One good tip I have with over 4000 hours of gameplay for solo gameplay: do zero to hero for WHATEVER content you are doing, I like doing it for mists. I buy 4.1 go get some loot bank it and then upgrade my set. Sometimes I make it to 6.3+ and other times die at t5 several times but something that ALWAYS happens is I MAKE silver. sometimes i delay upgrading and squirrel away some money. sometimes I start at t6/7 and see how much I can make before dying (pick only matchups I think are 50/50 or better) and then upgrade only after dying or start over at flat 4. A good way to upgrade is to start at flat 4 ( I have made millions in under an hour on flat 4 sets in abbeys or chests) and then buy runes/souls/relics and upgrade the set you have to 4.3 then sell (or die) and then buy flat 5 and upgrade again. It is both cheaper this way and easier to see your progress. I usually stash all the loot I get in chest in town then go back out.
We used to do it a lot in small scale. Start 4.1, tackle every objective, bait every fight-- Fun. I've tried it much differently solo, which is take every fight in a cheap set just for the content, but not really doing objectives. I will try it your way.
Absolutely! Playing your own build to get used to it is still central part of practice and you're never going to replace it. But I strongly suggest to branch out and play other builds for any new-ish player - it's super valuable to understand your opponent's plans.
I heard your first comment about stop bitching and i already press the like button. Ill recommend this vid to anyone who ask me this sort of questions when im streaming.
That's awesome to hear! I have watched your streams and I know that you're dealing with A LOT of people looking to just vent their frustrations about PvP.
Agree 100% with "no running" rule.. even in those content creators videos, many times the poor souls only run, only after a min to ..only..die.. without any fight back..
yoo I'm new to the channel, love the content keep it up! wish they would add a latin server one day tho, playing with 200 ping is holding me back from really wanting to tryhard the game
Thank you! I feel you on the ping thing - after playing with 150ms for a long time, going to 50 felt like a different game for me. I can imagine that 200+ can be really frustrating in PvP.
Thanks, man! There's lots of nice players out there! Maybe just not so obvious because nice people don't write a lot of chat messages after they win or lose a fight :)))
As a main curse player with low mobility I learned to not run away the hard way against the sweatlords, even if I died I would leave them low enough for others to finish off. You can win so many fights if you at least try especially because the enemy might make huge mistakes to bait you to stay in the fight. After more than 1500 hours of practice and hundreds upon hundreds of deaths I get good paydays every week with a avg of 1.5-2M silver/H, first we learn and only then we can bank properly, so guys don't worry about dying, have some back up sets and give it a try. 😄
The 'you can win so many fights if you just try' is very true. PvP is so full of mistakes and that's great. Also glad that you're turning all the forced lessons you had to learn due to low mobility into an enjoyable and profitable time! Takes a lot of patience to do it all with curse, I imagine.
@@VicZaneGaming Well it does take a lot of time but if you invest your early earnings into spec in the main gear trees it gets easier, the only thing you have to get used to is the flaming people, they curse you after the fight more than you "cursed" while fighting 😆 Also the "radar" and "cheat" reports. Just after I watch your video I got inspired and brawled a spear with 1 tier above me, almost lost but won the fight as he had his finisher on undead cape and lost 50% dmg, only 4M from 6.3 kill , bad SBI, trash rate is lovely 😂
please daddy zane, is daybreaker worth playing in the solo mists? If it is, should i use more or less the same build you suggest for using regular spear?
Daybreaker is in a very good place right now and definitely worth playing in solo mists. Only concern is that you can have mobility issues. Because of this, a good and popular choice is to use duskweaver helmet. For other item slots, you can stick to same items.
there are lot of problems in this game.i m new player.playing 2 weeks already.trying to learn pvp in yelow mists,to not lose anything when die.but there is problem,i die alweys agens 2x better geared players XD so its hard to learn in yelow zones but first new players 100% should play lot in yelow zones before black or red.and i think inveset everying in your set and go to black zone its braindead.i m taking 4.1 set+5.1 wep and that cost me aroud 100k only.i m fighting only 4-5 tier sets, when i see better i just run or trying to do rat job XD
Playing with others also does a lot to help calm your nerves. As a new player trying to go into solo PvP, you might feel a lot of nervousness and apprehension but if you've gone out with a dependable crew 100s of times, then going it alone doesn't feel so tough anymore. This assumes that you are playing with players that adhere to Rule #1 and don't B** during fights though. If not it could be 10 times worse than playing alone lol.
@16:56 this is the hardest hurdle. I make more money crafting and gathering and refining. I feel like im wasting time if i spent 3 hours losing 5m instead of makin 5m. xD
Yeah, I think your experience is relatable to anybody who has a decent economy first and THEN starts exploring the pvp side of game. It's even harder because when you improve your skill, you don't have something clear to track your progress and get the 'number-go-up' good feeling like you get in most activities. You kind of just have to feel and trust that you are actually progressing.
@VicZaneGaming haha to be fair, I do actually pvp a lot. Just not 1 v 1. So it's not being worried about a set for the mists but rather, being worried after dying in a castle siege haha
Glad you enjoyed the video!! I would suggest to decide your IP based on your economy first - to not risk too much right away. That said, I'd stick to 4.1 or 4.2 for a quite a long time while you are learning. Just accept that you will die a lot and there will be many people that you need to run away from because their IP is too high. But you will also find a lot of other 4.1 and 4.2 players that you can fight!! Then, once you feel a bit more comfortable, you can go for tier 7 equivalent and see how it goes.
One thing you have to accept is that you can't play how you want to play to win in solo PVP. The game is hit-run-hunt-kite. I do NOT want to play this way, but the game demands it. Builds that do this best, do the best in solo PVP. Builds that can counter this meta can cheese to many victories while not being optimal. I've been watching such a content creator lately go anti-meta. Thanks for the content, you are one of a kind!
Yeah you're right. But that's always true - the idea of not being able to play exactly how you want for maximum success. You can still play whatever if you decide that success for you is just having fun and not just winning in the regular sense.
can confirm teaching is crazy op. Im only 2 weeks in and play a lot of arena, a friend who is much newer wanted to try arena and wanted to play healer (very difficult). I dont play healer but Ive had 200 of them on my team atp so I did my best. Point is I am now significantly better at playing around my healer and peeling for them
I suck at pvp. I tried so hard. I died so many times without a single kill. Mostly got ganked by bz rz groups. So I decided to max my items. I have now full 8.2 and all level 100+ but still can't even win dual against 4.3, 5.3 players. I have played over 8 months now and still 0 kills. 😢
Great video my friend but there are other question marks in this game's pvp becuase it punish you so hard, such as what if you lose internet connection or electric city? And the other thing is that there is extreamly 0 balance between item prices, i was playing dg 116 spec full set and sides are 100, even if i go 5.3 set to practice ,my set would be around 3-5m while firestaff or other high dmg weapons have like 6.3 set with 500k-1m, then i swap to daybreaker , again i hit 116 spec full set and sides are 100 now, i am building 6.3 set to practice that even if i lose it will not make me sad, how ever set worths around 6 mil. while everyone around me chasing with 100k-500 k sets and almost do the exact dmg that i do.My regular set is full 8.3 masterpiece ,5.4 masterpiece daybreaker with perfect traits x350strain.That is why i will never go bz and it is useless, what they can give me as profit that i already do not have? bunch of poor shits abusing weapons because there is no balance with power and prices. They should add some min.sell price so all the 4.3-5.3-6.3 sets will worth the same amount , but now they even change the t4 weapons with high skills that you can only use if you have t6 weapon , even they will have less amount of set and abuse it anyway they can. I enjoy yellow mist+ abbeys with my 1900 ip and destroying everybody even if i met 8.4's i kill em all and i dont lose anything. Also i go for faction weekly 50k quest by flagging in blue and yellow zone killing all the other low gears. And it is like there is a rule in this game , when ever people see high ip other players, they gather up, team up and trying to kill you.So even they do that in yellow i do not lose anything and it is still fun for me.
Well, the only way I hesitate playing PvP is.... I tried, but they always 2v1 me with lags and logouts. I kid you not, 90% of when I had a gut to go danger zones, my death is the cause of those the other two 5 percent is I'm always overpowered and just decent fight but lose.
So basically your advice is. The game is trash. people cheat, bot and hack, handhold in guilds, monopolize zones, and will screw you in any way they can but you should totally play legit like a loser.
Video idea it’s a series where you invite a total noob and teach them the basics so we can learn with him because he starts with nothing not even knolage
I'm glad you mentioned non-lethal corrupted dungeons, it's an excellent way to improve self-made mistakes. There's also a fair variety of weapons to go against so it also allows you to learn new builds. Unfortunately there's no death recap so using OBS to record and clicking once on each of the enemies spells enables you to see their setup after the fact.
While managing economy and risks are really important, I still always suggest to everyone to go into lethal as soon as they feel like they can. The non-lethal is nice just to understand basic mechanics and spells but if you are already analysing your own mistakes and recording like you mentioned then full loot fights will be so much more valuable for learning!
Hi! Could you please make a video explaining the potions? I am a new player and Im having trouble understanding what do I use when, and against what build ETC ... Tried looking for a video, there isnt one, Thanks.
Nice video as always, i always wait for you to upload new tips❤ Btw quick question how do you hide everything on your screen and only show the player's health bars and names? Like in 4:29
Yes you can absolutely do lethal pvp with 4.1 or 4.2. You can be profitable and have a lot of fun. But I suggest that you try to spec up your items to somewhere around 75+ to at least have somewhat decent item power with cheap items. And accept the fact that you will die A LOT (and probably still make a bit of profits), especially when you are still just getting used to mists pvp.
Hey mate, do you ever consider streaming? I would so love to watch you play spear live and learn matchups, you are really educational love your videos keep it up
I did think about it but for the moment making videos fits so much better into my life rhythm. It's possible that I'll get around to it in the future though so thank you for expressing interest!!
15:32 if you do die alot in one session take a break too or just sit back and watch some clips of your fights sometimes it can get to a point where your brain just turns off and it's not going to get better by just spamming the same content
Yeah absolutely. But they are all quite advanced, I'd say. Currently, when looking at high tier players, you're most likely to find plate armor on prowlers, greathammers and doublebladeds. But it's usually a good idea to stay away from plate armor in solo PvP unless you really know what you are doing.
im having trouble understand my match-ups. i usually sit around 600 ip, im starting to make 4.1 my base gear. even still i see a bunch 1000s 1200s majority of the time. i don't know if i should even attempt to try to fight so see how it goes or even for the experience.
One of the best ways to understand matchups better is to get into those fights. So even fights that in theory 'you should not attempt' can be valuable. But 600 ip is exceptionally low. It's a good idea to farm up a bit of specs first so you can start out with 4.1 gear and around 900 IP. And then you can start fighting other 4.1 or 4.2 players.
As mentioned by other people, there are a few specific builds to avoid like the plague unless you have solid counters. Examples include fire staffs, 1h cursed, boltcasters, sometimes lxbow, and sometimes frost. One thing in common with most of these builds is a large amount of defensives and a high dps output. Unless you have some way to counter their high dps and defensives, avoid fighting them. If you have solid counters, these guys are free money. For example, if you have guardian helm, 1h cursed is free money. If you switch to cleanse on leather helmets and bring gig pot, boltcasters are easy money.
It's a very valid strategy and it sounds like you've come to this conclusion based on your experience which is awesome. It's still very valuable for everyone to get this experience (and die a couple times) to figure out why it might or might not be a good idea to fight certain fire staff or other turret builds. Also, I feel like you can sometimes win these matchups based off of mobility advantage. Doesn't mean that it's worth in terms of risk-reward but possible.
I'll keep this idea in mind! But for now, you can find some answers in part 2 of my spear guide here in ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jjePqOk-9Gg.html
There is a chance because carving is really fun due to its flexibility (similar to the spear). But probably in a more distant future. I will break down many fights against carving swords soon though.
I'm not sure if this is a reference to what I said in the video about general questions or you are asking for advice with a build that you did not specify.
@@VicZaneGaming I'm talking about your spear build. I've seen some people go with stalker jacket ability and some go with any Jacket with inferno shield. I'm just asking which is better especially for a beginner and why if possible?
Very normal and relatable experience. We all go through that. I'm sure that the more combat experience you get, the better you become at keeping your calm and focusing.
Thanks, I appreciate that. It helps to know it's a common experience i thought i only experience that because my friends is so good in pvp even they started 2months ago and i started a year i think and still not good on it
Hey, in your spear guide you said u usually go with roasted. However the t7 costs like 60k while t5 is 6k. T7 feels kinda overkill considering im only going 4.2 for now. Would you say rather go t5 roasted or beef stew? And what about duo mists, does anything change there in terms of food?
You can go with t5.1 roasted snapper in that case. I would still opt for that rather than beef stew. I would also use same food for duo mists but the 1h spear playstyle doesn't feel as strong in 2v2.
@@VicZaneGaming Thanks for the response! Yeah, I feel like 1h spear def isnt the goto in mists but we're still making 2-5x our sets as Battle Axe / 1h spear. Sometimes its tilting af but since spears are at 700 with 11 extra lvls on 1h I cant really be bothered to ff something else rn xd
You are like the old master that kung fu masters learn from. Nothing to do with age, as I have no idea how old you are, but more like the way you drop wisdom in every video!
Your videos are the best. I am going through my firsts frustrations because I am losing lots of silver against high ip abusers or rats. So I started to play my 1v1 more tilted. This video is just what I needed to feel I'm in the right way and I have to keep improving and hold that awesome mindset you try to share with us in your videos. Thank you for your work
That's true! But I would've agreed more with you a year ago. I've started valuing theoretical matchup knowledge less and less over time but having played your opponent's build to know what they want to do is extremely valuable.
I've been following you for a few months already, and I surely say, your content is getting better and better, so far this is the best content I've ever seen
In general, avoid fighting high dps one shot builds unless you have solid counters in your set and have developed a game plan on how you plan to counter their one shot. In general, fires on q1 firewall are not worth fighting as a melee unless you are ip crushing and have a high dps build like baxe. As a ranged kite build like frost or badon, they are a fairly easy fight as you out mobility and out range them so you can just slowly chip away at them. It depends on your build basically
Sounds like a good strategy based on experience. But I think it's worth it for most people to get this experience :) Also don't underestimate the potential of sometimes outplaying such builds with your mobility advantage. Still I agree that not worth in terms of risk-reward most of the time.
Vic, your guides are unlike any other content being produced for this game. As a brand new player only a month into the Albo journey, your content is to blame for my addiction to getting better. No one else is doing what you do, please keep it up!!
@@VicZaneGaming I was initially wondering if the guy who commented was still playing. But yeah man I love your videos, they’re extremely insightful. I played Deadlock but didn’t enjoy it. I have been enjoying Delta Force extraction though.
@@locolboi8082 hey! So to be honest with you, I can tell you the exact day I stopped playing - July 9th: the day Once Human came out. Had nothing to do with burning out on Albion; this new zombie survival MMO just has me by the balls! I'd totally try Deadlock if invites worked for my account, been 8 days since two of my buddies invited me :(( But I think for a hardcore, full-loot PvP enjoyer, Albion is a fantastic game and I will absolutely be back. Also hyped to try T&L this month although I know the beta tests got fairly mixed reviews.
You are correct but bro those advices are going to thrash when a 8.4 2000 ip double bladed guy jumps on my head every time i take a step in to yellow or black zone or black mists. You cant out run them with or with out mount no difference. You have to wait death thats all you can do in those situations. What can i learn from that man. And even the guys food costs more than my build he gets nothing inget nothing. Total nonsense.
