Our destination in this programme is the Dean Forest Railway, a fine example of steam society in the heart of beautiful Gloucestershire countryside. Take a trip through the forest landscape and discover the history of steam, from Stephenson's "Rocket" and Isambard Kingdom Brunel's broad gauge right through to the preserved steam societies of today. With plenty of opportunity to see the trains in close up detail, as well as the track, stations, signal boxes and junctions, this will truly be a memorable experience.

hi there, we used to have 9682 at southall railway centre in the 80s but it was a wreck, i am glad its now running and looks great, it would never have got done at southall as staff were too busy fixing cars and vans.

I was very saddened when I learned that the British railway closed a lot of stations and left them to rot, it's a far cry from what I've learned about the British people I know it's about being in the Black and not the Red I have abandonment issues because the one parent that was supposed to be there for you wasn't for me I called her mom,😢 just for my siblings instead, I cringe at abandoned buildings etc it really hurts me. If only something I could do I can't even get payee free.
