At 9:43 in the video, I state that it seems PHEV models don’t have the compass turn function. This is incorrect! Both EV and PHEV models have the e3 system with compass turn and other functions as standard, it simply hadn’t been activated on our test car for the event. Apologies for the mistake!
it would be very intresting to do a video about the most and least reliable of these cars, kind of how carwow does it, these videos are always very insitefull. Thats if you can get your hands on a big enough database from an insurance company of course. Love your vids btw keep em coming!
I only bow down to God almighty not anything else, no human, no statue, nothing but to God, so please don't repeat that again because it's disrespectful. Ps: I know it's tradition in some areas, but, also offensive in other cultures, thanks 😊
To be honest. You might be right. Other than one thing. The way they drive! You will hear Ethan say ps5 steering wheel feeling. That's what kills me. We own Chinese cars, here in China and they are great. But they don't drive like a Cadillac or a bmw
BRING IT TO THE UK !!! This not only looks awesome, has performance to die for, but also has a great audio system, great interior, and what looks to be very comfortable seats. And it's 30% of the price of a Porsche.
Fun Fact: Denza was a joint brand 50/50 invested by BYD and Mercedes years ago, but this brand sold poorly in Mainland China market, then BYD took 90% shares, and here we have these brand new products, and they are selling well. Edit: BYD holds 100% shares of Denza since mid September 2024.
Can't Believe what if Denza is sold as Mercedes. Denza Z9 for 50,000$? No. Mercedes Benz CLZ 63eL (PHEV) AMG shooting-back version for 500,000$!Correct😂
When you mentioned that the small ventilation motors might break later on you reminded me of my dad. He didn’t want to buy a vehicle with electric windows when it were first introduced because he said it will break 😅
Tariffs in place by the US/Canada will prevent such vehicles from entering those markets, but Chinese cars offer such compelling features that the US producers will not be able to compete outside of those two countries and will become small local players only. China keeps putting out vehicles that people want, they're interesting, they're exciting, they have amazing features and they sell them at prices that people can afford. They are going to dominate world markets.
The cheapest car in the United States is only sold for $10000 in China. Nowadays, Chinese cars are much more expensive than American, German, and French cars, but overall, they are still cheaper than your country.
It has the styling and interior from Porsche Panamera, Mercedes, VW, and a bit of Tesla with excellent price and size. I don't think tariffs can give enough time for legacy auto to survive in their own countries
All cars are inspired by other cars one way or another. What's your point of bringing this up? Did you bring up the same thing when commenting on other cars? Genuine question.

I really like your shows! Very informative, entertaining, right mixture of sarcasm and serious and fun! You give excellent insight in this fascinating market of eV! Thanks!
OMG. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, and others car makers could possibly catch up with Chinese tech, BYD come up with this. And this is 'just' a family sedan!! I'm sure what they are planning today will be released soon enough to set yet another benchmark. Thank god for Chinese automotive prowess.
The moose test requires a perfect combination of intelligent control technology, advanced air suspension and intelligent driving assistance system, stable chassis and tires, and DENZA has obviously achieved it, which is great.
Another 1000HP car? Old news boi! Surprise me with something new, what about 2000HP? Sounds better! I want cars to have so much power that when pushed full throttle they kill the passengers inside!
I think the rear could be easily improved by simply making the taillights either narrower or thinner. They're just too big, imo. Otherwise the design overall works well.
I am impressed, and I hope that if Stellantis does spin off Chrysler to the private party that is willing to bring BYD into a partnership, that this will improve car making in the Americas.
An excellent video, as always. And I really appreciate the comment about the small electric motors in all of the 'greeting' items. I want to love Chinese cars, but my worry about a lot of the fancier functions lasting in the long-term doesn't feel unfounded.
It's just tech overload, but still actually this kind of EVs should be made by Jaguar, Cadillac, Mercedes 🤔. Chinese automotive industry is really coming out strong 😊
Again a great review of a great car. I agree with you on the interior design, I also don’t like the crystalline switches. Looking forward to your review of the Avatr07!
Simply, what a car. Fearfully enough to compete with Porsche and forthcoming electric Jaguar. When will come the SUV… European manufacturers have a serious issue ahead (if not yet there)
love the shade thrown at 8:12 european brands have been trying but america is a joke. EVs require less overall maintenance but every dumbass i know in new jersey is afraid of "EVs catching fire every day" despite never actually seeing one on fire. the car dealerships of america have an intense lobbying arm hellbent on spreading FUD. this denza is lovely and AFTER tarrifs is still cheaper than most high end SUVs by domestic brands
DENZA Z9GT's rear wheel steering is NOT the same as EQS, Z9GT's two rear wheels are controlled independently, they can turn to same or different side, i.e., can toe-in and toe-out to create better braking performance, stability, or turning agility, which also enables the elegent drift-in parking ability
10:41 As a Frenchman, I will say that while is pronounciation isn't exactly perfect, it is far from being outright bad. Hence, you get the official french stamp of approval. You should receive your congratulatory croissant and wine in the mail within five business days.
That would be way more expensive and will not sell because most people opt for the PHEV version. The PHEV version is cheaper and travels more than 1000km.
For those harping on design, its not done by a few Chinese peasants in a sweatshop, but by a German dude who's got a long history of designing European luxurry cars that we all know of. If it helps, Denza is a JV of BYD and Mercedes Benz.
Denza is almost entirely owned and controlled by BYD these days. Back when it was 50:50 BYD and Merc, those Denzas were pretty mediocre. The brand didn't really hit its stride until this new wave of BYD designed Denza models.
Yeah, it's 90:10 now with BYD calling the shots, and that shows. The brand is evolving in the right direction, with its build quality and engineering at par with the ICE luxury brands in West. It's a shame that we don't have these cars across the world.
this brand was a piece of crap when Mercedes was in charge, and just couple years after Mercedes quits, they made this. Me being a long time BMW owner, i can't even look at those garbage German makes in recent years. just goes to show how uneducated, uninformed, and ignorant you are.
Looks pretty damn good; too bad the interior is ruined by that hideously oversize center screen. The chinese are still not quite there yet, when it cmes to the art of subtlety.
The thing is people in china buy EVs because of the screens, connectivity and the high tech features. It's different from the western market. Plus this was designed by a former Audi, Lamborghini designer called Wolfgang Egger
@@santostv. modern European cars have plenty of tech and gimmicks too, but they try to integrate it seemlesly into the core design, rather than beat you over the head with it. There is no benefit to that screen being so stupidly big. I think Porsche is best in the way they integrate their screens and tech features into their interior. And they still have plenty of screen area, but it doesnt feel they take up half of the interior, or actively intrude into your field of vission while driving.
I just drove my first Chinese car, excluding our Chinese made model 3. Did a 3500km trip in a Li L9. Positive - seats 6 in comfort. Quiet ride, excellent infotainment screen. No need to stop at a charging station. Large fridge to keep your drinks cool. Massive rear seats screen, kids loved it. Love the tiny screen on the steering wheel, can see all the important bits without looking at the center screen. Negative - poor fuel consumption, avg 9.2l/100. Passenger screen is blinding at night, impossible to see passenger mirror at night if screen is on, we kept the screen off during the whole journey. Limited voice commands in English.
Do you know why we haven't seen the explosion of racing supper car in China EV market yet ? Right now we can only see 2 or 3 supper EV. That's surprising low
