saw them live at a musicmasters camp a few years back and sat behind Nick. hearing this song live gave me a new appreciation for the drums and was basically as close to a religious experience as i've ever gotten
I'm turning 45 in two weeks, and I've been thinking about mortality a lot lately. This song speaks to me in a way few other songs can, and is one that I listen to almost daily. I don't know what happens after we die, but it's worth thinking about, even if you never arrive at an answer.
Maybe it’s just because I’ve been playing a lot, but this song sounds like it could be straight off the Hades soundtrack. And of course, I love it even more for that.
This is awesome. Just found your music and it's great. i'm kind of obsessed with this song... if we don't do things we know we have to do, it's because of a fear to the unknown ? like if we are too kind we maybe found some things that are about what all religions talk about. What if we can really be angels and saints and, with that human being form, capables of making miracles ? would you be the kind of nicest person ever ? well, im going back to study.
Keenan Horrigan thanks for the reply. I pinpointed what was intriguing and somewhat bothering me about this song. It sounds like its straight out of 1995-1998, so not really post-grunge persay, but it REALLY sounds like a Stabbing Westward song or a song that would appear on Bush's 'Razorblade Suitcase' album. In this case that's a compliment b/c this song crushes that stuff. I tried some other Dear Hunter songs but nothing really stuck because they have a lot of material. What i did listen to was from like Act V and later (do all these "Act" albums tell a story/ have a common thread?) The songs i heard were bad crossover pop-Americana type songs.
