The sacrifice of the Date lords brother and his army will not be forgotten, for they awoke a sleeping giant. He fought to the last man and did not give up even when heavily outnumbered, and truly, he died a true samurai, one who would be remembered for eternity. This poem, was written in his honor. Date Yoshinori, oh he fights on this day, he will not dare to lead his men astray, he knows full well there is no time to parlay, all that can be done is to defend the city, even outnumbered to his dismay. He and his men fought bravely, valiantly, and were precise, all month his wife wept when he heard of his demise, for he did not die alone, surrounded by his men, fighting until his last breath with his katana in hand. The battle is worthy of song, even if it was a loss, this battle shall live on, always in their hearts. Date Yoshinori, and his no-dachi samurai, made the enemy tremble in fear when they yelled their battle cry! No longer are they men, nay, they have achieved victory, and so always in japan, they shall be known as the men who defended their major city, and always in this land, no longer were they bland, their swords blunted, their armor beat, yet their willpower alone has proven so great a feat. Date Yoshinori and his men live on, even if they lost their lives, they defended this city, and left their own fates up to decide. And so, the rage of the Date rises above and not in vain, all japan shall learn never to resist the date, lest they wish to feel true PAIN. -In loving memory of Date Yoshinori and his elite retinue of samurai, their sacrifice gave birth to an empire.

Siege battles are my favorite The enemy is attacking you? Have your melee infantry guard the perimeter walls while you rain arrows and gunfire from the battlements You're attacking them? Shell them into oblivion with Mangonels (or Cannons/fire rockets ext) and get hundreds of kills, if not thousands, while they sit there and take it before storming the gates for an easy win

One thing I always loved about this game is the amount of colour on display, which is helped by the back flags which I’ve always loved, just by looking at the factions colours you can tell instantly whose fighting who. This is also helped by the fact that the colour combinations are swell, yellow and purple are great together on Samurai. It’s also great because you can tell the one’s who have dignity from the ones who don’t, those pink dudes... just... have some self respect.

Some info about Date Masamune for you all. Quite famously he had only one eye, but there's multiple theories as to why. Some sources say that as a child he had a mild case of smallpox which attacked his right eye, causing him to lose his sight after which is may have been removed as a precaution. Others say it was removed due to injury or some other event. Either way, it lead to his nickname of "Dokuganryuu", or "The One Eyed Dragon". Unfortunately for him, and the Date clan, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the successor to Oda Nobunaga in the campaign to unite Japan, was on the warpath and demanding obedience. Masamune agreed, if only because Hideyoshi's brand of diplomacy was "Give me what I want or I stab you". He did see greater success under Tokugawa Ieyasu though. Masamune was also a big patron of art and greatly encouraged western foreigners to visit his land, including quite a few Christian missionaries. One of his more interesting projects was the construction of the 'Date Maru', which was a Japanese built ship using western designs. Masamune sent the ship on a good will visit to Rome along with a letter to the Pope, which still exists today in the Vatican archives. Some of the people sent on this voyage also opted to stay in the west and their decendants are alive today! They live in Spain I think? Lastly for Sengoku Basara fans. The rivalry between Date Masamune and Sanada Yukimura is somewhat based on reality. In fact, when Masamune received word that Yukimura had been killed in battle, he insisted that his family move to Date lands where they were treated like extended Date family. I believe one of Yukimura's daughters ended up marrying one of Masamune's sons, actually.

Thanks to that the surviving members of the Sanada clan and all of their retainers were able to find refuge in the Katakura clan. The Katakura crest was even changed to show the 6 coin symbol of the Sanada. Sanada Daihachi (Yukimura's second son) was adopted by Katakura Kagetsuna, who was renamed Katakura Morinobu. The story does have a happy ending, as the Sanada clan name was restored generations later, to his line.

Bruh Date is so OP in the late game I had an army with only 9 infantry units 6 were date no dachi samurai and I simply Banzai’d 15 units of yari ashigaru and the enemy instantly shattered Edit: I probably won because of flaming whistling monk arrows

@@Pilps I mean the easiest way to implement the idea would be to host a multiplayer campaign with some people of around the same skill level and see what happens. Given that everyone would agree to use the main idea you have previously used in one of the * insert faction here * experience videos for their respective factions. It definitely would result in an interesting battle royale if anything. Although I am not entirely sure as to what the logistics of that idea would be let alone how to schedule it or if you could find enough players. Nonetheless food for thought, I guess. Either way I am happy to see any and all content as the quality and meminess is pretty freaking good imo. :D

every time you upload a 'The (insert Clan name here) Experience', it makes me play shogun 2 again with the same faction as the video you make. you always make me miss playing shogun 2. if you're wondering why I keep stopping, it's because I'm not good at shogun 2, and I lose motivation when I mess up. This was from the bottom of his heart, to give them the strength to resist till the end, for he knew no general could hope to bring victory from this. The enemy came. Kasal. Their numbers seemingly unending. Arrows flew into the horde, slaying many, yet more came. The gates were beaten down, the walls scaled, more Kasal dead. More still came. His men, no, his brothers in arms fought with more ferocity with each wall lost, determined to take as many down with them. But even courage had its limits as they joined the fallen on the blood soaked fields of the burning castle. Soon Yoshinori himself drew his blade, forged by the clan's master blacksmith. It tasted flesh again and again, a small hill of corpses surrounding his steed, until it was felled by an arrow. He fought even as his body burned from fatigue, even as his armour was pierced by an arrow, even as his bodyguards fell around him, he fought on. But even he, like his men, had his limit. An ashigaru, likely not much different then the ones he lead mere minutes ago, ran him through with his spear, and he too fell. Ignoring his own speech, his last thoughts drifted to family and home. How he wish he could see it again. He prayed that his wife would forgive him for breaking his promise to return home. He would never get to see his son, who she said looked just like him. When his brother's army retook the castle mere days later, they found his body surrounded by friend and foe. Yet despite his undoubtedly painful wounds, his face was without stress or fear.
