Mr Anton joins The Telegraph's Steven Edginton to discuss what has changed since the infamous Flight 93 Election of 2016.

Take this commenter's statements with a grain of salt. He's not addressing the Constitutional reasons why secession, even of parts of states from other parts, won't happen. He also omitted a discussion of President Andrew Jackson in the question concerning the presidential predecessor most like Trump in character, disagreement with forces in his own party, and conflict with the rest of the federal government.

The "Flight 93 Election" essay, this interview, and the rest of Michael Anton's political writing are all the same. Apocalyptic rhetoric, no specifics, predictions of DOOM, name dropping of bogeymen (Biden, Hilary, Obama), constant talk of a nebulous "deep state," and--key to his shtick--lots of talk about Constitutional Rights and a Constitutional Order that's been lost...but he never says in which way it's been lost...what rights is he most concerned about? At what point were they lost? 1954? 1964? 1965? Just guessing... Ultimately, the bottom line is that Michael Anton has been making money and getting attention for this essay for the last 8 years. In his world, it always has to be the Flight 93 Election b/c that's what pays the bills...

When I read alternative histories written by fascists questioning the historicity of obvious things: the Holocaust, the plague, the European arrivals in the Americas, I've often wondered ": are these people malicious liars, or batshit stupid/ insane? How is it possible to believe this or to expect others to believe this?". After 4 years of listening to these people, I'm amazed to see them formulating 'ideas' in real time, dementing the events of yesterday, they were all saw with our eyes. And still I'm no closer to approximating their coordinates on the stupidity to insanity matrix. Only now a third previously unconsidered option had appeared. 100% yes to both.
