Over 22,000 people died. Winds were gusting over 200 mph or 325 km/h. In this video, the islands hit hardest by the deadliest hurricane ever... The Great Hurricane of 1780!
Thank goodness we have you, Brian. 🇧🇸🌀🇺🇲 You're my go-to prescription for anxiety reduction during every hurricane season since your link showed up in my feed a few years back (subscriber count was a just few thousand). I constantly share your channel; you're the GOAT!! 🏆🥇.

@@MrWeatherman I've just found out that Hurricane Dorian surpassed the great 1780 Hurricane in wind gust by 20 mph which adds up to 220 mph that's crazy but one thing about that? Dorian wasn't the deadliest Hurricane ever
Good morning Brian.Thank you for all the weather updates.Thank you also for that historical hurricane in the Atlantic Basin all these years and so many lost of lives. We have very hot sun and heat on Grenada right now.
I watched a video of Irma's devastation of Barbuda in 2019. Watching those winds and the gusts of 200 mph makes you more aware of their devastating potential that you have to stay out of there way. 1780. Can't imagine how many of those people were caught off guard. Thank you Brian.
Thank you Brian for the weather update and for reminding us of that devastating hurricane so many years ago. Your are the best of them all and we salute you for your hard work and dedication. Very hot day in Barbados.🇧🇧🙏🙏

Absolutely agree. Weather history is an important factor in understanding current and future climatic patterns for weather forecasting. It also educates the public as to the potential impact of dangerous weather - so they can make the best possible preparations long before threatening weather strikes. 🙏🌎🕊

Thanks for the information. It’s hard to find reliable information on weather history. Those poor folks in the 1700s had no way of knowing ahead of time to take cover. We are lucky today to have YOU to help us out now!
