The Deep Dark Lore of Pikmin 

The actual villain of Pikmin 2 is Louie's Grandma, who often didn't feed the poor guy and sent him outside against his will, which likely lead to Louie's food obsession and strange connection to bugs. Had Louie been raised properly he'd likely never have eaten the golden Pikpik carrots and delivered the shipment, never causing the debt Hocotate Freight endured in Pikmin 2

"pikmin on the surface is a cute strategy game" You have 30 days to live on a toxic planet and have to fight giant animals that will gruesomely eat your Pikmin

One thing that makes me think the planet isnt abandoned is that not only are Olimar and the other alien species tiny(so they would be able to come closer to the speed of light when transversing the cosmos, and also experience time differently), but nearly everything is in almost-pristine condition for a nuclear fallout to have occoured. It looks more like the resodents just up and left, or that they're just not around when Olimar is

In the first two games you can also see that the continents have shifted also just that it's blurry and hard to tell but you can see that North America and South America are no longer connected.

Tbh everyones main argument is the Geiger counter and it basically stops there. I think the planet still has humans especially since from Pikmin 1-2 the levels that returned had like tiles and pots and extra things humans would have to add. Plus Pikmin 4 takes place in a modern home so...lol

In Pikmin and 4 there are like 50 guys that crash along with olimar Louie and the rescue corps but it’s strange that the custom character doesn’t crash very Sus ( I know why on a gameplay perspective bc then you would not be able to explore the maps but I mean on a lore perspective)

The information about the crashes in this video is wrong, there is just one crash in Pikmin 3, that being on the Koppaites, Olimar, on his two trips to PNF-404 (going by his own logs and words, his third and fourth trip to the planet) never crashes once. The Hocotate Ship, which would seem had crashed, never did so, at least not on entry of the planet, it gets thrashed by one of the bosses and forgotten on the planet, Before Olimar and Louie go back an get it back on the extra missions in 3DX. And this is something I've seen countless times among the Pikmin circles, missinformation passed on as true without any further review or fact checking... ugh.

Pikmin 4 feels like they dropped all the story beats from 1 - 3. It feels a bit hollow imo. There's even a point where Olimar encounters a Yellow Pikmin and behaves like its his first time encountering it. It feels like it tried to roll together the stories of 1 - 3 while simultaneously behaving like they never happend.

Not gonna review bomb your Pikmin 4 review, I did just wanna say I disagree but I understand Steve not liking Dandori! In my experience so far it’s the best Pikmin yet. Pikmin has always been about relaxed moments and yet also being a game of absolute terror. In every game there has always been some ticking time bomb, whether that’s the 30 day timer or the waterwraith. And I’ve personally always loved the challenge/versus mode ideas that Dandori FINALLY highlights and brings into the story mode- it puts Pikmin entirely back into the same world as any other RTS, where you are usually building up as fast as you can or playing against a computer opponent. I don’t need a human opponent, I LOVE this stuff. It’s what RTS is born of. Playing against an environment (rather than against humans or computers) definitely makes Pikmin a standout and I love it for that, but I’m so happy they didn’t just keep it in that box, if even for just 1 game.

Was this recorded before the release of Pikmin 4?
