So, true. I recommend using three layers of protection. For example, use RF tape to wrap it around the device of your choosing, after that put the device in a Faraday bag and then a Faraday cage. This way it would be hard to be tracked. They have to bypass three layers of thick protection.

Aluminum, a conductive material, is a fantastic option. However, the thickness of the foil, distance from the transmitter, and a million other variables affect the efficacy of a faraday cage, just like any other antenna, regardless of material.

Open hardware like RISC-V could mitigate things like Intel ME and other hardware based backdoors, but I haven't seen evidence of those being used to deanonimize people yet.

If you're a buyer, anything should be fine. If you're a seller, you should probably go with any intel chips where the ME can be disabled. As Mental Outlaw said, it's never officially been used to nab somebody... but of course if I were a government I wouldn't want my backdoors to be published in court documents so...
