Typically you take the size of the fly and divide by 3 to get the correct size of the tippet. Size 14 fly gets 5X etc. From there you do the same with the dropper. - Now there are always exceptions to the rule but it works 99% of the time.
First part of the video looks like just up from Allensford - some cracking pools further up. Nice double header - are you fishing a furled leader to maybe 5ft of 5x or 6x tippet?? Thanks
Jonathan, can you tie the leader directly to the elk hair caddis and then tie your tippet to the shank /bend of the ehh for the spider? I use barbless hooks, will the tippet come off during the cast? Regards, Richard
