT STILL DIDN'T FUCKING CUT until he pulled the trigger.

I remember when Greg Page had his heart attack in 2020 on live tv, luckily he was brought back with a defibrillator which was at the venue, he’s still alive now at time of writing

I'm aware of the proper pronunciation. I was deliberately mispronouncing it like Liz Berkley in Showgirls as a joke. I guess my reference was a little too far out of the ballpark.
