A4s and Ayits were the absolute bane of my existence when playing the mig 15 in ARB. Getting behind them was piss easy, but the moment you did, they would just mash A/D, and their roll rate is insanely fast, meanwhile the MiG has one of the worst roll rates ever, so literally just by rolling in different directions theyd be totally impossible to hit and youd overshoot. Pain.
Thanks for the vid Aoeilaoplae, always fun to see arcade done right. I was just wondering if you’d have any for using the skyflash or SRAAM missiles in the British tech tree, since they’re what I’m currently relying on in my air grind.
@@Lucarionape I haven't played the FGR.2 specifically, but it's just a pretty standard copy-paste F-4 Phantom. There's like a dozen slightly different Phantom variants all sitting at 11.0-ish in different tech trees. The Phantom is a solid plane with a bit of a learning curve. It was built as a missile truck, not a dogfighter, and it's the first plane a lot of players encounter that just isn't that good in a turn-and-burn dogfight. It has a lot of power and good energy retention, but it's raw turn rate isn't that good. You can throw it around in turns all you want, but you'll want to avoid extended turn fights. So, if you see a furrball behind you, feel free to flip around hard and then nail them with a high-speed pass. But don't actually dogfight someone. You'll want to watch the "how to outturn any plane" video I made - that very much applies to the Phantom. That's about all I can say without knowing if you play arcade or realistic. As for SRAAMs - I've actually never touched them. I will eventually lol, but the British tech tree is kinda at the bottom of my to-review list. It's a solid tech tree - the rank 7 and 8 stuff is great - but it's also mostly copy-paste, and it's a remarkably long tech tree for stuff that isn't all that unique. But hey, if you've gotten to rank 7 in it, that's not a concern for you.
@@Aoeilaeiepaethank you kindly. I hope when you do get to it that you enjoy. I seriously recommend making use of your magic powers to stay away from the British 8.0 through 11.0, currently the only decent things there are CAS trucks. I never thought I’d want French jets before I got this far.
4:11 I would have to dissagre the I bought the wrong premium with the A10, ive used it to hit ground targets in ARB and have gotten a couple million SL from it. I wouldnt have the F14B without having the A10
Heya Aoe, Arcade jets player & Squadron leader here. I am in a recruiting spree and wondering if you're in a squadron already (I assume)? Would you be at all interested in joining a (chill) mostly air arcade squadron that's not the annoying 100 or guud? Best, Barlius.
@@nick4754 Every once in a while, you see a maniac who really knows how to fly an F-4C, and it's pretty nuts. It's on my to-learn list. Once I, ya know, run out of planes that are good, and then also run out of planes that are good enough to feature more than once, and then also run out of guides ... and angry trolls who don't like me ... and squadrons that don't like me.
im a realistic air player and i just tried starting arcade today, and i can say im a sponge, im bad edit: ive spent acouple hours playing and watching your guide and i got 5 kills without dying instead of dying within 20 seconds, i think im improving
2:27 theres a sneaky technique i have with the me262-a1a/u1. Since it has a set of 30mm mk108 (500 m/s), 30mm mk103 (800-960 m/s), and mg 151 (720 m/s) I give the slowest bullets from the 108 a full tracer belt, then with the other two i use stealth belts. From your perspective it looks obvious, but from those being shot at the slow mk108 can be rather confusing. Ive had some incredible luck with confusing noob and higher level players alike and its incredibly effective against people running. On the Ayit it wont be as effective but the defa and mk11 still have a 200 m/s difference so it might be worth a shot.
@@Aoeilaeiepae Hopefully it works well in your endeavors, theres not a whole lot of planes this works for but for those it does it could be quite powerful. All i can think of is yak 141, su25, the israeli mirages, and obviously the ayit and 262. Other planes usually use the same gun on the plane as in the gunpod and the f5e's 30mm gunpod has the same velocity as its 20mm
I discovered this channel today, and let me say as much as I don't like playing Arcade, this is extremely entertaining to watch, and I'm glad we never have to fight.
i watched a few hours of your vids, then the next time i hopped into a match, to say i had improved is an understatement, instantly improved from getting3-4 kills per game to 8 each and by end of the day, i had a 11kill game. the subtle art of not giving a fuck helps as well, thanks Aoeilaeiepae.
Ok, so basically, I watched like 5 videos, and you're the gem. Also, I learned how to say your name after a second one, and I love it. And also, you inspired me to ruin TTAA, with TT american jets that are in my possession, but I'm mainly wondering how would F-14 fare with its 9Ls and 9Hs paired with some phoenix spam.
Another thing to add to the Shafrir 2 vs Aim-9D: the Shaf 2 has the flare resistance of a 9B and is MUCH worse than the 9D while yes the 9D is still a one flare most the time, it can ignore flares slightly better, and when combined with the longer range and better accelleration going with 2x2 for the Ayit is definitely the play even if you could have all 4 be 9Ds or Shaf.2s
Permhaps try out the Torando F3? Its a fairly fun plane in air rb thats really only held back by the airframe and im curious to see how it would perform in your hands
The MLD was in my dogfighting part 3 guide (called dirty tricks or something). It's basically identical to the ML, and I explain some of the basics of that plane there.
@@Aoeilaeiepae pls, there stupid in air arcade (imo) cause if you stay alive you know people with no missiles or stuff, so heads on using these things are kinda silly
