The Demon Makers of Tatarpur

Every year in August-September, hundreds of poor craftsmen come from all parts of India to an urban village called Tatarpur in west Delhi. They make effigies of Ravan (a demon king in hindu mythological scripture Ramayana). They are preparing for Dusshera an Indian festival celebrated around October-November. After selling their effigies, they return to their homes. This short film capture the life of these workers and how they earn thier living.

Congratulations to Nirmal & Chanchal . Great effort to highlight a community of workers , no one thinks or talk about and are lost in translation . I only wish if it was subtitled or dubbed in English it would have reached a broader audience .

MAI TO ravan banata hoon 9th mai hoon..roji roti ke liye NAHI banata....mera passion ....aur yeh sabh ravan wale..dukhi naaa ho..aane wale saamai aaisi kala NAHI milegi...AAP RAVAN BANATE RAHE ...jai Lanka patiii ravan😌😌

Hi Nirmalji, very nice did u shoot on (Canon mark 2)? Simply excellent, every shot is very detailed and very mild background music suit the entire clip. Great.. Keep going bhai....
