I thought the darkmoon experience was making a character, starting in a cemetery area, and going through the game world fighting bosses and eventually beating the game? (Covenant doesn't work)
+Kevin Johnson (Kevinpk501) How dude? Level 20? I started this covenant around lvl 60, nobody seems to stay in the "way of the blue" covenant at this point in the game because in 10h not even one summon, and I tried various locations and all. So, wrong lvl?
lol if I needed help on this game I would summon two players then get to the boss real fast than fight in a pvp as I want to play the game before pvping
+Zucchini is an amazing hentai artist and I encourage everyone to browse his works wish it was still good. DEUS VULT is way better now and I think Heavy Gem + Buff of choice is better than Chaos.
+UltraTien Perhaps Chaos Zwei isn't the toppest of tiers anymore, but I'd imagine any player who mains that weapon in DkS3 _as a pure statement_ is worth respecting. Unless they're bad at video games, of course.
UltraTien Unless I'm using them! I can't effing hit _anything_ in PvP! I have the highest respect to anyone who is good with an UGS in Souls PvP, it is nowhere near as easy as people think.
O yeah well i use a great axe so my first heavy attack looks like it cost all my stamina and the windup for the second heavy attack looks like im recovering
The true darkmoon experience is waiting in a ball for 6 hours to actually get a summon! Then get molested by 4 darkswords upon spawn and begin the cycle anew.
Alberto Ramos 1. Defeat the first boss before Firelink Shrine (Iudex Gundyr) to receive the Coiled Sword (he drops this). 2. Continue past the boss area to Firelink Shrine and place the Coiled Sword in the empty fire in the center of the large room. 3. Midway between the fire you just lit and the blacksmith, there is a lady sitting down you need to talk to and buy the "White Sign Soapstone" for 500 souls (This is not the same lady as the one by the fire, who you use to level up). 4. Go back to the fire in the center of Firelink Shrine and travel to "High Wall of Lothric". 5. Go to your options menu and ensure you have the following settings. Note that the password is optional, depending if you want to match with everyone or a specific friend/group. Cross-region play: Matchmaking ON Password Matching: Summon Sign Visibility: Unrestricted Launch Setting: Play Online 6. Ensure that you can see notes on the ground around you or any bloodstains. This proves you are in fact online and will be able to invite and join. If you don't see them, restart your game (you just changed your launch setting to launch you into online mode in the previous step). 7. Ensure your friends (optional) are at the same point as you and have followed the steps above. 8. Now, decide who wants to get help (summoner / host) and who wants to join ( helper / white phantom ), following the instructions for each: Summoner You need to make sure you are "embered". If you are not, go to your inventory and use an ember. You are ember if your clothing has any red embers on it, or if you have a sign inside your upper left HUD octagon-shape-icon. After this, you simply look for your friends summoning sign in the spot they placed it. Helper You do not need to be "embered". All you need to do is write your summon sign (go to inventory and use your "White Sign Soapstone") somewhere on the ground for the host to see. Discuss this with your host and find a mutually agreed spot to place it. If you just want to help anyone and are not using password matching, generally write it next to the bonfire to get picked up fastest. 9. Now the host just needs to wait at the place where the helper placed their sign until it appears. This may take a few minutes. 10. When the sign appears, simply walk up to it and summon the player.
+The Boss of Sauce Haven't found any so far. Usually the host has a few phantoms summoned, climbs ladders and waits at the top with spells, or just get generally ganked. Nothing to do with the game, it's awesome, just some people are dicks.
lately that doesn't happen much. I've been invading in archdragon as a sunbro and 9 out of 10 invasions are ganks. The hosts must be horrible if they summon for that boss.
How was that "well put" By most people he must mean people like him than cant win without a Dark Sword or spamming sorcery. The evidence is presented in one of the first clips of the video, one handing a Zwei being super defensive to the point where he almost gets guardbroken, what the heck is the point of having hyper armor if youre going to waste it one handing and hiding behind a shield.
Something I think should be a thing, is that Darkmoons should get the Blue Eye Orb and when you use it, it summons you to the world of someone who has sinned, or it summons you into the world of someone who is being invaded. Because the more surprising thing to me was that he got summoned, not that there were 9 people in this fight.
Apeacrobat01320 There's no blue eye orb either. And farming the silver knights would probably make me go insane due to the low drop chance. I'm just hoping they'll make some changes in the next update.
Can someone tell me why some of you are saying Dark Sword R2 is good or even useful in PVP? It doesn't hit shit and Dark Sword R1 is braindead strong, almost Havelstoc braindead.
+Gaming Wizard Can you tell me why Dark Sword R2 is useful at all in PvP? I see no reason to R2 with that weapon like you would with a UGS or Hammer. Not even useful for Okizeme
Mepp Yeah which is why I'm all ???? at the people asking why I R2'd with Zweihander but not Dark Sword. Is there something I'm missing here? Does Dark Sword R2 have crazy stamina damage on block or something?
+Lincoln 007 There's some graphical bugs and the animations don't seem that fluid too. I trust they'll update and fix most of it.. Especially since they want to sell dlc
+BurgerPwner yea, i cant use cracked red eye orbs to invade, only red sign soap stone, i joined watchdogs, didnt do anything at all, and i joined blue sentinels to help people defeat invaders, never got summoned even once in like 10 houers of play, but doing arena after puntiff is fun as hell, just too many fight clubs, i want pale tungs got damn, not figting red phantoms till i die...
That was one hell of a clusterfuck R1 party. Funny to see the host's squad outnumbered for once. lol Though so many guard breaks, and not one riposte. Q.Q
***** currently at anor londo pvping in the aldrich covenant with the dancer set, its incredibly get one hit with the L1 attack you will stunlock the guy for a second L1 and the hit range is huge
+LoneWolve wait, really? I thought Darkmoons are summoned every time there's invader? Isn't it Blue Sentinels that helps those from the Way of the Blue?
They should make it so DM cov is also a territorial cov. like if people get invaded by AF they should be summoned in to help even if they arent in the WOTB cov. I've had my DM sign on for so long and haven't got summoned once
Gotta be honest, in dark souls 3 during invasions i usually heal because the invader keeps healing and from wants us to heal like that so they changed how estus worked. I think it is much more enjoyable this way where duels become more strategic and funner. Altough i do not heal in any other case. I never healed in dark souls 2 and 1 pvp. At least in 1v1 s.
+taj parker Not nearly as bad as Bloodborne at least. Imo I prefer Dark Souls 2 style where damage is so high and chugging is so slow that its irrelevant.
"Game over yeaaaaaaa!" great touch. I know how you feel right there man, except I was a red spirit invading a person who summoned as many phantoms as he could, and when one died he would replace it with another.
+Riolu I tried to invade Anor Londo but then I felt bad and BC'd away because it's too brutal of an area, after clapping to the host for getting past the archers. I should be doing that in Irithyll dungeon. That would be cruel.
+Funni Skele Its not a sin system in this game for darkmoon blades or blue sentinels. Only way to get summoned to help a host is if they have the way of blue covenant item on.
+CO2Tenor Try the smoldering lake at lvl 60 without ever having any weapons higher than +4. I took the covenant symbol off because constantly getting summoned was preventing me from making progress in the level. I got 30 ears within a few hours.
it is a pretty complex system now days what you have to do to be a pvp god is either get estoc or dark sword and time each r1 perfectly after another also known as spam the shit out of that r1
Unless they're A) laggy as hell or B) you're invading and all of the summons and the host have Dark Swords. Have fun partying three-four people at once.
Half the people complaining about R1 spam are either stream monsters that don't own the game or people that lose constantly in invasions cause they try using some garbage shit like Dragonslayer Greataxe with Grasscrest Shield or Katanas.
+Pancotta Fugo You seem like you're projecting a bit. People talk about R1 spam because it usually means you're trash, people like that are easy to beat, but it doesn't make them any less bad for spamming it. Also, from the second half of your comment, I'm gonna assume you tried using those things but you get shit on while using them.
How did you get summoned? I've been summoned twice, once into a fight club and once into the giant pit in the dungeon with the lift not active, I was stuck in there fighting rats until the host died. I wish I could just invade as a Dark Moon but unless you luck out and beat an aldrich faithful, you won't get a Moon item, just a pale tongue.
+Severed Head(Phones) True, I was thinking that the game broke or something, letting in 9 at once. Still I have never seen this before. pretty impressive.
Jesus dude, how is your R1 button not broken at this point? Seriously, how does anyone have fun constantly hitting the same button with a cheap ass sword and then blocking. How in the hell is spamming R1 aa an attack fun at all?!
Well if it's a cluster fuck like this then fuck it, sometimes I also r1 spam in invasions, because when there is 2 fuckbois trying to rape my asshole I'm not going for elegance, I'm going for the kill, and if that means r1 spamming a bit, fuck it.
so i realize this is a noob question but i just got to this area and i have no idea how to participate in these mass battles? If i get invaded its by one person i'm kinda confused, and the darkmoon sign never seems to summon me..
FROM Completely killed Darkmoon Blades in Dks3. Let's make an old covenant have new standards that share with another covenant that never works, so we can have 3 useless covenants... I remember a time where Darkmoon Blades invaded the worlds of the guilty, not fight the Blue Sentinels for their job, way to ruin my favorite covenant FROM, bravo.
Who cares? Uhh, people who like the covenant? Blades of The Darkmoon was my favorite covenant in DS1, they actually had a purpose you know, invade players who committed sinful acts. Now they are literally just Blue Sentinels, they even share the same item to rank up, they killed an old covenant by making it exactly the same as another. And Mound Makers makes no sense either, they literally do the exact same thing as the Rosaria's Fingers just with a different phantom color and rewards. and like SarinCrow said, you literally get nothing for beating phantoms you summon except for a small amount of souls and the sheer enjoyment of PvP. They half assed the covenants AGAIN in this game just like they did with DS2.
+Sarincrow The silver knights actually drop The Proof of Concord item required to increase your rank in the covenant, drop rate is rare though. It's just more fun to do online.
ArmoredCode Well, I can only speak for myself and havent seen this sword being used much in PvP at all tbh. I am not even sure if I ever saw someone using it^^, for PvE this sword is extremely powerfull but I dont think its the best for PvP.
+ArmoredCode aweeee soooo cute :) i like listening to the bambies complain :) maybe if you sprinkle enough water on one it will grow up to GIT GUD , the darkblade isnt even that good, especially not when compared to other weapons similer that allow for a much more versatile and high damage out put with low stats
If you played at 150 vs 150 its still far better...think most ohkos came from over levelling and at least the good weapons were cool not a frikkin straight sword(these in general)that trades a ugs and a homing rocket rapier. While I didn't like using magic, it wasn't redundant like now, Not being able to guard break a turtle with slow reactions and Havel shield isn't great either. Finding the damage per swing between a straight sword and GS negligible.
Ignite Blade Yeah I played 150 and it was OHKOs, 2HKOs, or stunlock city. Havelyn, Duel Drakes, GRS, there's all sorts of shenanigans, but it was great cause just about everything was viable in DaS2
This is too fucking badass. Just so you know it got enough views to be suggested to me by youtube for randomly checking Dark Souls videos after finally starting to play DS1 on PC. I had Demons Souls on Launch Day. Dark Souls was sitting on Steam until patches and mod fixes. It's too damn good.
How to use the Dark Sword: equip ring of favor+pontiffs right eye+lloyds ring+magic clutch ring, buff (dmb/cmw), roll, r1 r1 r1 r1 r1 r1 r1 r1 r1 point down, spam dung stalks over victim.
Can somebody tell me how some people get around 4 red phantoms simultaneously for fight clubs? I tried to organize one but i can only summon two with the dried fingers :(
Man I would LOVE to get summoned as a blue one of these days... been wandering around with the covenant equipped for like 20 hours and nothing. Cuz mayhem like this looks like a blast!
+Batwing Blizzard SPOILER ALERT Darkmoon-affiliated NPCs don't exactly receive good press either. In Dark Souls 1 they are guided by a metrosexual deity that keeps everything in check with illusions and when confornted keeps running away, in the 2nd one there isn't one and in the 3rd the the woman that gives you the Darkmoon-related gesture always needs your help to do anything. That's what you get for siding with Gwyn's family, I guess
Because i didnt check the wiki till recently and my lack of paying attention I thought maybe you had to invade people to earn them (similarly to how sunbros can invade to get medals). I was in that area for maybe 2 hours and not once was i summoned. The summon rate is so little I didn't even realize thats how the covenant worked. I want the blue eye orb back....
lol, reminds me of this one time where I was summoned to the same place, and took on 3 invaders. I helped take out one, but these two guys kept on coming. I led them out, and as the host ran away, I had to hold them off. I switched to my greatsword, and coincidentally the invader had the same thing (We were both cosplaying Abyss Watchers) so it was pretty cool. I almost got killed until the host came in, and when we delivered the final blow, I died, but got the concords.
1.He got invaded, he didn't summon them. 2.Have you killed the boss yet? because if the boss of the area is dead you can only summon a max of 2 dark spirits with the dried finger, pretty stupid but it's how it works
I was in that swamp area and had used a dried finger, and got invaded by 2 red phantoms back to back for like 20 minutes. I couldn't leave the bonfire because everytime I killed one, another invaded. Me and my two mates fought the same guy four times in a row.
Caleb Carper I wish I had it recorded. I really do. it was epic and intense. I had a good 30,000 souls before all was said and done and I finally died.
What's the setup for getting this many? Guessing it goes like this: - Way of The Blue host uses Finger in one of the "defended" areas - Summons 1 white and one purple - 3 area defenders show up - 2 invaders show up - Darkmoon shows up to defend you ?
