I actually had success on Hinge. I met my boyfriend there, and we're still together seven months later. However, the dating app world is a shit show. A complete dumpster fire. I got divorced in 2018 and it took me until late 2021 to actually find someone I had a physical, emotional and mental attraction to. I did go on a bunch of first dates with guys I matched on the apps, and it was fine. But that's the thing, there was no spark there. So I just would tell myself to have a good evening and just make a new friend. It's a jungle out there. But I just kept at it. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. And both are OK.
In 10 years, every single dating app and social app that I've used, I've only talked to 3 people (didn't go anywhere, but still) that were not either a bot, scammer, or prostitute. I've given up on trying to be social, let alone actually dating.
totally agree with the "stalker" tips, search for their name being mentioned AND a profile. They can have a fake profile but they won't be totally invisible🙃
Such a dope conversation as always🌻. I honestly think I should have a degree in all things "Dating App", not because I'm good at it but because it has put me through the wringer, and reparations are necessary. That being said, ultimately I think online dating is fun and can get you out of your comfort zone. I met the only person I've ever loved (romantically) on Tinder, so I'll always have some faith in online dating as a process. Also, I get some really fun stories and an opportunity to laugh at men who have never once thought about the things they're saying because stg they'll just spew literal trash🤭
