Never done the ninja roll or entered the truck? Here´s a few ways for you to get familiar with the positions! Also, like us in Facebook! www.universal-jj.com www.hipko.fi
Greco-Roman wrestling has alot of rolls besides trucking and ninja rolls. If you start on all 4s and top guy grabs the waist you can roll your opponent over via a carry to all 4s again is kinda the basic to start. The truck is a variation of this. You can also do a step over and grab a inverted cradel and do a roll from there. Or crucifix and roll from there. Dog fight has a roll attached to it. Headlock etc.. each position you take you can do a roll or carry from to complete a turn ie roll. Just a pointer if you want to branch out from these basics.
Man.. that back take from being on the botton of half guard was SIIIIIIIICK!!!! Been looking to add some pieces to my half guard. This one is gold! Platinum even.
I actually got the half guard from bottom to work... to a point. I did something wrong but came out in side control on top . I still call that a win. I did it no gi too. Ended up cramping in my calf because of the butterfly hahha. My training partner too. It was the end of a double training session so not surprised. Fluids were running low and it was HOT! Well, HUMID!
thank you, this is one of the moves i'm trying to land in live roll and i keep forgetting the details Its hard for me to go for these because taking the back or getting the mount are always available and I instinctually go there first.
Do you mean the one that starts from the side control? If so, you must keep your knee free, if the person on bottom gets his half guard over your knee line then he/she has the possibility to get your back. Hope this helps.
No disrespect to a Black Belt, but there’s a lot of little details missing in many of the positions and transitions. Watch 10th Planet material for the legit stuff.
Great video, but almost everything you showed could be done without gi gripping.... There is enough of an excesive reliance on the gi in our sport, don't add more to it! ;)
thank you for your feedback. The definition of plagiarisma; the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own. I have never claimed to have invented anything.
