The Dead South playing a very intimate gig at The Bluebird Cafe in Edinburgh on the 21st of May 2016. This song is calles 'In Hell I'll Be In Good Company' off their debut album Good Company
Quite possibly one of the best live performances that I have ever heard. Almost exactly like the studio version, in a tiny bar. Damn. These guys are the real deal. Excellent musicians all around, this really makes me smile.
The fact... THE FACT! that this sound virtually no different to the recorded version... AND THIS IS LIVE!!!! IS DOWN RIGHT TERRIFYING!!! as that shows how good they are.... they wow!
They are close. The main guy with the hat on most definitely is the closest at sounding basically exactly like the album. The other two that sing definitely have some balancing done in the studio vs live, but they are great regardless.
As a huge Metallica fan, regarded as one of the best live band in history. And playing guitar myself....sounding THIS good live is unheard of. Just insane.
New idiot born every day. Better to stay silent and have people think you might be stupid than to open your mouth and prove it. Try doing this all in perfect harmony and time
ever heard of NuBreed? they do some weird rap/country crossover with a small bit of rock in it. really catchy songs about everyday life and its struggles
I’m ashamed to say I’ve just discovered these guys yesterday... I’m a metal/punk fan mainly... These guys just made my top 5 favourites ever lol The melodies, the vocals, the vibe they give off. Not many bands can sound this friggin good with no back up equipment at all. Just them and their instruments. Pure fucking talent!!! 👊👊👊
I'm about the same buddy I have a misfits tattoo on my right arm! In the past 10 ish years I have started listening to different kinds of music and these guys are amazing!
This song puts a sideways smirk on my face that remains long after it's over. This is music you don't need a bunch of fancy production. Just great melody and a catchy tune
Love the way this starts off with people laughing at the start of the song and through the first verse, then tails off to realising they are watching something truly special. Great version of it!
Stumbled across these guys down the RU-vid rabbit-hole, bought all their albums, and got to see them live last year, just before the Covid lockdown. I think they're wonderful ❤
i was sleeping rough when i first heard this and of all my problems, i thought it really sucked that i'd never find out who this was. well, weeks later, i was waiting on my forms to get in the nightshelter when one of the staff stopped on a dime and said who's humming the dead south? i love them! 😂
My 2 year old granddaughter has had me listen to this song at least 250 times. Found one day when she was fussy at 1 year old. Calmed down listening to them.
OMG I miss sitting in a tiny crowded bar enjoying musicians up close with the sweaty warmth of 40 tipsy people in a bar that only holds 30. Man, I know that this quarantaine stuff is for a good cause, but seriously, fuck.
UDATE SEPT 2021. We all thought it was over in May, but no. I have a voice on this shoulder, and a diff voice on that shoulder. My friends and I have dialed it back: outdoors ok, indoors not ok. Get the jab people! FROM JUNE 2021: We've been seeing live music 3x week since May 2021. DMV area is well vaccinated, and it matters. Thank you my neighbors. The VFW 350 is a start, holds about 80: King Soul band, The Thrilbillies, Rhodes Tavern Troubadours, plus Soul Crackers. This place is thick with outdoor summer shows. Can't wait to get back to barbes in Brooklyn for a Tuesday night: Slavic Soul Party!
Just found these guys, absolutely brilliant, listened to this track at least 20 times today. Nothing like this in England at all. Will be buying the albums.
This would be a treat to watch this awesome band in the venue of a cafe. This is the kind of music opportunity that the patrons will talk about to their grandkids. Awesome music and I wish I had been their.
I just discovered this band and I am delightfully impressed, excited and happy about this treasured musical find. I don't know how they escaped my radar.
I am glad to see that I am not the only one who thinks this would go good on a movie soundtrack. I was thinking more along the lines of Fargo. I listen to this over and over.
Amazing talent. Coffee house and still sound great! I played so many dive bars in the 90's, standing on pallets to play. I understand! These guys nailed it!
Vivo en la frontera de Nogales Mexico y por acá no se escucha muy buena música como esta, los encontré buscando música diferente durante la cuarentena , definitivamente me hice Fan de estos grandiosos chicos.
The signed of a great band, when they can perform live and be virtually as good as the recording, with bang on timing even when having a laugh. Really impressive, And it's fantastic to see them performing in small local venues. Brilliant, thanks very much.
Hey guys I just want to say no band in my lifetime can perform as good as a video clip like these they did not skip a beat or miss a tune absolutely amazing I am new to this band and I have been watching them for a while and they have not faltered Hey dead South you are amazing keep it up guys
