I love how the dev had to explain multiple times that this was not an asset flip and then like an hour after the game dropped players immediately found an asset pack with the game's entire city in it for $300
Games are incredibly time consuming and difficult to create. Reductive labels like "asset flip" distract from core issues of poor game design. Almost every game in existence has been built on previous work of others either in assets or fundamental engine plug-ins. Essentially, anything you have ever played could be called an asset flip. I'm not defending this game honestly I could care less I'm just pointing out there are valid and constructive criticisms that could be discussed but asset flip is the least productive.
@@Melatoninist the problem is is that they might be breaking early access TOS, there’s a steam review that lists every single flipped asset in the game, not to mention that the company was not incorporated until Oct 2021, and the trademark was filed for January 2022, which implies a much shorter development period.
@@S0ulGh0stoutdoor forklifts sometimes have inflated tires. But most of the time those standard forklifts have smooth solid rubber tires (that are flipping heavy).
It's honestly more of a 50/50 depending on the application of use. I work as a tire tech and a lot of customers just stick with pneumatic tires instead of solids due to cost (although solids are a better long-term investment since you'll never catch a flat)
Every last bit of this game feels like it was made by a single person plugging a bunch of prompts into a neural network. Definitely lends more credence to the Dead Internet theory.
I somehow managed to pass any sort of exposure to The Day Before before this video, so it was weird for me to hear people waiting for that game to come out. Glad to see I didn't miss anything.
I love that Unreal Tournament 99 Forgone Destruction music he used in the beginning of the video. You should definitely play Unreal Tournament games they still hold up.
Funniest thing about this game is how its supposed to be a zombie shooter but in like 2 hours of playing at most you would encounter 5 zombies,7 if ur lucky
Imagine not knowing gorillamind is the single best nootropic and energy drink there is. Derek could care less about the marketing, he put his money in to the R&D of his products. Man probably just photoshopped something up quick while he was on a stim comedown
The same thing happened with Fallout 76. If you geniuinely thought thay Fallout MMO with no npcs sounds dope you deserve to have your money stolen by Todd Howard.
The whole game was a giant asset flip. Iirc the map was from a downtown city pack and the gameplay from survival game kit pack. They also tried to delete any mention of MMO in any of their descriptions.
The Day Before characters go to the gym wearing the same leather jackets and jeans they go scavenging in, with rifles and heavy backpacks still on, all with the same stiff movements and blank expressions.
for the gorilla mind logo they should keep the gorilla face but get rid of that stuff above his head and replace it with a pulsating cartoon brain. then i would buy myself lots and lots of gorilla mind
Time for Dolmen-man from Dolmen to assemble Guy from The Day Before, Gollum from Gollum, King Kong from Skull Island and Ghost from Call of Duty 23 Modern Warfare 3 2. BAD GAMERS ASSEMBLE!
And the best part they're deleting all the old vids on their RU-vid and discord and such and have changed their description also to say it was always ment to be a extraction shooter
I'll be honest. I'm kinda impressed this game actually came out. I was under the impression this whole thing was a kickstarter scam of some sort. They genuinely surpassed my expectations. Good job, guys!
Hope you got a refund for this crap. Btw the devs are absolute scum, I don't think there is a single person here who doesn't know that but for the 1% who doesn't here's a list of everthing I remember off the top of my head. - Plagarism (not asset flips just straight up plagarism, though some of it could be called inspiration) - Also asset flips. - Instead of paying their workers they instead asked for "volunteers" (The reason they gave for this is hillarious, they essentially said its so everyone is passionate) - God awful management and possible abuse at the workplace (everyday started with a, "Stop everything your doing and throw it away and work on this") - They called this an MMO. - Now that its an extraction shooter they're trying to scrub all mention of it being an MMO off the internet. (Hard to do when it was the only thing some lobotomy survivors wanted to play this game before release)
