The more I watch your vids, the more I appreciate your tying, Tim. Spot-on proportions and trigger points. I’m a believer that if you want new ideas, you should read an old book.

Thank you for another great video Tim. I tied up a hand full of these in 12 and 14 with hackle and hooks I picked up from you. Hopefully the fish are interested on the PM this Saturday!

@@tyingmichigansbesttroutfli2428 I ran the fly only section 2 weeks ago and had the time of my life. We ran Gleason to Bowman Bridge last weekend and it was blown out. Unfortunately we didn't realize it was blown out until we drove 3h to get there. Great scenery trip! Good luck this weekend!

This is such an excellent dry fly. I tied a few and they didn't turn out evenly. With floatant goo I reshaped it, and caught a small brookie on the second cast.

Tim - I have 2 early season cow full Elk with all kinds of different hair. How can I possibly use deer hair, lol! Anyway - I love your tie but have to respectfully disagree about the benefits of deer hair over elk. I find that Elk is much more durable, does not flair as much as deer and has less underfur, if an early fall kill. I must say that the deer hair that you are using really looks clean and does not have the black tips so it ties in nicely probably even in small sizes. A nice tip I learned on the palmering without wire. Tie in the hackle where you want the body to end, dub to the rear, use your thread to tie down and wrap forward reinforcing the hackle nicely. Keep the videos going, I love them! Jn 3:16.
