This iceberg might be the first meme iceberg ever made as it was made 7 years ago before other icebergs. This also explains why it has dated or irrelevant sites.
Yup! This was the original Iceberg. This was viral in facebook and overall social media when I was in middle school when the Deep web was a huge mystery. Not only that! But, Icebergs tend to be obscure and go down depending on how unknown certain things are, instead of how macabre they are. Atleast modern ones.
It was slightly better than MySpace for me. Led me to some interesting areas of the internet then too. Weirdly, the closest analog I can think of to it now would be Fetlife, but that is more coincidence than anything else since I feel like those subcultures overlap. Vampirefreaks was much more kid friendly and not as focused on dating.
This is what I've heard from someone who worked in RCMP "honeypots" - the RCMP isn't allowed to actually create or host any materials themselves. They are allowed a period of time after taking over an existing hosted service/site to insert metadata/tracking stuff into the payment process for a short time after takeover before they pull the entire site. So it's a grey area where they technically are not hosting materials and entrapping people, but they are able to get more information and continue/start investigations on the users contributing or soliciting the materials. Thought that'd be a neat piece of info for you to learn.
muta you forgot the level 9 web, it has blueprints to the secure version of the algorythmic quantum encrypted AI supercomputation paradigm-linked geometry blockchain node generation network recalescence console
Just seeing "the final boss of the internet" and whatever the fuck buzzwords they used to describe the "lock" that you have to go through to access it cracked me up
No, Digg refers to the actual site I believe, as this is actually one of the first iceberg images. I believe it dates back around ten years or more. Presumably at the time, Digg was more used than now. It's still wild to me that this decade old /v/ meme has been dug back up from beyond the grave.
i hate how i've watched so many deadwing streams that at this point whenever i see a comment from him, i involuntarily hear his voice reading it in my head lol
Vampire Freaks back in '04. It was wild. For weirdos who like roleplay forums it was pretty awesome, or people who really liked Dracula 2000. Great nostalgia
If you ever decide to get a man for yaself, take care of his balls. Some men won't admit it, but we like feeling comfortable, safe and clean down there. And our significant others taking care of our wellbeing helps us feel stronger and loved in this world.
Ok, I just Googled the reason why it was the most lifted book and it looks like bookstore owners would say that to promote selling it (I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of the least selling books, it's simply so old and it's available online) but I also just found out that one of the reasons Bibles started disappearing from hostels after being put there by this group that leaves Bibles around to "promote Christianity" was that people were writing down phone numbers to prostitutes on blank pages of those Bibles and if someone was interested, they were taking the book home with them lol
Man, vampire freaks was my JAAAAAAAM when I was in high school. It was so much work to keep that rating up. It was like mean girls, but goth. Rivals used to spam 1 star ratings on people they hated. It was a nightmare and I miss it so much lmfao but I found out about a lot of great local music and events on there :)
I remember Vampire Freaks and the weirdo predators who used to target lil' goths there. I had a friend who showed me messages she got from 40 year old men looking for a slave.
Bergie (pronounced bêr-ghee) is an Afrikaans word referring to vagrants or homeless people who took residence in mountain forests in Cape Town, but is generally used as a catch-all term for homeless people in South Africa. Assuming the person who made this iceberg is South African, the term "Bergie Web" may be a way to call that part of the internet something that is akin to a homeless person - people who exist on the outskirts of society, but aren't totally removed from it. You know they're there, they are normal citizens, but they may not be traceable the way most regular, documented citizens are.
@@kaamn1829 Haha, first time I took it I was hufflepuff then I got griffindore then for a while I kept getting ravenclaw but when I took it recently I got griffendore so honestly I just think pottermore is playing with my heart😤
“Banned Books” on Deep Web Level 4 makes no sense. There was literally a Minecraft server with banned texts from different countries, and I’m pretty sure it’s completely legal to read and find books unbanned in this country on the regular web
I could give hundreds of examples of books being banned in the western world. Where I live, the sale of a bunch of political books was considered a felony up untill a couple years ago. And where I was born, importing books from a certain neigboring country could get you thrown in jail for years.
@@FubbleSmurf What country are you talking about because I can only think of so many countries and the ones with the most censorship is my mom’s country (Venezuela) and Brazil. But when it comes to media, especially digital media most countries here in the west stay out of it lol. I need to know which countries though because I want to start doing research
Man im only 24... and now I feel old since that he mentioned limewire... i was using that shit at like 8 - 9 years old downloading soulja boy songs and shit 😂😭
I'm in no way an expert and this is just my assumption: I don't believe there are more than three actual levels: - The surface web Basically the stuff indexed by search engines. - The "dark web" Stuff that isn't indexed by search engines, everything from peoples personal information to pages hidden/banned from search engines. - The deep web This is all the TOR/I2P or other hidden/anonymous/private networks shenanigans. Everything deeper than this and it quickly becomes conspiratorial, private government networks, illuminati and the like.
Keep in mind that there is no one place for anything on the internet. The stuff people assume only happens on the deep web/ dark web/tor is readily available on the "surface web" as well.
He's done so much deep web that maybe he should just start doing like you said. I don't have an example but I know what you mean, maybe some 4chan posts or reddit. I've never seen a 4chan vid from muta and he's talked about it loads of times, maybe his favourite paranormal posts or anything else
So for the FTP. It’s a windows protocol that allows transfer of files from a server to a user. The fact that it is labeled under “deep web” could be the buying or selling of web/secured domain files illegally that house important information such as HR documents from a company or domain network information. That’s pretty serious man..
I finally understand why i get so many manscaped ads as a woman... because of the youtubers i watch who have sponsorships with them LOL i was confused for so long
I find it insane how gory reddit is. You can just search any kind of awful shit and it will pop up immediately. It has it all. I've seen tupacs autopsy, chopped up people being sold for their organs, Ronnie mcnut video (I underestimated it), the Russian mechanical accident (if you know, you know), a guy getting shot in the jugular, bleeding out like a fountain and dying in like 7 seconds, human remains being swept away like garbage on the street and so much more I can't remember just because my brain has shut them off. And then there's cat videos. And pron.
@@TaosoftheVoid probably not. That requires the awareness level of a 3 year old. Very difficult for some Edit: also he is wrong on the other front too. Facial hair is a natural response to testosterone, an inescapable secondary sexual characteristic. The only men who don't grow facial hair are eunuchs. Natives pluck their hair out because culture.
I noticed a half hour in that Muta only has one side of his beard attached to his moustache. I never noticed that before. My life is changed. I feel you man.
I subscribed on an old account during my immortal. I didn’t watch those videos until later. Was away for a while but he popped back up in my recommended and it’s so much nostalgia. Glad he has so many subscribers now.
*Mutah be like:* _"If you go on one of those hitman websites, PLEASE check their bitcoin wallet!"_ lmao you might still get arrested, but at least it wasn't a scam!
Ah VPNs, proxies too. Good times, good times. Slapped together a web based proxy and squid vpn in high school, to bypass the webfilter in school and at home on school devices. Memories.
Apparently, the Bergie Web refers to, according to urban dictionary, "the Internet that is not indexed by search-engines, directly accessible and no proxy required." Basically, the final stage of the surface web before people get into the Deep web
28:14 we covered the creation of personality in my sociopsychology class and we talked about eliza and how people felt empathy towards it and how much of a personality can be constructed, really enjoyed it Have a good day everyone
I've seen guides on meth-cooking on the clear web too. In fact, I actively searched that shit out because of a fic I was writing where a character gets roped into helping another cook meth, and I wanted it to be fair and reasonable. I think I found... it was written like a personal advice guide. It was pretty wild.
there have been loads of these guides and many "banned books" available on the surface web for years. I remember downloading a zip file of "banned books" which had things about weapons, making drugs and all that. in fact a lot of the scary stuff on the "dark web" can be found on the surface web and certainly could in earlier internet times, i.e. before services like TOR became well-known to the public. not all of it though - some of the more specialist, disgusting and illegal p0rn or whatever tends to need to be hidden and also I never heard of drug markets like Silk Road on the surface web, although I am sure that many drugs deals have been organised over the surface web, large and small. In a weird way it is almost easier to be safer on a network like TOR than it is in the surface web as you know exactly what NOT to click on, whereas you can accidentally end up in all kinds of weird places on the surface web as we assume that it will be safe. I've never seen cp thankfully but I know that people used to stumble across it on 4chan before the mods got their act together there or other image/message boards, and shock sites used to be a huge thing and the purpose was to send them to someone unwittingly - many people have been exposed to disturbing content by nefarious troll-type people and you don't need the TOR browser to see horrible things. pretty sure that other "chans" on the surface web are OK with cp and other nasty sh!t like that - 8chan regularly has it there so I've heard. I've never seen anything too shocking on the dark web personally. not really on the surface web either but I know that a lot of the stuff that exists on the dark web could be found on the surface web probably if someone was looking hard enough for it.
“Imagine playing Minecraft without mods...Disgusting.” Imagine playing for years without them... *haha* I wouldn’t know what that’s like...not at all edited for spelling
Why was 6 afraid of 7? It's a fairly common question, mostly because when people see 6 and 7 next to each other, it doesn't really make sense. 6 is large, muscled, and trained in multiple martial arts, while 7 is fairly average, physically, and short. However, 6's fear of 7 has its roots in childhood. See, 6 and 7 grew up together, and for a few years, they were best friends. But then 6 kissed 3, and they became childhood sweethearts. 7 secretly had feelings for 3, so 7 decided he needed to destroy 6 to win 3's affection. He started subtly, undermining 6 whenever possible with passive aggressive comments and compli-sults. But over time, things got much more insidious. 7 started messing with 6's performance in school, bringing down his grades and turning teachers against him. Even worse, 7 became great friends with 6's parents and slowly turned them against their own offspring. At night, 7 would sneak into 6's bedroom, and whisper depressing and hopeless things into his ears. Every time 3 was around, 7 would pants 6 and make fun of his genitalia, or try to body shame him in other ways. However, 3 was both smart and compassionate, and saw through 7's schemes, sticking with 6, trying to counter 7's psychological tear-down with compliments and friendship. Finally, 7 decided that he would never be able to win 3, so he drugged both 6 and 3, taking them to an abandoned cobbler's hut on the edge of town. There, he proceeded to torture and maim 3, forcing 6 to watch in horror, unable to do anything to save his sweetheart. 7 didn't kill 3, but instead, put her in a semi-vegetative state. 7 cleaned the scene of his prescence, then called the cops, having 6 blamed for 3's condition. 6 was sent to prison, believing 6 was guilty, 6's parents fell into a deep depression, eventually committing suicide over what they believed 6 had done. After serving 17 years of a 30 year sentence, and getting out on good behaviour, 6, now muscled and skilled as a fighter, thought he might get revenge on 7. But when he finally tracked down 7, he found out that 7 had installed a micro-bomb into 3's body, and should he be killed, the bomb would automatically go off and kill 3 as well. And though she was still in a mostly fugue state, 6 couldn't bring himself to hurt her any further, and decided to try and move on with his life. However, being an ex-con, it was difficult for him to get a job. 6 finally found employment at a diner, which 7 then bought, and proceeded to again undermine and toy with 6 at every turn. 6 tried to find employment elsewhere, but 7 contacted any potential employer and soured them against 6. 6 finally realized that no matter what he did, 7 was going to try and ruin his life, and he resigned himself to living as a broken, lonely man, never able to stand up to the depraved, amoral 7.
oh my god the temporary email services reminded me of the time i wasn't allowed to have a facebook account so i'd use these sites to make burner accounts so i could see what my friends were doing lmaooo
W-wait... I-it's not actually Mysequel, you're kidding, right? It.. It looks like mysquall way more than mysequel but in Canada at least I've literally only only only ONLY heard, even, as someone who has taken half a decade's worth of programming and also someone who runs shitty Minecraft servers, heard it pronounced "My S-Q-L"
@@fgycv "S-Q-L" is the hauty high horse technically correct way of saying it. "Sequel" is the more accepted and common use. I personally have never heard "squall"
Man Newgrounds was my childhood too, without even knowing it. I used to play on sketchy ad-filled websites as a kid just to find a bunch of newgrounds, miniclip, and armor games type flash games, even mentioning those names brings me back
44:20 The actual location of Atlantis is the Eye of the Sahara in reality. All of the groundwater around it is highly salty, with the exception of a single well in the center. It also happens to match the description Plato gave of it, so... If Atlantis ever existed (and personally, it's a decent chance) it would've been there.
