I'm sorry but I love Vigo but I'm tired of Hollywood portraying my Confederacy heritage as the villains. It was the Northern invaders that were the villains. The South lives Forever
The villains were the RICH confeserates. The poor soldiers were dirt poor share croppers who either enlisted for a salary and meal or were duped into "patriotism" for the south. Wrong side of history either way but you DO have a point to be made about perspective from southerner to southerner in the period @bcconvoy9
@@davidbuswa9425 You know, I never realized that until now - but you're right, he played the smarmy government guy in Young Guns 2.. He also plays in another early 90's film that's under appreciated called Boiling Point. It's worth watching.
Yes- it absolutely was about slavery. Slavery was infused into every aspect of the confederacy, unequivocally documented in everything from secession statements to the writings of Davis, Lee snd others. Only apologists for the traitorous shoe scrapings that were the CSA would try that tired old lie!
I just love the way you lovely people at RU-vid make us all watch two unskippable commercials, before we get to watch the two-and-a-half minute commercial, for a movie!
Gotta see this simply because Viggo is in it. He doesn't do crap movies and I truly wish there is a sequel to Appaloosa which I consider a classic Western.
Couldn't agree more. Also, did you watch Hidalgo? A few great ones to check out; 3:10 To Yuma(the newer one), Open range(phenomenal), Bone tomahawk, Seraphim falls, The proposition, True grit, Hostiles ...
@@4Everlast IMO the best "western" to come out in last 10 years was Old Henry. I hadn't heard who Henry was and had a brain fart going into the movie so didn't even catch on till half way through who he was. Although it was fiction it was fukin such a cool movie. Appaloosa was pretty good also but didn't care for the girl between them narrative. All time though still Young Guns 1 and Tombstone. Another sneaky good one was Purgatory.
@@Flexb123 Old Henry? Really? The cast looks perfect for a western, but looks like just another revenge story. I'll have to check it out. Young guns, the 1st two are incredibly easy and fun too watch, I see there's a third one, haven't seen it yet. Tombstone's a classic. Saw Purgatory a few times, cool spin on the western genre indeed. I vouch for those I named, good stuff all around. Silverado is fun from what I remember, and Cusack had a great small drama western, really good, he has his two horses snatched away from him, can't find the name of it, really solid.
@@4Everlast Loved those movies except 3:10 newest version. The relationship between the two main characters did not seem real and the violence was over the top. Glenn Ford owns that role. He was perfect in the original movie.
@@vincentfisher1603 Really? The performances, the casting, script, the movie, it was all firing on all cylinders. Relationship? They were building the old school tough guy respect for one another through the film. Violence over the top? Compared to what? It's a more realistic film, not that typical Hollywood BS without a drop of blood after a 1000 people get shot(Dunkirk comes to mind). Haven't seen the original, but you can't miss with Bale and Crow. Phenomenal performers.
Viggo is a real mensch, being kind and helpful with many tales of him on many movie sets with his generosity and humble spirit. I hope this movie does very well, and it looks like it's a good film.
Viggo is a great actor. Has played different characters. Intelligent. I believe he speaks six different languages. Has a calmness to him. I wish he has done more and hopefully completes more movies.
Danke für diese sehr ausführliche Zusammenfassung eines großartig Films. Es gab Zeiten, da hat man neugierig gemacht auf einen Film und nicht alles gezeigt 🖕
Looks very interesting. Wished that the trailer was a bit more clear, though. I want to see that Viggo gets hardcore revenge and kills everyone, but I'm not quite sure how things are going to play out based on this teaser.
@@rosenbergjr10 Yes, I assume so. And although many would probably prefer that trailers are always presented in this way, I do think that the movie would do better if it showed more in this case.
This man is a very good actor, and the woman I have never seen her before but she appears to be a good actress also in this movie. Viggo is just a very good, stable actor and can carry a film himself.
I like that Costner created a whole new movie production complex away from Hollywood to create motion pictures. He built an entire movie studio in Utah.
