I am a grunge, garage and punk guy from Australia but The Dead South has me hooked

Completely blown away by this group of talented musicians. Best vocals, arrangements, and well written songs about real life. Fantastic originality and creativity. A+ highly recommended.

What the fuck, this should have like 10 million likes by now, these dudes rock.

I found this band by by chance. I was knocked out by the In Hell I'll Be...video outdoors so shared it immediately with my (mainly Uk) FB friends here in Scotland. What a random find find! Where would we all be without RU-vid!?

Been listening the The Dead South since 2016 but discovered this song this year and I've listened to it 100's of times now, can't decide on my favorite between this, Banjo Odessy, Blue Trash, The Recap, or Broken Cowboy, but I mean with such an amazing group of musicians is it even possible to decide a favorite song?

You know, the narrative of a man fighting his way through the American Civil War to get back home would be amazing. No Greyback or Yankee, the man just wants to get home to his wife and baby.

So, never heard of you guys til 2 days ago. I'm mainly an alternative rock guy, but you won me over on the first listen of "In Hell I'll be in Good Company." Been binge listening ever since. This song takes me back to my Army days in Iraq in 04 when we all missed that girl back home. You guys are awesome. Hope you come to North Carolina someday!

I've always seen this guys been labeled as bluegrass and folk, but never country. But this song is country af. I mean, most of their stuff is bluegrass, but they have some pure country stuff like this one and "Broken Cowboy"

I've created slightly more "safe for work" versions of Dead South songs like The Recap by editing out the F-Bombs using dubbed in double lines from other verses or just fading certain parts out entirely & jumping back in elsewhere in the song where it fits. This tune has such a weird structure that it's kinda hard to cut around the "shitstorm". 😉
