This is absolutely phenomenal. I think your cover is much better than the original, just so much more depth, meaning and emotion.. Please keep making videos, your channel will blow up!
That depends on the piece... When i learn a piece i play it by notes. Mostly that goes very quickly. To memorize, depending on the piece, takes a little longer ... 😊
Great work. Your speed on this is amazing. This is the first song I'm learning to play on piano. Ever. Probably a dumb move lol. This piece is DECEPTIVELY simple. I think of it like a math problem that you look at after it's been solved and think "wow, that was easy." But it was late nights and pages and pages of dead end equations that pulled the proof from the ether of the universe. That is this song.
It's actually a quite simple piece. And that just shows that a song or melody does not necessarily need to be a symphony or a theme of extreme complexity to find incredible beauty in it. That's why I also love Michael Giacchino's work. He, just as Max Richter (the author of this piece and the rest of the 'The Leftovers' soundtrack), is a well-known soundtracks composer for series. As a matter of fact, he composed the soundtrack for 'Lost'; a show that coincidentally (or not so much) had the great Damon Lindelof as main writer and producer, which happened to be the main writer and producer of 'The Leftovers' as well. Among other successful shows and movies such as the film 'Prometheus' and the HBO sequel of Alan Moore's graphic novel, 'Watchmen'.
I also recommend the fantastic french musician Yann Tiersen. He plays the piano, the accordion and the violin. He has beautiful pieces. And many of them are not complex at all. And in the end, I'm not sure if it's not more difficult trying to compose a beautiful song or melody by making it simple than by making it complex. Because with the first option you have less resources. Less chords to make use of, less music arrangements.
Wow, I really love this one 🤩 Which music sheet did you start from? The ones I’m finding on the Internet (or in Richter sheet books) are quite different. Thanks!
