I can count how many times Ronaldo touched the ball. But Messi was all over the pitch providing impeccable vision. I don’t even understand why people debate the Messi and Ronaldo issues. I was a CR7 and a Mourinho fan when they were at Real Madrid and I must confessed, I hated Messi and his fans. But after the 5-0 trashing of Real Madrid by Barcelona in Mourinho first el Classico, I had to admit the bitter truth. Messi is way better than everyone else. He didn’t even score in that game but he was awarded the man of the match because he was outstanding. CR7 was on the other half of the pitch waiting for the ball and throwing his hands in the air in anger because they couldn’t get the ball to him. Messi, on the other hand, dropped deep, collected the ball, dribbled past avalanche of Madrid players, and finished it off with sublime assists and passes. I cried after that that game because CR7 was useless and should have been taken off. We will never see another player like Messi. I respect Ronaldo for his goal scoring abilities, but football is more than just goals. Though many might argue that goals are what win games.
