I've been hospitalized quite a few times, and it never helps. They drug you then discharge after a few days. Not to mention meeting all the other patients there that are also hospitalized for tragic reasons. It's boring , its depressing, and It's a scary. I always ended up telling them that I felt fine even if it wasn't true. Anything to get out of that place as soon as possible.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I too had lost someone to suicide roughly 2 decades ago. My brother. I don't think i knew it back then, but he was struggling with a mental disorder called Schizo, was taking meds for it, but later decided to stop taking them because of their side effects.

I'm late to this, but I feel your pain, back in October a friend of mine killed herself, she was only 15 years old at the time, she was one of the closest people to me throughout the pandemic and it still has left me destroyed mentally, and she was an online friend, I can't even imagine what it's like losing a brother to that My dad too can heavily relate as he's lost many friends to suicide, you wouldn't think it, but comedy is a career with a very high suicide rate, it's awful losing people that way.

Sorry for your loss, lost a class mate ~3 years ago, roughly half a year after Byron passed. Depression really sucks, thankfully I found a way to deal with it. I hope others find their way too..

Before deep trauma work, you should give tools to deal with the pain. I afraid dr. K went to deep, to quick, without giving him the right tools.

I remember watching the reruns on Byron's channel all the time and lost them for a bit when the new channel was made, but I absolutely have followed since. It's hard to watch though. 3 1/2 years later and I still get torn up watching footage of him. It also always seems to be the Japan vlogs where he truly looked and seemed to be at his happiest. Anyways, that's all to say I appreciate what you and the rest of the community do to keep Byron's legacy and memory living on.

I’m willing to bet Byron would be here today if he hasn’t embarked on a self-destructive journey in his personal life which led to a lot of the aggravating circumstances around his death. Dude was making money gaming and had a high school sweetheart fiancée who was waiting for him long distance and he destroyed that for that “Blue” chick who never cared about Byron. He surrounded himself with fake people who ultimately didn’t truly care about him and his well being and probably pushed away people who told him stop doing this and stop interacting with these toxic individuals. Had he married and moved back home or moved in with his high school sweetheart fiancée he would probably still be here today albeit still depressed. I don’t think that would’ve fixed his mental issues but would’ve kept him from derailing, IMO.

I came across a video from Byron's channel in my recommendations a few days ago. He talked about WoW, his ban, and his bad luck in tournaments. Initially, I thought he didn't live a full life due to mental health issues. But I was wrong. This video revealed he led a full life, albeit filled with toxic relationships that he chose himself. I hoped to hear at the end that all the drama with the girls was just a scenario for the audience to make money, which I could understand, but unfortunately, it looks like that wasn't the case. Respect to his fans and viewers who saw the best in him. Respect also to Blizzard for their thoughtful gesture and how the players said goodbye in the game. However, I can't respect his behavior - unacceptable. Respect to Jenna for helping his family after he passed away and for being so kind and loyal, but her victim behavior doesn't honor women; it felt degrading. The worst people treat their partners like this, and that I know for sure. He was unhealthy for those close to him, affecting their mental health, which is unforgivable. He was a good content creator, and I truly feel sorry for his trauma, but was he a good person? From what I saw, he wasn't, even if he wanted to appear as one.

That's absolute bullshit. They didn't ban him because of "unfair advantages" through profile sharing, they banned him the same reason netflix stopped allowing account sharing. They don't want people playing if they aren't paying.

@@Piromysl359 There's a major difference between having an event that accidentally causes the server to crash and purposefully setting out to do something. If Reckful had somehow accidentally logged onto someone else's account, I'm sure he'd be alright as well. But Sodapoppin, for instance, also botted in a BG and got his account banned, and that ban has been upheld. Different levels of infractions with different intent. But I still think they should've reconsidered after 5 or 6 years.

If you discover a bug by accident that ends up breaking the game, that sucks, if you repeat it, that's an exploit and you should be punished. If you actively participate in something that breaks the ToS, like for example purposefully joining up with others with the intention of exploiting, that's a clear violation. They've always been very strict about account sharing at high levels of play - it's that simple. Swift didn't set out to break the server, just like thousands of other players didn't, and just like thousands haven't meant to in the future with large events or launches. But Reckful purposefully logged into someone else's account with the intent of playing a different class at a high MMR level.

No it doesn't, it moves at a fixed rate relative to your speed and your perspective of light as you move through the universe. And everyone moves at the same speed on Earth, you can move faster if you live in high altitudes, and only compared to those below sea level at a seconds difference.

A famous Greek Philosopher once said "Man is by nature a social animal, an individual who is unsocial naturally and not accidentally is either beneath our notice or more than human." He said this because human being live in groups whether they are smaller like a family or larger like a city or country. They form the communities leads cultural development. We can't live in isolation as it does not lead any kind of cultural and social development in us.

There is so much you can do with someone being that depressed. You will lose friends because of depression because it becomes unbearable. And friends are not your caretakers

“Being a friend is hard.” So, I think your comment is a bit unfair but not inaccurate.Because being a friend IS hard. You have to be considerate, consistent, comfortable and supportive to be around; but also stern and schedule a life around a friend who may or not be the greatest. I think Reckful’s friends did care about him, but being a friend is hard and not always perfect. An analogy for people that think an online friend is the same as a real one. Say you want to hang out with your friend, but his car breaks down on the way. So now you have to meet him halfway to fix it. It isn’t a simple fix, it may take hours or more. And all the while, the friend is staring and maybe occasionally helping at best, or at worst talking your ear off about their problems. I will say most of his friends sucked with handling Byron’s temperament because people suck at neurodivergent behavior and regulation. I have anxiety and PTSD among many other things, and I get very quick with my emotions from extreme panic, to anger and despair. Borderline Disorders are among the most misunderstood except perhaps Schizotypal disorders. And we should all remember that. Otherwise, you are definitely right. That Tyler1 quote is burned into my head. It keeps me going, and it reminds me having friends means having an unpaid job that may not be the best for your mentally. But we try, and we should keep trying. For Byron.

Tyler1 literally knew nothing about Reckful's situation. They were not friends because Tyler is a self-admitted recluse who doesn't associate with other streamers. And I'm guessing you're a RU-vid viewer that never actually watched Reckful and have no idea of anything either, but just watched Tyler1 say something and took it as fact. If you actually know anything about Reckful, you would know that he was suicidal his whole life, and he had dozens of friends that talked to him and tried to help him multiple times. You would know that Reckful sometimes pushed those people away because suicidal people don't always act rationally. You would know that Reckful had multiple roommates living with him and watching over him the morning he committed suicide. You would realize Reckful's suicide wasn't pre-planned, he never left a suicide note, and you would realize that you can't watch over someone 24/7. You would also realize that there was a pandemic going on, and people couldn't physically be around Reckful a lot. Blaming someone's friends for their suicide is insanely heartless and cruel. Stop spreading such a disgusting narrative if you don't even know anything about his life

I am so sorry for your losses. That is heartbreaking and tragic. 💔 Also, i knew of reckful only because i watched his youtube content, because he played hearthstone, and i watch streamers that play it. He never failed to make me laugh and smile. I also feel the same for his surviving brother. I've also lost a brother, but losing my other brother who is still alive would be pretty devestating for me, so i can imagine what you and him are going through.

Feeling deeply won't change a thing. Time to grow up and realize that nobody cares what you feel.

Traumas, ctpsd, and in the end somekind of personality disorder. Suicide usually comes from an intense trigger, your mind shrinking, it feels like you looking into a black hole, and that is so frightening, that you rather choose death. Really its a blink of an eye, and its a very, very small and dark place. I am afraid that he and his therapist went into his traumas too quick and too deep, without giving him tools to deal with the most frightening parts to dealing with traumas, which is usually the beginning of it.

I couldn’t agree more. I sympathize with the fact that he struggled with depression as I also suffer from it. But it also doesn’t excuse me of any problems I caused. I feel like this dude literally hopped from one girl to the next.

While I get your point you also need to acknowledge that mental health is a spectrum. Just cuz you’re able to do it on your own, doesn’t mean others can. There can be continuous existing circumstances that worsen the problems, or they have worse mental health issues due to their brain, etc. People asking for help shouldn’t be demonized. Not everyone can help themselves, and seeking out therapy or other forms of support should be accepted. Like seriously, saying that you have self delete thoughts mean nothing. That’s so common. That doesn’t make you special or imply your mental health is really bad at all. The sheer fact you can pull yourself from the “ledge” already means you’ve got a leg up on people who have went through with it. You’re already in a better place than they are. Rather than feeling accomplished in your condition, something you worked hard for, you’re admonishing someone for being unable to do what you did. Remember that they were in a worse hole than you were, hence why they’re gone and you aren’t. To look at these people without empathy is also proving their point too. In their minds, people want them gone and would be better off without them. Feeling happy about yourself cuz they’re gone is validating their feelings, as well as just makes you sound sick. A lot of what you said I can understand, such as avoiding severely depressed people. I stopped talking to a friend cuz of it, after she refused to take my advice. But to lack any care cuz their disability is hurting them more than it hurts you is just sad. I’d cut you off even without you being severely depressed and ruining my mood lol

Classic. "You're not dead, so it can't be as bad!" And I lack empathy. BTW, my mental illness is because of my brain. My brain can't even be medicated to right spot. It's almost like I was stating that people should stop looking to be cured or fixed, and instead be treated and learn what works for them. Once again, we are not broken. But sure, I should really put myself at risk of self deleting with my disability to care for someone else who refuses to get treatment. I should dismiss all of my problems to save others, because I wouldn't want emotional vampires to say I'm the one without empathy.
