I am absolutely in love with The Darkness. Their music is inexplicably, incredibly incredible. I asked my wife (who is not really a music fanatic), "How would you describe their music?" She paused and answered, "It's...familiar, which it's strange because it is nothing like anything I ever heard." Brilliant!!! I think that is why they have achieved legendary status. There is something so familiar and so unique about their music. It's like falling in love with someone. There is something so familiar about them even though you hardly know them. You just want to know them more and more and your loves grows with every song. I guess you could say I'm a fan.
They are to rock -n- roll what the Beastie Boys were to rap...extremetly talented and great at their respective craft, while not taking themselves too seriously. A rare combination.
Absolute genius - the humour, the talent, the artistry, the musicianship, the inspiration, and it works on multiple levels as well as being pure FUN and entertaining, it's thought-provoking too. Seems like every other band forgot how to do this in the past few decades. The Darkness still stand for the joy of music.
These guys are probably the greatest band ever when you look at their journey and see how they treat their fans. They are totally 100 percent people persons and the music they deliver is pure unadulterated sexy fun! Thank you goes out to THE DARKNESS for saving rock n roll!!
Probably the greatest band ever….? Er well okay then. I tend to judge a band on their music and not how they treat their fans! Crazy I know. I love The Darkness but not anywhere near the greatest band ever. Have you heard of the Beatles? They’re rather good…
Yeah, when a computer make 99,8 % of all music the last 50 or more years, all you should do is to LOL! Think about the real meaning with Epic, Sony, Virgin Records! And you all end up with that the only musician are coverartist.
@@davidkay1948 Yeah, dude. You've missed a lot of their music if you think this'll only be their third album. Check out their wikipedia page or something.
@@ethansloan well I fell out of their music after the second albumthey sounded lot like 70s hard rock so I kinda lost interest I don't mind inspiration it they were just too simular
Yep, so many nods to Queen songs, videos, side projects and album covers. I still think it's awesome that RT's son is now their drummer, because they've always worn their Queen influences on their sleeve and now it's sort of come full circle. Absolutely love it 🥰
What did I just hear? It was like some crazy musical journey or something into another realm lol So many different changes in this song…freaking awesome!
Dude... I've just realized that opening lead guitar riff is 87% pure John William's Slave Children's Crusade theme for Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom OST!!!
YOU GUYS ARE F***ING EPIC! Both me and my new band mate in the new rock band we've founded are huge fans! \m/ We hope to be walking the same stages you guys has some day! \m/ Rock ON from Denmark and Serbia!
Sheer bloody genius. They never let you down. Everything is top draw quality stuff, never put a foot wrong and are so prolific. How many albums in how many years? Do they ever have any time off? Keep on rockin' ............................. oh and Thank you for being my kids first ever gig. You did not let them down and we even got a download of it for them to keep forever. Bloody amazing!!!!
Man, you guys have really got it in the bag. I'm really grateful that you didn't stop at Permission to Land. Aside from the brilliant satire and choice of words there is so much tonal nuance and head nodding to musical greats that just isn't lost on me. In a sea of complete and utter societal tripe you guys make me want to pick up a guitar again.
There's not many bands that rock as hard as you guys do that have also stayed together for 2 decades and more. Your band and your names will be remembered as one of the greats in music history. Love you guys, rock on.
As soon as I heard the title Motorheart, I thought of Motörhead. Apparently that was part of the plan, as those Lemmy cartoons show. Also, the speed-metal bridge is very Motörheadesque.
A strong new track from the new album!! I like it already!! I've loved The Darkness for many many years now, they never disappoint playing live, and every time I think they can't possibly continue producing such great rock, they just keep smashing it with another great album. Just one thing though, that guitar riff does sound a bit like "Parade of the Slave Children" from Indiana Jones doesn't it?
Their concert in Sydney last year was the last place we'd before the first lockdown. Everything about the darkness reminds me of covid. But I guess it makes them more memorable
They from my hometown!!( Great Yarmouth) remember seeing them at Yarmouth marina when they first became popular and had there homecoming show... absolutely awesome!!
Hi Guys, I always said the Darkness was refreshing and reminded me of the old Queen (songs). With this one you went a bit further though, the riff’s from ‘stone cold crazy’ off of ‘Sheer Heart Attack’ (1974), as you will know… ;D
Justin and dan are amazing guitar players...they are a national treasure imo...if these guys were around in the late seventies they would be up there with any shit hot rock band 🤘
I wasn't a big fan of these guys when I was a teenager but this song fucking slams! Really catchy and I can hear some sabbath and foo fighters influence in there 😎 fair play justin! Loving this so far! No disrespect meant by the younger self, I was just into punk back then. Arrogant with spikey hair! Now I'm just arrogant with no hair.. 😂
From the depths of Covid lockdown, emerge : The Darkness = with another Classic Song. Really nice production on this song. So, who says you have to be in the same room to make something great. Sometimes a change will do you good., and it sure sounds like it did.
id urge any every lover of live music to go and see the darkness, they where superb.even though they where fun they where tight and there sound was spot on .
