I think a big part of his problem last year and his whole NFL career so far with the Jets is he’s received little to no QB coaching. I’m not trying to make excuses for his play, but the Jets have not been exactly known for developing quarterbacks. No QB coaching along with one of the, if not the worst offensive line in football last year contributed to him being that bad. I think he can have a chance with Payton coaching him up. Not saying he’s going to be good, but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up being decent and proving people wrong. Maturity, a good QB coach, and a better O-line/team around him are things he has this year that he didn’t earlier in his career.

Exactly. I loved the video I just saw from QB Coach Davis Webb talking about Zach and having also dealt with multiple OC's, offenses, and general mayhem in the the QB room. It seems like there are real professional coaches here with the Broncos from top to bottom on the offensive side of the ball. This is stark contrast to the DL jock sniffing Salah.

@@Osamas_worst_nightmare Yes he did indeed! It seems like any time the pathetic Jets O-line performed at even an average League level, Zach lit the joint up. Mostly however, the O-Line led the league in being not only the worst for pass protection, but also for run blocking, a woeful combo.

A competent team wouldn't have drafted him. If other teams thought he was talented the Jets would have been able to trade him for a lot more.

Russell Wilson very intentionally cultivates a "nice guy" PUBLIC image. I have seen zero indication that he is anything but a huge jerk behind closed doors.

I'm not defending Sean but Russ was poor. He had Jeudy wide open in the Texans game and didn't throw it at him. Russ is too short to see the middle, most of the time.

When they cut Russ, you knew they are tanking. Also they traded Simmons, that was sign also. And they traded Judy which is also sign. Also they didn't sign any good player in FA. Plus Sutton asked for trade, so yeah they are tanking badly.

The broncos need this. Rebuilding is the only way out of this rut. Not saying Sean will be there long term either.

As you said, "...3 years in New York...", which hasn't done him any good; and arguably, probably did a fair amount of harm. Interesting to see what happens.

As a Broncos fan tonight will be what decides what the plan for him is in Denver. The Broncos could take a QB at some point or if they don't then it's a three way training camp battle. I think he went to horrible situation with the Jets, if he is the starter he will have the best o-line of his career and the best coaching staff he's ever had. I don't know why but I wouldn't be mad if he was the starter week one, probably because he has some talent if you look at some of his throws. Sean Payton has a habit of fixing project QBs, going back to his time with the Giants.

Want to really make sure he gets messed up, give him a rookie QB coach who has NEVER QB coached before, and have him supervised by a Head Coach that has totally checked out on the offense, too busy drooling over the DL.

I concur, and this competition is WAY more fun to watch. All three of these QBs seem to be excellent young men, and this ongoing storyline in the background will provide a compelling aspect to every game. Who is the Starter, who is healthy, what happens in an off game, how quick is Peyton to switch QBs during the game, whose Mom bats her eyes at Zach... all these bear watching.

Compare that to the Jets now... how soon does Father time snap Aaron's other Achilles, brittle 35 year old Tyrod Taylor steps in and promptly gets snapped in two, Jordan Davis watches helplessly, with his knee still all mangled.

Father time is calling out for you Aaron, and nobody beats Father time. Changing the GM on down will still leave Woody Johnson, and the cancer starts at the top.

I believe that Zach is psychologically strong enough to shake all of the BS off, catch his breath and continue forward in a positive and winning mode for another 15 years.

Picks from the 6th round on are all just darts. Also the Jets are still paying half his salary. So the Broncos got a prospect that may or may not pan out as a long term back up for under 3 million with starter experience. The Broncos got "FLEECED" by the Seahawks though.

Someone didn’t watch him then. Yes the competition was bad, but Zach went off and improved immensely. Also it was literally a covid year so everyone except a select few programs really actually faced competition. Zach was overdrafted, but it wasn’t because he didn’t have talent, but we just weren’t able to see the flaws.
