Hey Mike. Great video. A couple of things. The Chiefs, and maybe you forgot this with all of the Taylor Swift excitement, but they ARE the Superbowl defending champions. And they beat the Philadelphia Eagles. I think their team, Taylor or no Taylor are a better team than the Denver Broncos. Denver's not going to the playoffs, and they didn't get there last season. The other question is how much money is guaranteed in Russell Wilson's contract? Because I don't think it will last to 2029.
Denver Native here, and I've never been more embarrassed for our franchise! I honestly don't think there's anything we can do to salvage this season. We suck pretty bad!
Season is over tank this shit and go after Caleb Williams or Drake maye keep Sean Payton another year cut Russell Wilson and eat that huge contract for a season and start again
NFL GMs and Coaches need to recognize the trend. You CAN NOT make a QB elite by paying him like he’s elite. The idea that every QB to get a contract needs to reset the market is utterly ridiculous. Also, if a QB didn’t elevate his last team, he’s probably not going to elevate yours.
This is something I been scratching my head several times. Every time they pay their qb 30 plus million. The team is pretty much shit . Plus never could understand you sign two QBs within a week of each other. One gets paid 35 million. The next gets paid 38 million same skill set. Why did one get paid more than the other? Makes no sense to me
seriously, at this point how many times have a team fought toothe and nail to get a qb. Willing to give up serious capital and picks despite the guy coming off of his worst season of their career. Thinking that with their team they are going to turn it around and make the playoffs. Only for them to have their second worst season of their career.
Russell did elevate the Seahawks though. He did a lot with a bad o line. The mistake was thinking he could do it again without Tyler Lockett and Metcalf. They allowed Wilson to make the plays where he could scramble and get the ball off
Russell Wilson had a great career and put up hall of fame numbers. You can't flip a team in 1yr change coach and attempt to do it again. You need more time.
Even Frank Clark said this wasn't a rivalry any more. Although I will say that from a overall win loss perspective I think the teams are even. During the 80s and 90s Elway owned the Chiefs. Relatively even in the 2000s. Manning owned the Chiefs until his retirement. Now, the shoe is on the other foot.
Sean Payton criticized Hacket's performance as the Bronco's hc last season but his own performance is even worse. That's what arrogance gets you. Wilson may be a little better but you judge a hc on wins, not qb play. As a Raiders fan I thought we had the worst hc in the NFL but I think Payton may be worse.
I don't like Payton much, and you can certainly question his skills as a coach, but I think it's fair to say he's come in and done at least part of his job, he's gotten more out of Russ this year than Hacket it did last year. I know Russ sucked in this game but he has played relatively decent this season aside from this game, and you do have to question just how good the talent around him is at this point. Because the talent level doesn't seem to be there and no QB can do it with no talent around them.
Nah, McDaniels is worse. Not covering for Payton or anything (he has been bad and is probably in the bottom 5) but McDaniels has made a lot of stupid decisions this season already and hasn't changed his horrible play calling from last year. Payton's mistakes look mild when you compare them to McDaniels, and they clearly are not mild.
I feel about Sean Payton the way I feel about Belichick. With Bill, it's what have you done outside of Tom Brady and with Payton it's what have you done outside of Drew Brees.
I've never seen a player drop off quicker than Russell Wilson. Not long ago, a lot of people thought the key to success in Seattle was to "let Russ cook." I'm so happy to see Sean Payton fail. What he said about the former Broncos' coach was inexcusable...even if it's true. What he said was cruel and unnecessary.
@@Lola23339 So Sean Payton said what everyone was thinking. I mean don't you think people are making too big of a deal over this? So tired of this being a thing. It's a fake controversy.
People are gonna think Denver holding the Chiefs to 1TD is a victory. Knowing full well that the Chiefs did not take this game seriously with their play calls lmao
I have a sneaky suspicion that Joe Bidden is in charge of both teams. That would explain the poor decision making and lack of production issues both teams have.@@juanrosales1955
On my predictions i used to have them as I Wild card, now have them with a top 5 or top 10 Draft selection. I got too excited for this team ‘cause of Payton as I did with the New York Jets with A Rod
Russell Wilson was a one trick pony at Seattle but Pete Carroll made it work with what he got out of the other 52 guys on the roster. The real magic Carroll did was selling his garbage to the Broncos for a fortune though. 💰So the first mistake from the Broncos leads to the second mistake thinking hiring Sean Payton would fix the first mistake. Drew Brees made Payton just like Tom Brady made Belichick. Until they find the guy the Broncos are in the vortex. Blow it up like the Texans did because wow they went out an got the guy.
@@scottwatson4584 Agreed. I'm surprised there's still people in denial about the impact Brady had on Belichick. Belichick may have given Brady his opportunity and I give him credit for that, but for almost Brady's entire Pats career, he didn't have dominant playmakers on offense. Belichick was was cheap with signing players and awful drafting players.
It just feels anything that happens involving the Broncos, its happens in 'worst case scenario' fashion. How many times can I say "we're at rock bottom, can only go up from here"?
I’m a KC fan, but I feel like the chiefs almost always play to the level of their competition. If they play a “bad team” it’s a close game with bad play, and if they play a “good team” it’s excellent game play.
Maybe this year that might be true, but that wasn't always the case. I think their major problem is they miss the OT's from last year and they need a good WR to go with Rice who looks like he could develop into something very good if given time and could contribute this year as the #2-3 option.
fellow KC fan and i agree 1000%. doesn’t matter who we play we always seem to play down to competition. its honestly infuriating cuz then you have no clue what to make of the team. are we good? or just average?
@@mlabmediamachinethat is the biggest excuse ever considering KC scored 41 on the bears but had mediocre games against the Lions, Jags, and a broncos team that gave up 70 points against a better offense in the dolphins
Definitely especially if you see that on every drive they would target a different receiver and also that they would get to the red zone with ez then they would make random play calls
Damn, I hate to say it as a Niners fan/salty USC fan, but Pete Carroll REALLY knows how to maximize the ROI in the talent he's working with. Not sure what happened to the Broncos' D this year but last year they were very stout and the whole situation was not too unlike the post Super Bowl days in Seattle. Crappy O-line, mediocre-at-best receivers, at-worst-average D and yet the results are WAY different.
@@MiguelHernandez-vj5gu nah..hard to believe.....raiders sure....rams sure..chargers..maybe.....my SAN FRANCISCO FORTY NINERS.....NAH.......WE DONT NEED FANS FROM SOCAL
@@ofranciscofasho been a fan of the Niners way before that lame bang bang shit was happening and a fan of USC since I was in middle school and Bush and Leinart were there. Tough shit, maybe Stanford and Cal should've played harder in those days. But I root for Fresno State whenever they play USC.
@@ofranciscofasho MY SF 49ers?! Lmfao, didn't know Jed York was in this comment section! Welp, I appreciate that you stopped interfering in the handling of the team Mr York, carry on.
I watched the entire game, and aside from Justin Simmons Picking off Mahomes I had nothing to celebrate for during the game. Not even the touchdown! Sean Payton is bad right now but can be better in the future, so hes not going anywhere next season. If your asking me what we should do: Fire Vacne Joseph, Tank the season in hopes of Calem Williams, and Trade Everyone that we put on the trade block for draft picks.
Wilson & the Broncos resemble Jones & the Patriots. It is remarkable how bad they are. But in their defense, neither team's receivers are worth a shit.
My wife asked me last night “I don’t understand why you still watch them”. This team is the true test of being an honest fan. We have all of the parts but the most important part. Leadership. Russ is not a leader. His head is so distracted by his image he lacks the ability to connect with his team and pull them out of the hole they dug. He is one of the most uninspiring qbs I’ve ever seen. Even lock when he was a rookie did a better job getting a team to rally. I have a feeling we are going to trade like a Clarence sale but if I was them I’d start our backup before having a fire sale. I’d bench Russ to prevent him from getting injured and ride out our second string the rest of the season. Denver needs to develop a good qb and stop trying to get the silver bullet. Manning was an anomaly and that recipe doesn’t work every time. I do wish we could bring manning in as a coach but I know oe that’ll never happen.
Denver needs to do what the NY Mets did and create a "Russell Wilson day" and pay him over the next 30 years to retire. Until they get rid of that contract. They are gonna be held down
Is it safe to say the Russ deal is the worst trade of all time? Denver has potentially kneecapped themselves for a decade while Seattle is laughing to the bank
The storyline here was the Chiefs defense and nothing else. Denver's defense wasn't great, but stood strong in the red zone. Chiefs offense was moving the ball, but faltered in the red zone. Russ was on pace to have one of his best seasons since the SB teams and he got shut down. Under 100 passing yards is a bad performance. The Chiefs defense is stout. They shut down another team that has been scoring and gave them their season low in points. The Chiefs have given Mahomes a top 5 defense. He can look average and his WRs can look bad and they don't need 20 points for a win. PS. Reid's use of WRs really feels like an extended preseason through the weaker part of the schedule.
I expect a Buffalo bills type arc where they get absolutely destroyed by a division rival, but at the end of it they get vengeance on the fallen dynasty.
It's doable when u think your team just needs that one piece that one player to be whole but this is not what we got here this is problems from the ground up coaching staff all the way to the players themselves
Mike Rob looking like Mike Myers when Kanye said Bush 2 doesn't care about black people after Katrina when Steve Smith uses the term "NINJA" in relating what Jeudy said to him is the funniest thing I've seen today!
Not a single Bronco receiver was getting open. It was shown on multiple replays. Also Peyton needs to stop running his mouth he's just fueling beatdowns at this point (certainly a factor in the Miami and Jets Losses). The whole thing amuses me because sure as heck as a Steelers fan we don't have a lot going on offense either. Fire Can-uh-duh!
I will say one thing, if these roles were reversed and Juedy was a broadcaster with Steve Smith getting called out, I’d bet my life savings on Steve getting over 200 yards receiving. He thrived on shit like that.
This is what Payton's arrogance and thinking he is better than every other coach gets you. Also the owner for just throwing money and draft capital at has-beens like you're the Yankees.
That’s ridiculous. A grown man throwing a tantrum on tv or more like taunting another man. Wearing a football uniform doesn’t mean ( thug life) geez dude get some restraint in your emotions
Caleb Williams doesn’t want to be a bronco. They weren’t on his list of teams that he wants to go for. The only team that has a real shot that he actually wants to play for is the raiders
i think sean payton should have a serious talk with wilson and try to get him back to his old self not a pocket passer but a qb that spends 90% of the time out of the pocket and give him a o line it looked sad during this game i really think if russ could let go of it ego and be humble like he used to be without an agent and be a likable person again that he could be good again
This is why you don't hand out participation trophies. You grow up and become like Jerry Jeudy. You can't handle criticism and act immature when someone gives you fair criticism and/or advice.
Yea I understand that the broncos have one of the worst defenses in the league, but you have to keep in mind that this is a divisional game. Divisional games tend to always be closer than non-divisional games due to the fact that each team has a better understanding of how both teams play.
