really glad deinosuchus is here, feels like it was what sarco was meant to be

One terrifying thing I learned about these guys recently is that there were two subspecies that lived on either side of the west interior seaway, one side had bigger ones that were less common and the other side had smaller ones that were more common. The western interior seaway is older then the deinosuchus, which means that if you were boating in the late cretaceous you might just bump into a whale sized alligator in the middle of the ocean

I LOVE how the decided to make it lift itself super far off the ground when it walks, it looks so cool and absolutely massive, and it gives me massive gator vibes, just making me think about one walking across a golf course

Name it Lockjaw! And as for colors? Nothing wrong with some glacier blues. So glad one of my favorite Ark Additions is now a proper Vanilla Ark dino! Cant wait to see what you mutate one into! And I absolutely hope we get an Abberation variant!

I hope that the Deinosuchus' stats aren't nerfed down, they are pretty rex like and they are nice. It's cool to see Syntac still delivering ARK videos, despite Ascended's state. Bro is the same old :3

If you want your crocodile names to be boat themed you should name your Deinosuchus "Dreadnot"

as a console vanilla player this was really fun the day it came out i immediately went on my server and tamed a breeding pair

In Scorched I found them on the Crag Cave and Oasis Cave, same spawns that have Kaprosuchus

There was an Aberrant Deinosuchus in the ASE version of the mod, so it'll probably come back for Aberration Ascended. The Concavinator and Brachi also had aberrant varients. Though the only one I'm not to sure about coming back for Ab Ascended is the Branchi, sense Aberration generally avoided adding the island's largest creatures such as the Bronto or Giga.

with your sarco being called raft, maybe call the Dieno "Boat" or "Ship". also does the bleed do a armour reduction effect? i noticed you do 263 dmg instead of the 195. I don't remember that being something it did in the mod

As a non-Ark player, the Deinoshuchus is one of my favorite! It was really awesome when you 1st taimed one.

I love that crocodiles get more love. They are very underrated in their role in prehistoric times. Like after the big Synapsids disappeared at the end of Permian the Crocodilians took over the reign of the world. Like the first big Apex in the Trias was a land living crocodile. They competed with the first dinosaurs, there were even herbivore crocodiles, that reminds of Nodosaurs. They were a very important family during that time period, but they only kept few niches hunting at Swamps and Riverbanks. The Dinosaurs won the competition in every other role on land. There were also pure water crocodiles, which resembled the mosasaurs, but they also were displaced by the marine reptiles

My very first Deinosuchus tame was the brightest pink and purple thing I’ve ever seen in Ark in my life. I love him, his name is Al Capone (idk why, I just wanted him to have a gangster name). The charged bite is incredibly terrifying.

I've always been partial to the crocodilians in ARK, this addition to vanilla is goated.

I want that red glaucus, and that red and blue dimorphodon by the tame was absolutely beautiful.

2nd time posting this, I hope you read this because i think i found a mod you'll love. its called foundation ceilings by Flp. it makes it so all ceilings have foundation support and you wont have to spam foundations. its just like having the old s+ building. Sorry for the repost but you need to try it!

If Deinosuchus can use their giga bite while not being ridden they would be insane against bosses.

The reason people can put their arms and heads into the alligator's mouth is because it only closes it when they feel something touch the inside of their mouth. As long as you don't accidentally touch it or a drop of sweat doesn't fall and trigger their snap reflex, you're gonna be fine. Another way to do it is to desensitize their mouth by sticking a stick in it enough times that they start to ignore the sensation. Do that right before sticking your arm in and you can actually touch the inside of their mouths without them snapping their jaws shut. Saw a video of a guy who used that technique, but got careless and didn't desensitize it enough before putting his arm in. It wasn't pretty.

The first people doing Alligator Wrestling as an attraction were the Tiger family of the Seminole tribes (Miccosukee Indians). It started in the 40s and 50s more as a kinda of "I dare you to do that" and when people driving by saw them do it they would stop and take pictures and give them Tips for various tricks. The whole cultural showcase village attraction started later (1970 ish) and the most famous Alligator Wrestlers were children of The Tiger Family Lee Tiger and Tiger Tiger. Specifically Lee Tiger who performed the show for decades and really perfected the whole thing. As for when Wrestling Alligators actually started the Native Seminole tribes hunted them as part of survival and learning how to handle them was just part of every day life in the early 1800s.

Lockjaw is a classic name but I feel like terabyte would be fun. It’s got the bite/byte thing going on, it’s different from the “giga bite” that the deino can do (although gigabyte would be a fine name too) while still being a large unit, and it’s a virtual creature, and the byte part is a unit of storage on electronic devices

I too love the deinosuchus and it is one of my favorite Garuga critters. I think blues and greens for the mutated croc would be awesome.

Rhamphosuchus ~11m or ~36ft 5. Purrusaurus ~10.9m or ~36 ft(prob what you were thinking of) 6~7 roughly the same size at ~10m or ~33 ft; Euthecodon and Gryposuchus 8. Sarcosuchus ~31ft, or ~9.5m(yes, Sarcos are smaller than everything else on this list, I was surprised too) Granted some of these measurements are estimates because the skeletons aren't always complete but yeah, that's generally the list,

Excluding the saltwater crocodiles, most crocodiles and alligator species are actually super chill and rarely attack humans. They also only ever eat if they are hungry. So those ones you see in shows or zoos and stuff who are always kept well fed are actually a very low risk wild animal. I exclude saltwater crocs because saltwater crocs the exact opposite they are the most likely of all wild animals to try and eat humans, they are extremely aggressive and often kill for no reason (so even if they are completely full they often will still kill things)

I tamed a few Deinosuchus through the mod before WC added it to vanilla. Since they don't use Oxygen and no dinos use Movement Speed, you could be seeing points into the low 50s pretty easily. I have a 50-point Health and a 51-point Melee stat between the handful I tamed for breeding.

the deinosuches works wonders for the water cave, i was able to take a single deinosuchus with only 11k health and 700% melee.

Gonna say it again because i'm a nag, you need a stack mod because 1 meat per slot is just dumb. Umm stick with the ship / ocean based naming for your water creatures. Raft, Barge, Rowboat, Catamaran etc etc. Umm for a neat creature to add to your Ark lineup maybe the Sea Turtle(Archelon). It was always my favorite sea critter in ASE.

The Dinosuchus is my absolute favorite water mount iv used it since i started my server, It was one of the first mods I added when i noticed it was available. I wonder if you can still fire off the back of the vanilla ark versions like you could the mod from ark additions. I saw they said something about tweaking the design a little bit. superior actually, they eat superior kibble. Their spawns are actually locked to spinos. Or atleast thats the case in evolved. Also they were no where NEARLY that common on ASE. Unless you count aberrantion and gen1. Makes me scared if they'll add the damage reduction of wild X creatures to them. Since well it has an X variant. They already have damage reduction as is ;p; Also wyverns can pick them up

So there was a time in Earth's history where Crocs came in all sorts of forms and filled all sorts of niches, there was one land dwelling one with a massive head compared to its body, there were tree dwelling Crocs and even bipedal crocs

Cartoon-like colors would be cool. Try and get a dark green for the main region and some brighter shades of green for the other regions, with brown or tan for the belly

Not sure if this has changed but in ASE I was able to get multiple feeds in after it closed its mouth. Risky though since you could aggro it to you.

I love the deinosuchus i have been waiting for it come to to the game for so long i love my sarcos but they just cant compete, my only two complaints is i realy hope it gets other varients since i want to see a glowy abberation version and two i wish it tail did more. If that tail could be used in the water as both a swat but also a means to give it a little dash forward it would be able to breach and grab birds just like what gators do currently what a sight that would be.
