I don't want to get weird on you but I want you to know that your videos help me to maintain a sense of normalcy in the world. This world has gotten pretty weird lately but your catfishing videos help keep things balanced for me. Thanks again for your videos!
Well my fishing the last year or so has been limited to 15 to 30 min about 2 times a month on average due to shoulder pain. I appreciate you fishing for me, your videos are a blessing, thank you Dave.
There should only be commercial fisheries for fish that are being sold for human consumption, and even then they need to be highly regulated. Witnessed it firsthand in east NC, commercial guys once they're financially dependent will fish a species to near extinction before they give up and move on.
Dave in one of your videos you said the gizzard shad was a vegetarian and the skipjack was a predator, just had to let you know I caught a gizzard shad on a dip worm with Sonny's blood bait on it.He must have been a hungry fella.Keep up the Great Videos

❤ all your videos learn lots watching you and you for sure know how and where to find catfish ! You may or may not have a video on what you look for on river systems to find all type of catfish ? When caught properly (put into brine / ice solution immediately upon catch) and vacuum sealed really well (paper towel put in the bag at the tail to stop the oil from getting into the heat seal) frozen skipjack is excellent bait, and I actually prefer it over fresh if I am dragging since it releases the oil and blood slower. Stay warm, getting hammered with snow here in E Tennessee.
When I lived in the lower part of SC I used to catch river herring as they migrated up from the ocean in early spring. We would immediately put them in a salt brine/ice solution as we caught them. Then freeze them in a brine solution as well. We caught and froze enough bait to last all year. Enjoy the videos, keep them going.
I suspect that salt helps attract fish. I'm curious if a guy threw in a clove of garlic in each vacuum pouch if that would make any difference. But, I guess a guy has to end all the fancy flavors somewhere, or the drama can go on and on.
The shad available might not be as big as you want Dave you have to remember elephants eat peanuts lol I’ve got my biggest flathead on a 2x2 inch piece of beef heart.
I’d try soaking some of the frozen skipjack in strawberry, grape, cherry ect… cool aid and heavy salt before I froze them. It may help, it might be worth a try anyway.
Hello Dave . I know you don't respond to comments but I was interested in buying a conventional reel . Your suggestion of a Daiwa Seagate I liked .. I went on Amazon and the had the sgt40 h on-sale 69.95 .. for that price I has to give it a try . Yes I broke the level wind on a reel .. Thanks Catfish Dave .
Sorry catfish dave I liked the old camera better the auto was better I like hearing the water, birds ext you can’t even her the dog barking anymore that was the best part you tell the dog to shut up
Growing up in the high Sierra Nevada mountains, there weren’t many big fish. But at least we could eat the ones we caught…. Sad to think that some of our rivers are so polluted that the fish in them are inedible…😢
