The Decline of Aaron's Character from Aphmau Mystreet

The big character assassination was garroth. In pdh, he was a decently smart, popular guy. But in mystreet, his iq dropped to 1, and he and Lawrence only existed as the idiotic comedic characters whose sole purpose was pursuing Aphmau 🤦‍♀️

Personally, I remember really liking the *idea* of giving Aaron slightly more character outside of MCD (since, in MCD, I didn't really like him, and once I started to like him, he started getting more screentime and seemingly became more watery to me, as if they forgot how to write MCD Aaron and only remembered MyStreet Aaron... And then they killed him), but, though I LOVED his development in Emerald Secret, his character started to go downhill for me in Phoenix Drop and the more we found out about him, the more boring he got, losing all his original charm and just becoming an (Lord forgive me for this) "UwU Soft Puppy Boi" instead of a "Cool guy with tragic past". and don't get me STARTED on what happened to everyone else!!! I'd love to see a video on MyStreet as a series, as well as on some of the other Characters and how they changed over time!

why did I just realise that mystreet was riverdale before riverdale. going from normal life events to magical random shit that came out of no where

i was an aphmau fan in her golden years and pretty much all along until mystreet ended. haven't really had much contact with the series since then, but it's so cool to see a modern character review by someone a little more mature. i was amazed to see this video was uploaded less than two weeks ago, haha. i very much appreciate your overview, and you've just inspired me to watch through the series again, for the first time in years!

A few things to remember about Aaron's character development after season 4 and during 5 and 6 is that his werewolf side was largely Suppressed since childhood due to his father and the curse only showing up once during pdh. This is why it feels Aaron is so different after the time skip because he did not have any connection to his werewolf side before. It not like there was a secret side to Aaron that side just didn't exist until the year in between 4 and 5. This also reflects his nervousness in season 5 as he still had qualms about being a werewolf and was also worried about how people react to him after he'd changed so much. It really gives Aaron more depth to his character. And it not like his cool side doesn't exist anymore. His cool does show up when he's being rational. But him being so emotional with Aphmau, show how much he trusts her and all his friends as well ( during season 5). Another point is that as mystreet become more serious season 5 was meant to be a break in between 4, Aphmau's year, and Season 6 and all the cute high jinks and moments were not supposed make season 5 like season 1, but to make season 5 as a sort of way to show how everyone has change and how all the characters have evolved compared to their earlier versions. Season 5 also did have serious moments and fun ones but most of the use of season 5 was a calm before the storm, and setting the series up for season 6. It's important to ret that the series was evolving as the characters were evolving over time. And that Aaron is still cool but can now be more emotive. To be fair season 4 Aaron goes through a lot ( of dying and trauma) and that would change anybody. And that all the characters needed a break after season 4 as well which is why season 5 had so many hijinks. Final remarks cause this is getting long: Aaron and all the characters evolve with the series but still maintain aspects of their core selves. Aaron evolution is cool way of changing the mysterious, cool guy trope. His pdh and fcu characters and the rest of them are a lot younger and prone to the reckless thinking. While it was never to get so out of hand, the series still kept our attention for a long time. And Ein's beat down was well deserved.

I always tried viewing season 1-2 as like being loosely canon at this point. Since that series was definitely treated more as just being the spinoff to diaries(season 1 especially). At least thats how I made sense of it. Aaron isnt exactly my favorite character(Zane is my fav) but he definitely grew on me in season 4 since he got so much focus. Really makes me think that Aaron is now the main protag currently(like how in fairy tail, Lucy technically supposed to be the main character but instead Natsu Took the spotlight and did way more than Lucy main character wise, it's kinda like that.) I will say, I love this character analysis I hope you do more with the rest of the cast(like Zane, Ein, Katelyn, Kawaii Chan and Travis)

when i first watched diaries back when i was like,, twelve, i HATED aaron (but that is absolutely because i was a huge garmau shipper, to be real) however i rewatched season two very recently, i found i appreciated his character a lot more. his relationship with aph in s2 i found to be sorta underdeveloped but that's neither here nor there. their relationship in mystreet however was a lot more fleshed out and i always liked it! until his character started slipping ofc. i'm a ms s3 hater to my core, though

I'll be completely honest with you, from a pure writing aspect there is nothing wrong with Aaron's character. In fact I can pretty easily argue the opposite. If you go by the timeline his character development makes a lot more sense than how you portray it. In Phoenix Drop High Aaron is an angry, self isolating teenager because of his extremely strained relationship with his parents but he still has some kindness. Over the season he opens up and shows his cool but dorky personality, although he still carries a lot of anger. He is also shown to blush several times and be embarrassed pretty easily. In Phoenix Drop High season 2 he is mostly the same as season 1 but he is a bit more fragile than before due to the isolation that he experiences on a day to day basis and considering Aphmau is probably the only person he talks to at that point in time. This continued isolation leads us nicely into the awkward mess that he is in College when he reunites with Aphmau. The consequence of barely talking to anyone for a few years is that he isn't the most confident person. Between then and season 1 of mystreet he obviously matures and gains a bit more confidence with Aphmau's help. Developing this cool, calm and collected facade. For most of season 1 Aaron is your basic, one dimensional cool guy with a secret heart of gold. Towards the end we get a glimpse of an actual character and the fact that he is a bit more awkward than his persona would have you believe. In season 2 and 3 he is more fleshed out and more of a character. He is like a calmer, more mature version of the person he was at the end of PHD season 1 which works quite well and makes a lot of sense. In season 4 he is mostly the same as before. Nothing really changes and he acts the way that someone with his personality would. His anger is completely in character because 1. He has plenty of reasons to be angry. 2. Aaron has always be portrayed in mystreet to have a lot of anger. In season 5 he is still in a lot of ways the same character but his dorky and insecure side is a bit more at the forefront. This makes sense as after going through a traumatic event and having to learn to except a side of himself that he was raised to repress and hate. He has every reason to be a bit fragile and insecure but he is still mostly the exact same character. TLDR, there is this thing called character development. Characters change over time, just because you don't like it doesn't make it bad.

I think there's something to be said about perspective- Early on we pretty much only saw from Aphmau's point of view, and she always saw Aaron as this cool aloof guy. Meanwhile flashbacks and things more from Aaron's perspective show him more nervous and goofy. AND as everyone got more comfortable around Aaron, they stopped perceiving him as an intimidating guy, which allowed him to drop his guard more and more. Not excusing the writing and issues with everything, but I do feel like the scenes that are more from his perspective are going to show him in a different light then the early scenes where Aphmau was crushing on this Mysterious Troubled Guy™.

This might simply be blind bias (I hope it isn’t because I see and agree with points in the video), but my guess with Aaron’s progression might have been to infer his vulnerability at the time of Season 5 because of the Ultima side. It’s…..pretty clear Jess loves werewolves (from the times she has talked about Twilight positively), so my guess is she wanted to portray not a big lovable teddy bear, but an affectionate puppy side to Aaron. Is it a good thing?……From my perspective, it’s shaky at best, but my suspension of disbelief can be very generous. From my pov, you take it as a perspective of Aaron having more animalistic instincts in full force much like how werewolves act in the show. His control seems to resurface in Season 6, but completely falls apart later for understandable reason. (Which was partly Jason’s hand in things) I personally both like and dislike season 5 Aaron. I love the breakdown of the cool guy in control is not just vulnerable at times, but loses the control if you push the right buttons or you learn what makes them tick. But I also agree seeing more moments of Aaron’s control (or at least trying to practice that control) would establish that they are facets of the same person and that it’s not only something he had to perfect and mold over time, but that the mask can be put on again under the right circumstances.

When it comes to Aaron, I used to like him before he came a love interest. Aaron had felt like his own character with his own motivations. Like him getting revenge on Zane for what happened to his wife, child, and his people. But the moment he became a love interest, he changed. In ep 45(?) Aaron went to his old home where Aphmau had flashbacks about what happened, which then Aaron was upset. But when Lilith Garent is introduced, you can tell his character was changing. If though we didn't know much about him you could still tell he loved his family. But all of a sudden he falls in love with Aphmau and gets her pregnant before dying. Even if there were "moments" between them, you could literally interpret them as being friends or being more than friends, depending on whether or not you shipped Aarmau or not. While Garmau or Laurmau moments, you could tell that those were actual moments or attempts of moments without shipping either. When it comes to MS Aaron... I just wish Aaron stayed at the very least in his S2 self. Especially if he was gonna have to be in a relationship with Aphmau. But I just wanna say that I hate the fact that he's an Ultima. Because why. I get that it's meant to represent the fact that he's a Descendant of Shad the Destoyer and considering in S3 of MCD Shad takes over his body and such but it just doesn't make sense. Even Aphmau being half Werewolf doesn't make sense. Like they gave her the powers of Irene, might as well just allow her to have Magick. Especially considering Travis' family problems go on for so many generations. Plus the Demon Warlock still being around

Yaaaaa. Arion stopped being a character I liked after s4, actually Zane had been my favourite since s4 I think Jess did a great job with the character and Kasten did a great job voicing him imo! I think the opposite. I don't think Aaron declined, I think he improved. I liked that quiet, tough exterior he had in the earlier seasons, but it got annoying after a while. I think him becoming more social and open with Aphmau's friends really changed his personality for the better. He didn't have a lot of friends growing up because his father controlled his life all the time, irrc. Plus, Sylvanna doesn't hate him like she did in season 1. She accepts him.

Man changed characters so much it gave me and my friends whiplash, it was there first time watching the series.

He went through a traumatic experience and had to accept a side of him he thought people would be afraid of. His character is acting pretty accurately to something like that. He hasn't lost his cool side, but he still has to heal from trauma. People tend to forget that and it's really disrespectful to Jess bc she wrote him as a real person would act about those events. Aaron is still my favorite. How do yall expect him to act after all that? Like everything is normal? It's not.

I became a fan of Aphmau only recently (about 1-2 years now), and I’ve always had mixed feelings for Aaron. Although I understand how he could have changed drastically based off of what has happened to him, it was a little bit of a mess. I like his character regardless, but it would be nice if he was more consistent. Also! If you have watched Aphmau’s roleplay series “My Inner Demons”, it would be cool to hear your thoughts and opinions on it! It’s personally my favorite series of hers at the moment.

It’s actually funny because the way he acted during season 5 was so different than in the mini games.In the mini games he was more of a prankster.

Honestly, Aaron become unlikeable and boring as soon as he was forced into being Aph's love interest in basically every series Jess created. Like, it makes sense in the MyStreet universe, but it never did make sense in the Diaries universe. Jess basically tried to force it to make sense in Season 3, which failed. In Diaries, the only rational love interests (imo) were Laurance and Garroth, due to all of the stuff they went through. Instead, they were both turned into jealous jerks over time, who seemed to slowly be drifting away from Aphmau. From what I could tell, they were trying to turn Laurance into a villain, which is a bad decision and ruined his character. I believe Diaries would have done better if Jess didn't let Jason's behaviour get in the way, and you'd be silly to not realise it is due to Jason being possessive of Jess that he couldn't bare to let Aph to end up with a character that wasn't based on him.

Dude,..... I used to watch this. In the Minecraft diaries Garroth was so fantastic, until suddenly he was supposedly a stupid goofball instead of the guard that had always stayed by Aphmau's side. Laurence and Garroth would literally have given their all for Aphmau (Garroth even seemed open to forgiving Aphmau for... like... having a baby with another guy after she was... Y'KNOW... having such intimate moments with him emotionally for some FREAKING TIME.) and she went and just... I have so much to say about the Aphmau series. My hopes died along with my ships, Aphmau's voice progressed into a high pitch squeaker toy and into a mary sue. He was a cool side character but, just... I dunno man. I wish something great like this would come up again, but I think this series is over.

I honestly didn't mind Aaron's character throughout Mystreet. I mean, yeah, he kinda stopped being a major badass after Emerald Secret, but I just sorta see this as him maturing. He is now finally able to be completely honest with himself in his relationship, no more needing to act tough, he can allow himself to feel spoiled on occasion. Maybe Aphmau and Aaron's relationship wasn't as cool as in the early days, but from beyond season 4, taking a moment to ignore the story beats, their relationship was a lot healthier. That lesson I feel was vitally important for me as a little kid. Aaron is sort of who I modeled myself after when thinking about my romance when I was younger, not in the sense of edgy tragic past=cool, but in the sense of caring for your partner, showing love and being comfortable with who you are in your relationship. I've long since abandoned the Aaron copy-paste thing, but those lessons are still with me and were vital to my upbringing, of course now with a bit more self respect, the one thing I feel was the big issue with Aaron's character.

I personally like it, he got broke and had to rebuild over his year alone, he threw everything away for her and would do it again So I personally think a person that went through stuff similar to that, would come out like Aaron or would become very very cold But that's me

I have such. Strong opinions about Aaron and how he was written. And just how mystreet was written in general. It's very clear it was being written as it went along. Nothing wrong with that, of course. Just causes a lot of plot holes and inconsistencies when done loosely. The very strange and gross age gap between him and Aph in Phoenix Drop High is a biggie for starters. How.. oddly clingy and anxious he was in the university arc. Just. Arggh. I think when I was watching it way back when, I just chucked his character development to, "oh he's getting comfortable around his friends to be himself now." Which I guess is technically true? But you made a lot of great points in how his character arc kind of spat on his original concept and ran off in a different direction. My thought would be it's because Jess wanted a pairing she could project her and her husband onto (I think I heard that somewhere from her). I'm currently rewatching mystreet, so a lot of my opinion is from vague memories I had of when I watched it in like, middle school. Anyways, love the video. I love over analyzing characters and doing character analysis on them, so I'd love to hear more about your opinions on other characters, may it be from mystreet or another piece of media you enjoy. If i had to define Aaron's character, he's a loose, simp like character to Aphmau most of the time, but also can be chill, though he kinda lost his chill phase after S4 when he didn't have to keep his life threatening secret from the people he trusts. Honestly, after the Ultima secret, the Lycan family became much more loose.

First off, Great video! Aaron was always one of my favorites especially in the earlier seasons. I feel like the time line in how Aaron acts is a bit confusing. In season 1-3 we see Aaron as a cool laidback, chill guy who wasn’t so shy around aphmau and then everything after he becomes more shy and almost the opposite in a way (which makes sense) but yet we go to FCU and he acts like the more current aaron which doesn’t exactly make sense to me, you’d think he’d act like season 1 aaron. I completely get the personality switch between 4 and 5 due to everything that happened but I sometimes feel like they went a bit overkill with the shy and nervous aaron. It sometimes feels like they’re two completely different characters but also not at the same time (it’s confusing Ik-) but I’m ngl if this video made me realize anything, it’s how much I miss season 2 aaron lol

In the beginning on the video, you mentioned how Katelyn also got bad character development, but personally for me I see that differently. When Katelyn was introduced, she was very violent towards lots of people for no reason really, especially towards Travis where it just became ab*se if anything. I'm honestly glad she had character development because I never liked Katelyn during season 1 and 2 because of this "stereotypical anger issues" Jess influenced onto her and I think it was unfair. But maybe you are talking about other reasons? Idk But onto Aaron, I 100% agree with this whole video honestly. Aaron was SUCH a good character during season 1 of Mystreet, any other series I did NOT like him. 11:02 you're honestly so right for saying this. Of course, I don't like Aarmau, especially with the age gap during PDH.

It’s fascinating how i never noticed these huge changes in character the many times i’ve watched this series. I think it might have been because I originally watched it in the order that the seasons/prequels were being released instead of chronological order, so i saw the characters change little by little. Then once we got to the recent seasons, I didn’t even notice there was a change at all. And besides phoenix drop high season 1 (which has many Diaries references), I hardly compare Mystreet and Diaries. Jess clearly didn’t intend for the story to go where it has gone so I try not to think about the technicalities too much. These series will forever hold a special place in my heart and i shall not let Aaron being dumbed down affect it. 😫✊

i feel like i never realized how much aaron changed throughout all the seasons, but looking at it now i feel like he definitely changed a lot whether that be his opening up more or not i feel like it really degrades his hard, harsh, and trauma filled character, i feel like a lot of the potential he had was basically thrown away as well as all the dumb decisions he made because of that

I agree with your description of Aaron in season 5 and graduation days, but I do think that these changes with the characters were kind of needed in order to make season 6 hit a lot harder. And I definitely agree with your timeline issues, I did notice that and it was kind of annoying but I just kind of brushed past it.

I personally think that if we were to put the my street and the spin-offs of it into order it does kinda make some sense on why Aaron is the way he is but your def right about him having unexpected and odd changes to his character growth

I personally liked how they played with Aaron's character throughout the seasons even if he sometimes had drastic personality changes, I think that's what makes him special. I consider Aaron as that guy who, because of the difficulties of his life, decides to shut himself up in himself and not show his true face until Aphmau appears in this case, and involuntarily makes him come out of this invisible box. According to me My Street is Aphmeau's best Rolplay, that's just my opinion

There are so many rp's and hard to keep up all kinda started off like irl in person game plays and then turning into there own stories. No one really remembers or talks about it anymore but I remember her FNAF rp/ game play series that was slowly going to turn into a rp series but then it was dropped. I can't even remember all of her series but I'll try to list them, MCD, my street, dreams of estara, angel valley, the other valley series, mod mod world, the void series, that one where they looked like roblox characters and go to a RU-vid academy, MCD reboot (kinda can count it), mermaid tales, emerald serect (we don't talk about it), and probably more I'm forgetting

I need to start adding that “Everything was made by me. I’m great at my job :)” bit to my descriptions too. It’s iconic lmao

i started watching aphmau in elementary school, specifically Diaries. it was right at the beginning of the real first season, and id watched her superhero series with some of her friends, and i really got into it. i was #garmau from the beginning, so when a self insert for her husband absolutely decimated the two major developed ships, i was really annoyed. Laurence and Garroth both had really well established relationships, characters, and backstories, so underdeveloped and boring Aaron was disappointing. i checked out after Aph got pregnant and Levin was sidelined. mystreet destroyed two of the best characters up to that point, Garroth and Laurence, and i was not on board. Zane was also heavily defanged. i wish Aph took his issues seriously and presented him in a more respectful way to Diaries, but instead she kinda made him a joke. Zane's motivations for villainy in Diaries had so much potential, but instead he was just a little emo brony kid. this marked the true shift of Aph's target audience to really young kids.

I was a Diaries fan, and started watching Aphmau other series as Diaries was falling behind. I felt like over time Aphuma character kinda felt like a shell of it’s formal self, and I think a huge reason was because, of her expanding into a company.

I’ve seen Aaron in every series as more than just “love interest”, sure, at times it seemed like that’s the only thing he was, but he was always more than that, in my opinion, he’s one of my favorite characters and he’s had a positive development over different seasons.

I didn’t even realize how much he changed, I have noticed that as MS went on I stopped liking Aaron as much as I used to so that helps it make way more sense why I felt like that

Aphmau was my hyper fixation from 2016-2019 (middle school) but as the seasons got more intense and full of confusing lore I felt more out of touch from it. I look back on this series fondly, there are definitely many flaws but I always seem to find myself drawn back to it every once and a while

I always get excited to watch people talk about aphmau,, It was a such a major piece of my childhood and it's interesting to hear from other people what their experiences with it were. There's a lot of problems these series had, and I realize that a lot now that time has passed.

tbh I think one of many awful things aphmau did with aaron was the PDH age gap. Aaron was 18-ready for college, legally an adult by state, while aphmau was 14...it was honestly so gross looking back ngl

I dropped off my street during season 3, but was a long term diaries fan (I was arround pre diaries technically). Anywho, but a long time ago Jess in a QnA admitted she fell in love with the character Aaron and thus making certain character decisions even tho it might not have made the most sence. (Mostly referring to diaries,but this would’ve been near the start of my street) And so my guess is that Aaron’s writing is more based on Jess interests/ more on how “this would be cute/cool” over the months and years instead of character consistency. It was definitely the case with diaries…(pain suffering (._. )) Anywho I would try linking or directing to the exact QnA video, but it’s been long unlisted or made private at this point.

I would love to see your review on My street.(Like what happens in it not just the characters) Since the seasons are a bit big, it would probably be the best to do one season at a time per video. What do you think of that idea?

I miss the entire series so much, I pretty much grew up on her roleplays and watching the development of the characters just grew on me so much. I'm still hanging onto hope that Aphmau might one day go back to roleplaying. I want that blast of nostalgia so bad.

If aaron isn't with aphmau he's that cool kid again

I have alot that i want to state about my opinion but ill only state 1 thing which is how he went from cool chill dude to sweet blushy nervous boyo, i feel like its because he is still chill cool dude but hes just more vaunarable in S6 because of how hes basically outwordly expressing himself more like having his ears and tail out and being more involved and all of that stuff. When on the other hand, i feel as if in the beginning parts of the series he was masking himself, keeping himself more in and keeping his non-vaunarable side out but as time goes on he gets more comfortable! And plus, S6 is him at his most vaunarable state really so hes prob just stuck like that for that bit of the story because of how long hes been hiding away his vaunruable side- And side-note about Aarons family being so increadibly different(specifically talking about melissa) they were taught to be professional and mainly only care about buisness, especially this showing in melissa and how she was raised with aaron to be apart of a buisness, but in s6 you can see them really unravel to their actual personalities and not their buisness-y / cold one! ^^

Its cool to see someone talk about character's timelines and how they changed throughout it, especially when its aaron. I dont see much of the fandom going over or making much comments about him, which is good if they fan over other characters in the story, like i do. But the way you bring it out to the community is interesting and it makes me think it over very hard. I think about how the other characters react to being friends with aaron and what they think of hime, and then i ask questions and "what ifs", i do it with other tv shows and stories i know, but mostly for aphmau since ive been in the fandom more than i can remember. Still the video is very fun to watch and gives me lots of memories. Keep on doing the great work 👍

Personally I love Aaron’s character development

i honestly never liked aaron as a love interes on any of the series. him coming in felt forced and got in the way of ships that were already developing well and it just..i didn't like it.

Laurence's character development was ceasing to exist

I feel like this was just cause he was maturing and he felt comfortable with the friends he made- obviously it was going to change ever since like his secret was out to his friends. He just knows who and who not to trust and yeah he’s traumatized- so no fuck

Anime moment I like Aphmau content since it has such anime vibes 5:23 he became more comfortable with people / Aphmau is what I thought was the point since they realized they were good online friends already

I stopped watching aphmau in 5th grade (2017) bc too much was going on. the story line was getting so strange and wasn't a slice of life series like I needed it to be. it became stupid and was basically minecraft twilight with werewolves and super natural shit. like even now I can go back n watch the minecraft diaries and the my street series. even Phoenix drop high was a cool lil series but as soon as they move on past the vacation point, I couldn't bare it anymore💀 it genuinely was getting so off topic and wasn't rlly following any general story line. back then I didn't even truly associate the different "arcs" with each other lmao

I just miss Aphmau roleplays in general. I’m just glad someone else is talking about this and people still care for these series.

I actually don't agree with MS S5 being out of character for him, because I think it was very understandable. in the start of S5 Aaron was scared and nervous about meeting Aphmau again BECAUSE he was a werewolf now. something he never had been before S4 (atleast not knowingly). like he said before "I don't even know if i have them or not." (about his ears and tail) he was aware he was a werewolf, but he had never actually seen his own werewolf form. I think him being doubtful in embracing a side that he never truly knew of himself is a good reason to be nervous. because keep in mind, although the rest of his family was a werewolf too, they never had their ears or tails out, so Aaron did not get the culture or example from them either. besides, Aaron always had a soft side, in S5 it was just more upfront because we saw him mostly interacting with people he loved or atleast cared deeply about. edit;; I do want to say that this episode was a good overview of his character in general! it's just the part of S5 being out of character i didn't agree with. good video!

I’m just going to share my opinion about Aaron’s growth, (even thought no one asked,)I think the reason he became soft was because of the amount of trauma he went through, his parents,mainly his dad, Ein, and Emerald secret.He went so far having a tough exterior and tried keeping it but ended up breaking, I honestly think that it made sense for him to have a soft personality in what season was it? Six or five?Anyway, even thought it might have been a little weird to see a character like Aaron go from a Chad to a Softy,it only made sense with the trauma he was put through.Anyway that was my opinion lol if u read this props to you!💪😎

Holy shit I haven't watched Aphmau since like middle school. She's like the third Minecraft RU-vidr I was exposed to as a kid, iHasCupquake and Stacy as 1st and 2nd. Man I didn't even know the series was still going.

Personally I think the way Aaron is in mystreet season 5 is who he actually is and the only reason he was calm and collected in the other seasons is was because he had to be and I think season 5 is doing a great job of showing us just how controlling and stressful Aaron's life was before he had friends and was able to take control over his own life again But this is just my personal so don't mind me 😅 they're also I think aphmau was having a hard time telling MCD Aaron mystreet Aaron's personalities a part of the time from season 1 my street to all the way to season 5 that's why there might be such a different personality jump between the two seasons

I had been a fan since Minecraft Diaries, and I LOVED the series, and multiple spin-offs. However, it definitely wasn't all planned and I eventually got weirded out by some of the arcs (particularly Ein) And I stopped watching as I got older. But I still can never forget the hype (Especially Phoenix Drop and Emerald Secret, Love-Love Paradise) and love I had for the series when I was a kid. Should I re-watch it? Probably.

I do have some issues with the puppy attitude Aaron gets in Starlight but I did cry on episode 5 why Aaron is listening to the Aphmau recording so... I like Aaron as one of my favourites no matter what but he has his highs and lows. I kinda want a Zane, Garroth or Travis video next though. Those characters especially the Romeaves went through a lot of changes.

i personally stopped watching when aaron became more of a main character because i felt like she was just trying to include her husband as a love interest. their chemistry seemed forced and it didn’t make sense. For instance in MCD he appeared out of no where while the audience was routing for laurence and garroth. which made this very frustrating for the audience bc it seemed like the chemistry and love triangle between aph, laurence and garroth was pointless and just drawn out for the fun of it. i remember being super frustrated with her as a creator and stopped watching for a while.

I'd also like to point out that ARRON WAS A SENIOR WHEN APHMAU WAS A FRESHMAN IN THE OG PDH

god, i remember hating aaron for some reason. i don't even know why anymore, maybe because of his character in mcd? either way it's really cool to see a video essay on something that was a big part of my teen years!! i don't think about aphmau's content much anymore but your video kinda makes me want to go and rewatch at least mystreet to revisit some of my favorite characters. also gonna second a suggestion i saw from another comment -- i'd love to see a video like this about zane! he was my favorite and his character changed so much over the course of the show!

For the longest time in my Street and Phoenix drop I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that's ever realized they change Garroths personality he went calm cool collective popular Prince charming and had a whole fan base full with girls and was very smart in Phoenix drop I think to dumfounded and too much when it came to his adults ages when everyone in the Minecraft series were all will living in the same neighborhood as they were about to go to Love love Paradise I feel like no one has talked about how his personality has changed from being a smart get the ladies glitter charming type of guy whose chill to an a site of ADHD carrier door braking goofball that's a little too much for my liking.... Like what happened to him and has no one else realize that

Aaron was such a cool character he was one of my favorites but seeing overtime he seemed to be downgraded don't get me wrong his character was still really good just not as before

I like to think the reason why Aaron got worse in season 5 because he is showing aphmau his true self aka his werewolf/Ultma form like we only saw Aaron as an human and us the audience that what we see Aaron as an human but after over an year of being away from Aphmau and the others he start becoming more of his werewolf form like he literally hang out with his pack and they literally call him their Alpha so Aphmau, The Others, and Us the Audience we see who Aaron truly is and what he is For example you could have a friend that you knew for many years but then all of sudden you see that person is not same person that you knew from before What i'm trying to say is Aaron might be human but he is not truly human he is a werewolf and he has to act like an werewolf infront of Aphmau and the others but he still feel uncomfortable about it because he not use to being an werewolf like Melissa, Derek, and Rachel aka Aaron Mom Dad and Older Sister so Aaron trying get use to being an werewolf
