Disguised Toast tries out the POWER of THE DARKNESS against a Cube Lock. But this game isn't going to go the way he thinks... Subscribe to Disguised Toast 2: / @disguisedtoast2 Edited by: / liffeh02 Kobolds and Catacombs Gameplay
I was playing a dungeon run, with double battlecry. Tortollan forager gave me the darkness which shuffled 6 candles in the boss' deck. When he was summoned he tried to brawl him out and the darkness came through. :D
im waiting for a turn 2 activated darkness game Turn 1 : Innervate, Innervate, Coin, Darkness (can also be counterfeit coin) opponent draws all 3 candles on his turn Turn 2 : 20/20 hit face Turn 3 : Enemy Concedes
andrejoss475 ive done it haha. Not the same way tho. Was warlock played darkness on turn 4. He had bad luck and got all three candles on his turn. On turn six i had my 20/20
Okay. Lets talk chances. The chance of you going second for the coin: 50% The chance of you getting Darkness, Plus both Innervates by your first turn: 1.5708% (Approx) The chance of your opponent drawing three candles in a row on turn two: 0.0279% The Total chance of this all happening: 0.0002191266% Lets say you can Find and play and finish one game every five minutes. It should only take you 2281785 Minutes 38029 Hours 1584 Days 226 Weeks OR 18.863 Months (All times except this rounded down) Good luck!
This deck is the most "evil" themed deck i have seen XD: Demons, Satanist Gangsters/Cultists, Possessed mindless Minions, Living ebodyments of Darknes and Lovecraftian Oldgods.
Hell, you could be a vegetable and still "watch" Rick and Morty. I would also like to remind everybody that Rick and Morty is only really a beginner's course philosophy (a very entertaining one, but still just a beginning.)
Asianguyoftoday but I came to say hello to darkness, my old friend. I've come to talk to him again. I can't do that if the candles get erased from existence
well. i'd imagine the idea is to play them in the other order. where you destroy their deck, and then shuffle 3 candles into their non-existent deck that they draw immediately. not that it's a very reliable plan
Hey Toast, idk where to post stuff like this, so I'm doing it here. I just used Elixir of Purity (divine shield) on my 1/5 taunt/divine shield minion and my opponent silenced it with ironbeak owl and the minion kept the divine shield. Do you think this is a bug, or a special interaction with how the spell works?
i feel like a deck with The Darkness, cold light seers, that card that turns minions in your hand into a selected minion on the field, and something to bounce the cold lights back and forth, and a lot of draw and stall. the goal, get a darkness on the field, replace non-coldlights with darkness, and then summon several to put a lot of candles into the enemy's deck, then coldlight spam to for him to draw candles quickly. i don't know how well it would work.
This card is way more catered towards Shaman imo Murmuring elemental allows 6 candles to be shuffled into the deck, improving odds greatly, especially in late game, and allows for the use of a sapphire spellstone to get up to 4 awakened darknesses (1st one awakened with 3 candles, play spellstone, get 3 dormant ones, they awaken with the other 3 candles) Coldlight Oracle also synergizes well with murloc shaman and gives your opponent more chance to draw candles Or totem shaman can feed off of the murmuring elementals and use them on windshear stormcaller for double al'akir summons
IceArro watch out when using the oracle, since 1 candle used before copy might screw it up. Also the sooner the darkness is awakened, (assuming it is after turn 5 or so), the more chances that the opponent has not used his removals yet. That being said, it might be situational but it still is a pretty good idea. I was thinking about the shaman too but didn't think about the copies
I learned the hard way with a rogue darkness deck that candles can be destroyed if their hands are full when I was spamming Oracle, next time I won't try to blow my load too fast
The darkness is supposed to go dormant when summoned so you can't cheese it out, and because it awakening doesn't give it any enchantments for faceless to copy it just summons normally and goes dark. It also only puts candles in the opponents deck through battlecry, so if it gets summoned by any means other than play it is useless if you don't shuffle candles into the opponents deck with another one.
mike the card says it stays dormant untill youre opponent draws three candles. The battlecry is the shuffle thing. The dormant thing is like spellpower, but you can't do stuff about it cause dormant means its immune against anything. Thats my interpretation, but i know that the transition from a 20/20 on the card directly to a dormant minion reminds of a battlecry even if it is a permanent effect.
That’s... not how that should work. Faceless copies a minion in its current form. Any buffs or damage copy over as well. Faceless should copy darkness as active.
the issue is that darkness' awakening isn't an "effect" in the normal hearthstone sense. there is no condition to copy with the way the card functions(they likely made it this way to reduce instances of "cheating" this overstated card out, and getting it off of random effects, hard to say for certain). regardless, there is nothing to copy in terms of awakening, so copy effects give you a butt-standard darkness, starting dormant, with no candle-shuffle battlecry.
personally i feel the card's text should be adjusted to make the behavior clear, rather than changing that behavior. i don't even own the card, but i feel it is better this way than it would be changed, and i see no necessary reason to change it's coding if "consistency" is the only issue
Disguised toast: Makes a low energy Fairly Odd Parents reference All of youtube: YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
I actually did something hilariously overkill to an opponent recently with that. Marin=Goblet=X5 "The Darkness" with me managing get four them on board. My opponent was NOT happy!
What?! 4 Mana 7/7 is evolving!! *Cue Evolving Music* Ta-Daah! Your 4 Mana 7/7 evolved into a 4 Mana 20/20! Summary: 4 Mana 20/20 Ability : Slow Start *Me Inside* : God Fucking Damn it!
That Faceless interaction is unfair though.....why would it not become an exact copy of the minion in its current state? It also copies undefined Deathrattles like for example Carnivorous Cubes....
Ben Brode: Guys there is clearly a lot of disagreement when it comes to Flamewreathed Faceless. Distant Chattering: Yeah. Yes I agree. You're right! Ben Brode: Here's the solution, we add a 4 Mana 20/20 that is a neutral card. Distant Chattering: What? You ok Ben? Rip Blizzard 2018
Why don't Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound's text written as "At the end of your turn, Recruit a minion" and Dragonhatcher's text written as "At the end of your turn, Recruit a dragon"?
Rage Unbound was added about 6 expansions ago(pretty long time for this game), during "whispers of the old gods". the term "recruit" is a keyword added during this latest expansion, which is why only "kobolds and catacombs" cards are using that wording. Blizzard could go back and adjust the text on Y'Shaarj, but they seem to not find it important enough, so they don't
Flamewreath Faceless(4 mana 7/7) *Upgrade* The Storm Guardian(5 mana 10/10) *Fuck go back* The Darkness(4 mana 20/20) *I SAID GO BACK* The Ancient One(9 mana 30/30) *JESUS WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!*
16:42 Blackcrystal kills the voidlord, hellfire destroys the 1/3s, even though it kills your own 3/3 the hellfire does 3 damage toface anway. The 4/4 (now 4/1) hits face, and hero power and darkness ends the game. You had lethal anyway.
TheHorseTermite it contributes to both. Doesn't matter how much darknesses, as long as a candle is drawn, it counts for any darkness. (I had this interaction when i played dungeon run and had 2 darknesses) In that case, since there are 6 candles, your odds of awakening the darkness is increased
both. if you were to simulacrum a darkness in hand, play them both, (shuffling 6 candles into your enemy's deck): both darkness would awaken simultaneously, on the drawing of the third candle. the remaining three would then be irrelevant, if you were curious about that as well
I'm about to rant. sorry. absolutely agreed. nobody picked up on this back in KotFT, because warlock as a whole was bad, but Bloodreaver Guldan is by far the most powerful DK. probably too powerful. it makes sense that it's the most expensive when it is a huge gameswinging effect similar to n'zoth, COMBINED with the best DK hero power. comparing it to all the similar DK powers, Warlock gets 3 damage anywhere he wants, and +3 health. (the sole fact that warlock benefits the most from healing, and that they get the most versatile ping in the game already makes it clear it's too strong) Druid gets a cheaper DK, with a weaker board swing, and their hero power is the most similar. 3 damage OR 3 health(armor). keep in mind that druid must punch things to deal that 3 damage though, making it weaker against minions, against freeze, and against taunt. and technically stronger against "can't be targeted"(as if it matters). Priest, while recently the most problematic thanks to raza, isn't actually that bad. 8 mana(cheap enough for an instant power), the battlecry is conditional removal, not board presence. and when their hero power isn't free... it's fairly reasonable, being a 2 damage ping that might get used 0-3 times in most cases? strong yes, but they also sacrifice their healing for the swap. (fuck priest btw) Mage gets a DK that may as well just cost 10. good luck having a way to spend that final mana crystal. they also get the weakest board impact compared to the previous DKs mentioned. along with a near identical hero power to their original, 1 damage. sure, if they kill a minion with it they can get another water elemental, but in the current meta it is near impossible to get any value out of that effect and sometimes even the the elementals themselves. elemental synergy as a whole is too weak to support a control archetype where you want Frostlich Jaina in the first place, as well as not providing any clear win condition to actually win you games(you just struggle until you die). so ultimately, mage has a DK as expensive as warlocks, that provides a laughably worse board presence, and a laughably worse hero power that not only deals minimal damage compared to a whopping 3, but also doesn't even guarantee you any healing compared to guldan.(also i'd like to acknowledge the worthlessness of jaina's new hp in controlvcontrol. druid, priest, warrior, warlock, and even opponent mages with a DK card can make it almost impossible to utilize the effect of icy touch, as they consistently deny almost any chance of a pingable target with their more oppressive hero powers after transforming, and they often just have removal for the few elementals you barely manage to create) Guldan is stronger, more reliable, it provides an insane amount of value for it's class, it's easier to build a deck around, and is probably one of the only DK cards that would ever need to see a nerf especially if it becomes more oppressive in the future (although i have considered a world where shadowreaper cost 9 mana)
friend was using the darkness in a mill rogue deck, was really good late game with valeera the hollow, play two darkness late game in one turn and most of there deck is candles in the late game already
Thats not true. You can fuck up a Bif Spell Mages interaction with it completely. Also Big Spell Priest. It acts as a counter for those: I will certainly draw high cost spells reveal cards.... Also it will provide a 20/20 after a time.
It actually won't impact a big spell mage very much. the 20/20 body is more impactful than the candles stuffed in their deck. Dragon's Fury is really good, and it would still be good in the rare case where it pulls a candle and 5-mana flamestrikes everything. raven familiar probably isn't going to draw them the candle, even if it pulls it, assuming you run any spells of 4-mana or higher. and if raven familiar does happen to pull a candle AND draw it, the mage still gets to draw another card after it resolves because that's what autocast spells do. and spiteful summoner is still decent with a random 4-drop not to mention if you happen to run into a mage with deck of wonders, they're already naturally countering your three 4-cost sabotage with many 5-cost scrolls.
I would not call the 5-cost scrolls a "counter" as they are not effectively cards, just like the candles and other "cast this and draw a card" cards. and in some cases the scrolls can actually help draw candles if they cast extra card draw.
they are effectively a counter in the sense that they help to improve a consistent 5+ dragon's fury, if you run secrets etc, or if you've been candled. and even if you do happen to draw the candles off of random spells like shield block, or shiv, you still get a normal card from your deck, and hard removal isn't exactly difficult for mage after it awakens.
