Far as Superman games go, this one's not so bad. In fact, I'm going out on a limb and saying this is the best Superman game since the Taito arcade game. Yes, I said it, and I meant it.

I remember playing this game as a kid, this is what introduced me to superman as a comic book character, now he is my fav superheroe along with batman. I will always have it in my heart doesnt matter if it isnt the greatest.
I wish they would make more of these games again, I'm tired of shooters. I just want to chill with the homies and beat up some enemies Streets of Rage style. TMNT out of the Shadows had an arcade mode, it was glitched as hell, but it was fun. Might have to get a 360 lol

Honestly this is the purest Superman game I've ever played...I thought Superman returns was okay at best,but a 90's beat em up side scroll Superman game just sticks for some reason...
It sticks because that was the type of games that a lot of us grew up on, and we learned to appreciate them as children, and we treasure them now as adults.

Because Superman is almost perfect, is it impossible to have a great Superman game? I enjoyed this as a kid because of the dark theme hence his death. I enjoyed the idea of his perfection being smashed and the legacy of this icon, and at the same time, trying to see who’s going to take his mantle.

It isn't Superman that looks like Blackthorne, it is the latter that looks like Superman. The Superman used in this videogame is the same one as the one in the original comics (from his "resurrection" until Clark marries Lois Lane) that came back with long hair. Lorenzo Lamas' nineties look dealed so much damage to movies and comics...
I was 5-6 years old when I beat this game and I didn't even knew video games have cheat codes back then. I remember spending 2 painful months to beat it. And I have to say, that 2 months scarred me for life! Childhood trauma!

I still have this game and I still remember the code for infinite lives and special powers 0B 29 2C 05 in the sound test options It costed about 75 or 80 dollars which I thought to be pricey for a super nes game but super Mario rpg was about the same I remember probably my favorite game on Super Nintendo
At 58:20 Cyborg releases lethal Kryptonite gas, but the Eradicator shields a weakened Superman (wearing black). The lethal gas interacted with Eradicator as it passed through and into Superman -- returning his powers rather than killing him.
I hope one day I get to play this game. This is one challenging game that I'm hoping to check out. Like other gaming companies back then, Sunsoft knew how to make a challenging game. Congrats! I really did enjoy it!

I think we're at a point in technology to do a Open-World Superman game. Flying, Speed mechanics, techniques can all be implemented. Saints Row Gat out of Hell is kinda relatable to superman-esque abilities.
