As someone who works with special needs adults, this is exactly how they would act if they were given any sort of fame, from the songs to the lying to the angry outbursts.

I was talking about this on one of sonichu psychology's videos. a person can be disabled and still be conscious of guilt meaning they know when they're doing things they shouldn't do. this means their disability isn't excuse. to get declared not guilty by reason of insanity, there can't be evidence of premeditation/planning and or they weren't operating within reality. and even people who were suffering from psychosis have had difficulties getting insanity pleas to go through. andrea yates had post pardom psychosis that culminated in her killing her children richard chase had schizophrenia that manifested in him displaying clinical vampirism and the cotard delusion and he couldn't get the insantity plea to stick in the legal proceedings for his killings.

Stories like Daniel Larson are what make me realize that for all the positive ways that social media has affected the world, it's done just as much damage. "Danderson" is a person who is both psychologically impaired and severely depraved, and exposing him to the world wide web, where countless people are all too ready to take advantage of his incompetence and deranged thoughts has facilitated him to do far more harm than he would have been capable of were it not for his online presence. People like Grace VanderWaal and Sky Brown have suffered at the hands of Daniel largely because the internet has convinced him that he's an influential public figure in an attempt to derive entertainment from him unknowingly humiliating himself. What an absolute fucking mess.
Its honestly crazy to think i met this guy in real life. Im from Colorado and one day my friend said he wanted to go to Denver to find this person named Daniel Larson. We went to Denver and prowled the streets and eventually found him. The dude is insane. I had no idea the lore behind this man was even crazier.
I was a direct care worker for 3 years, working with teens / young adults with mental / physical disability, trauma, abuse, etc... Daniel reminds me of a lot of the people I worked with. Abused at a young age, heavily disabled - (Thank god for the grandmother) and just didn't seem to have a f*ckin' chance once he was left to his own devices. While that doesn't excuse his actions or what he's done.. Just a sad story all around. I hate to see people troll a heavily disabled person with a clear long list of problems. Leaves a sour taste in my mouth, y'know? Thanks for the vid Tom, I shall now leave you alone!
Said it better than I could have. Its clear Daniel needed/still needs a LOT of care, and his internet usage to be monitored. I notice this about many LOLcows who were taken care of by grandparents/older parents that didn't have the tools, skills or resources to get the individuals the help they needed. While the first foster home may not have been a good fit, I am not so sure if being raised and cared for by his grandmother did him any favors.

Dunno man, this is perfect case for 24/7 instutationalization, no access to internet, therefore no trolls. Imagine if Chris Chan didn't have access to the internet and was actually enrolled into specialized school for autists, instead of everyone pretending he's normal kid. Yeah unfortunately people don't understand the consequences of provoking someone like Daniel. But I also think that he's beyond living a normal life outside a institution. For his and everyone else's safety he needs to be committed before he does something awful. And frankly it's a matter of when not if for him.

It's actually not too unrealistic that Daniel got trench foot, the accounts in WW1 were very extreme cases, but you can get it just by wearing wet socks for too long, I got a pretty minor case at summer camp once
Hi, long time Larstorian here. Overall the video was pretty good and it was funny to see myself in a couple moments of the vid lol. But I would like to make a couple things really clear about Dan: 1. The system did not fail Daniel, he failed himself more than anything. He has been granted opportunities time and time again to improve his conditions, but he wouldn't take it because he believes he could make more money e-begging online. 2. He did not come from an abusive home. While the Tennyson Center news segment says so, his own mother as well as Daniel himself admits that he was the abuser in the household. He recounted several times about how he would hit his wheelchair-bound mother and push his grandmother when he wouldn't get his way. 3. The trolls do not treat him better than his housing. I see an awful lot of comments saying this and I want to make it clear that all the people at Lootbox productions gave up after a single week of "helping" Daniel. All they did was further his delusions. They were too afraid to tell him Grace wasn't actually dating him, and kept boosting his ego based on nothing. They quit after realizing the pedophilia allegations were legitimate. 4. He does actually have Trench Foot and Scabies. I know you did mention this in the vid but you kinda said it in a joking manner, which is fine because I get it, this stuff does seem weird to people who haven't been with him a long time. But Daniel has legitimately awful hygene. Whenever given the opportunity to shower he whines and complains. He has gone 8 months without one as of now. IF YOU SEE DANIEL IN PUBLIC DO NOT TOUCH HIM, you may actually get some sort of infection, I am serious. 5. Daniel is not worth your sympathy. Do not try to "help" him by becoming a manager, do not donate to him, he is seriously not worth it. Yes, his situation is bad, but time and time again Daniel has proven to me that he is an awful, selfish, abusive person. If you want to donate to him, fine, I can't tell you what to do, but think about this if he somehow wins your heart.

I think when it comes down to it, people like this get by through the help of a string of people over the course of their life.. because no one person is that strong/patient/kind/forgiving/resilient. As someone with a cousin with severe mental handicaps this makes me truly sad. I don’t think most people realize that disabled people who may appear somewhat functioning and “normal” are actually living in a completely different reality in their broken minds, and it often gets worse with age
I have a mutual friend with Grace and around Christmas we were talking about how it is still such a problem she's trying to get a restraining order put against him to get him to stop. She was going through collecting evidence from his accounts and there is plenty as you can guess. Hopefully something comes of it because I can't imagine getting stalked by this creep.

Major update, but Daniel was arrested by the FBI on April 30th and is currently held without bail. He's facing 7 charges, namely due to his numerous terroristic threats over the years (carrying a maximum of 10 years in federal custody). Sufficed to say, I don't know if Danny Boy's getting out of this one, but if nothing else, he'll hopefully get the mental help he so desperately needs at long last.

@Art Vandelay He does, but apparently the state of Colorado says hes sane enough to be his own caregiver, even though that's obviously not true. He'll never get help unless he is forced into it, most likely by physical means. Dude needs his phone taken away, and you'd have to put him in a padded cell when you do that because he would go apeshit and start hurting himself. If he weren't so disabled, he would be in jail right now, but the courts and jails could not care for him. He would just be a burden on them, so they let him roam free. It's a messed up situation. My brother has autism, and I have ADHD. He and I were isolated for the majority of our teenage years. Now that we live in an apartment, we have trouble having social interactions with anyone else. There is a struggle. Looking at this story makes me wonder what the alternative could’ve been….
I understand how you feel, I am autistic as well and after hearing this entire story? believe me when I say you should not worry since you and your brother would not have gotten nearly to the point this man reached unless you were awful people inside. this man is not a representation of other disabled people.

Straight up homeless people get trench foot all the time. Wearing sweaty shoes and walking all day as well as lack of access to clean socks and bathing facilities will damage your feet in a matter of days. I was homeless for 4 months a fee years ago and I now have permanent nerve damage in my toes from having early to more severe stages of trenchfoot on and off for those 4 months. I'm saying this because I sensed a tone of incredulity when trenchfoot was mentioned towards the end if the video. It's definitely a real problem that many homeless people face.

@@sif7099 I went to treatment for substance abuse, and then moved back in with family. Pretty much the kindness of others and their willingness to help is what got me out of that life.

Unfortunately, a lot of these guys will end up in group homes that are not equipped to deal with them. Judges usually give these guys the choice of jail or a group home.

A lot of the things you've mentioned (thinking he's famous, has record deals, is in relationships with celebrities, that girl died etc) are symptoms of delusional thinking common in bipolar mania, which you mentioned he was diagnosed with in childhood alongside other neurodevelopmental disorders. He's a very unwell vulnerable young man without the care and support he needs being manipulated by online trolls into doing awful things and they feed into his delusions too which is incredibly dangerous. He reminds me somewhat of chris-chan in that way; someone that should've been in supported living for a long time but was let down by those meant to support them and instead left to be abused by the sickos that find them online. He should be in a home with supervised internet access for his safety as well as the safety of others.
The difference is that Chris-Chan, despite being seriously autistic, wasn't actually violent to people. Daniel Is, and he thinks that his issues excuse that behaviour. Beating his sponsor while driving then asking why Bob attacked HIM is seriously wrong. Making excuses for his behaviour isn't going to help matters. He's already been in homes and even then, he'd smashed the place up and been asked to leave for other's safety.

Daniel's behaviour is very typical of unmanaged bipolar disorder, and because of that and his other disabilities he should be in either a residential home. There are different kinds of homes for different needs, my best friend is permanently disabled from being assaulted by residents when working in a care home and she had colleagues have fingers bitten off and eaten. I agree he should be under 24/7 watch with limited freedoms, but prison is more harmful than treatment for him and people around him, not to mention usually cheaper. I'm not making excuses for his behaviour at all, but if it's possible for him to actually be free from this behaviour rather than just keeping him away for a short while don't you think it's worth exploring?

when I got introduced to dan around 2+ years ago, I felt pretty bad for his situation considering the people manipulating him, but as the days went on I realized how much of a terrible person he can be. I mean, for instance, when his grandmother was going to die, instead of him going to say goodbye he went to a soccer game instead and was known to beat both her and bob

Edit: Before I saw this video, I didn’t know who he was. After more research I want to say I no longer stand by this opinion. You can only be a victim so long before becoming a victimizer. He is a danger to kids and needs to be locked up in a ward. A terribly sad story all around. He was failed by genetics, parents and our health care system in America. That being said, I’m a young woman living in LA. I’ve encountered men and some women like Daniel, and it’s HELL to be near them. The sexual harassment and threats can really take a toll on the people they harass. I have sympathy for all parties outside of his parents!
The Healthcare system didn't fail him nearly as much as you think. He has repeatedly caused thousands of dollars in damage in any group home or caretaker's home and severely abuses anyone who tried to help or take care of him. He abused his mother & grandmother at a young age. The system tried, but Daniel runs away or abuses it every single time. He repeatedly records his caretakers without consent and screams at them constantly. He's also just a narcissist prick.
@@dffgffffffdddddddddd it absolutely didn't. He's been on multiple medications but refuses to keep taking them(punching his caretakers for telling him to). He's be institutionalized, and will escape regularly. He's a horrible person, and the system has honestly done its best for him. He's extremely abusive and there's a point where the system can't do any more unless they give him little to no human interaction. The state he lives in is know for its great Healthcare for the mentally disabled, yet he's such an awful person even it can't do anything more. He's done so many horrible things with no one's influence other than himself. You can't just say it's the fault of the system. He's more aware than you think.

As a former group home worker I feel sorry for the staff that had to work with him. I can guarantee that his care program had some stipulation limiting the amount of time he can be on social media.

There's a resident that has a lot of the same behavior with having mental issues and delusions. I'm incredibly glad none of the guys I take care of have access to platforms like this, since they're already struggling to get their lives together.
Trench Foot was caused by the Boots Soldiers were wearing. The Boots let in water and they wouldn't dry overnight, meaning the feet of the soldiers were constantly wet and rubbing against the boots insides every single day. This can still happen in the modern world if someone has a pair of Boots they easily get wet and take forever to dry and wear them every day because they have no choice. A similar issue can occur if you are simply working outside in rain all day. Most people can dry their boots after they're soaked, but that's not always the case, especially if you're Homeless. I'm not saying Daniel got Trench Foot, but, I'm saying that getting Trench Foot is still able to happen even in Today's World.
You know what, it took me years of hard work and therapy to overcome my issues to the point of being a functioning adult and I've been advocating for it for so long. But...I see the errors of my ways. It takes way too long, when we could all just be flashing people at public parks!! I'll start doing this now. Thanks, Turkey Tom!

@@Douglass10 absolutely not, he knows exactly what he’s doing. How do you explain him apologizing about shit with a guilty conscience? He knows the difference between what’s right and wrong. How do you explain his change of attitude when confronted by law enforcement about his behavior and wrong doing? One minute he’s manic and absolutely delirious then the next he’s talking to the cops downplaying his actions and explaining with seemingly a clear head, trying to weasel his way out of any sort of blame. There’s NO excuse for his predatory behavior, it’s been made very clear to him that it is wrong and he continues to do it over and over. If anything trolls are just a byproduct of his continued expression for his predatory behavior, and is justified as he never has faced jail or any real repercussions for his destructive behavior. He deserves everything bad that happens to him, and his mental capacity is no longer an excuse for him. He isn’t harassed for no reason, or just because he’s looked at as easy pickings. He dined and dashed the restaurant I work at in Anaheim, CA a couple weeks ago. He has scabies now, and was arrested by Anaheim PD for dining/dashing the Cheesecake Factory close to my work. Idk what will happen now but he’s clearly a mess.
@@burntramen400 Scabies isn't caused by poor hygiene. The human itch mite can only survive three days away from human skin. So, unless you are in contact with someone that is already has Scabies you won't get it just by being dirty.
