Frankie is a legend. So pleased to hear a different vocalist. Justin is an exceptional talent but it nice to hear different voices in lead. So pleased they did this.
This album is so good that even the songs that were left out could've been released as singles in any of their albums (I honestly can't believe "Million Dollar Strong" didn't make it to the album since it's SO GOOD!).
Frankie Poullain actually has a damn decent voice in his own right, I hope that The Darkness allow him to sing more songs on a future album, because this is actually one of my favorite songs off of The Last of Our Kind. That's saying something because I love every song on this album, and that's saying doubly something else because I used to hate The Darkness for the longest time. Such an incredible album from start to finish and this track is the cherry on top of the delicious sundae.
The first time I heard this, I wasn't so sure about it. It took me aback in that Justin doesn't sing it (other than some backup vocals). The second time, it clicked and made me wonder if it's not the best song on the album....and that's saying something, considering that this is such a tremendous record. Frankie's vocals are great, and they suit the 80's power ballad thing goin' on here. The chorus is massive.
newportmeister definitely one of them for sure, a surprise gem if I say so myself. Frankie Poullain actually has a solid singing voice in his own right, and the chorus? Uplifting! Love this song!
I've never been that much of a fan of your newer stuff but I've found after a few listens it's growing on me. I will never be able to think of this song without thinking of a friend that was sadly lost a few months back. Aimee asked for an extract of the chorus to be read at her funeral, it was very emotional. Since then I've really grown to love this song. I know you're unlikely to read this but if you happen to be playing this song during your set list in Glasgow later this month, could you please, please dedicate it to Aimee. Thank you.
Is this the only song he has sang for The Darkness. Great voice and what a shame he hasn't sung previously if that's the case. I actually thought before I knew who was singing that it must be Roger's son because I can hear his Dad's voice in this song. Spooky.
Emily recorded the drums on every track on this album with the exception of I Am Santa (Rufus recorded the drum parts for that song). Ed was not involved in this album at all (he left in 2014).
Okay this reminds me so bad of something but I have no idea what? Especially the 'a diamond is only....getting so lonely' but I can't place it. Maybe it's just Frankie's voice idk
