“Anyone capable of love, is capable of being saved,” Caroline of The Vampire Diaries. Darkling is capable of love. He loves his people, and he loves Alina, no matter what people say or think about it, it's a fact. So there is hope for him ... and I hope the writers take this opportunity, instead of following Leigh Bardugo's frustrating, inconsistent, and problematic writing. That would be a waste, as they have gold in their hands with such a character, and a relationship like Darklina. If they don't end up together, no big deal, but at least I demand that the relationship continue to be properly exploited (season 1 at this level is much better than in volume 1), and a redemption for Alexander!
Soulmates who because of different choices never get to be everything they could have been to each other. It breaks my fucking heart because they were DESTINED to be each other's balance. My god do I hope we get this feeling in season 2, that they are able to construct this.
