In Finland we have just started to have street gang related shootings in the streets, but certain politicians are still adamant that we are not repeating Swedens mistakes and anyone who claims something like this is a racist.

I live in Sweden. In the area I live there are three gangs. You could walk around the block and point out several spots young lads been murdered. Heard gunfire more than once. A couple of years ago and about 2 min from my door a dude was shot in the head for wearing the wrong jacket, the shooter was 15. I walked out a few minutes after the shooting to buy cigarettes. Met a cop when I walked out of a grocery store a year ago or so, you could see straight away he didn't know the area and shouldn't have been on patrol alone. Three hours later he was shot in the head by a 17 year old. So...

The swedish system is very complex. It’s well known in Sweden if you get arrested once, it’s pretty much over. Yeah that’s what most people think about but it’s been going downhill fast these last couple of years. At least a shooting a day so far this year and 25+ people killed by gun the first 3,5 months. Might not look like much but it really is when you think about the population of the country

Sweden really aint as sweet as people think it is. I was super suprised when i saw roadmen posted up in the centrum (an area with shops, train station or bus station etc) openly dealing both in the city of stockholm and outside in a small suburb on the commuter line called Tumba. The thing is though, the roadmen often keep to themselves and never really bother anyone that isnt about that life.
I went to Sweden in 2017 in the city of jonkoping. And I was honestly surprised by how quiet and peaceful it is. Nothing but trees, fresh air and just quietness. looked like a post apocalyptic town. Hearing that all of this is going on in Sweden is crazy to me.

Whilst their mothers fathers or older siblings go out to work as hard as they can to provide for their eachother. If the government and/or community got together to unite the people in need this wouldn't be happening as much. With grooming from elders in gangs also taking advantage of vulnerable youths the gang wars arn't going to stop until these issues are resolved. No matter how rich the country is,if that wealth isn't going to deprived areas these no point showcasing the glory of said country that isn't able to provide for it's civilians.

You should do one on Toronto. Gun violence there is even more serious than Sweden. Theres been 20 people shot dead since the beggining of the year. Two 13 years old got charged of murder this year, one happened at a school. Most victims are 19yo or less. Theres been 60 +victims of gun violence as of now.. and most of it happens in specific areas like the west end and parts of downtown.
Sweden has had 133 total shootings since the beginning of 2022, with 27 people shot dead. Canada has a population of almost 40 million whilst Sweden is at around 10 million. I think its safe to say the gun violence in Sweden is much worse. Sweden has a system where if you are under 18 you can only be sentenced to maximum 4 years in juvenile, which in sweden is pretty much a hotel stay, therefore older gang members place bounties on rivals and allow the youngers in the neighbourhood to collect these, usually around 15,000-30,000$. However, specific people who are considered big names can sometimes have larger bounties and get killed for 50,000-100,000$. All across the country there are gang filled areas at war with each other. Edit; Olders at war over personal reasons other than for example drug trade etc also shoot personally, there are a shit ton of crazy ones who don't care and will take the sentence either way, a "life" sentence in Sweden for a murder is like 15 years

@@vicss1344 id say Krakow was always the most fascinating in terms of modern street crime and Warsaw in the 90s when it came to actual organised crime (Pruszkow vs Wolomin), as for Krakow i found it more interesting because i lived through it; with said gangs being all related to football hooliganism which in reality was just a way for said gangs to recruit young people into drug dealing and violence for them. Mainy Wisła Sharks (which at one point somehow took over the entire club of Wisła Kraków, worth millions and millions... and ran it to the ground) and Anti-Wisla/Jude Gang.
