I'm a Rochdale fan. I'm ONLY a Rochdale fan because my Dad took me along one day and I saw Paddy McCourt play and after that I fell in love with Rochdale and football. He's the Derry Diego. Not Pele.

An absolute throwback.

I had the pleasure of watching Paddy at Rochdale home and away John Hollins ex Chelsea player signed Paddy, he ripped the opponents apart. He went past three, went back and went back again and beat them again . He did this numerous times. At Macclesfield we were winning 2 nil. We lost 3.2. Heading back to the car paddy and flitcroft were coming out of the burger King. Paddy had left the game earlier. In a thick Irish brogue asked us what happened there then. 😊

ppl might say he could only do mazy runs but I went to see Celtic v Livingston, around 2010, and I watched him closely. He covered every blade of grass as they say and worked very hard thru the game. I do remember the same game Stokes standing say 15 yards from the halfway line demanding the ball and giving his team-mates stick if he didn't get the perfect ball. Just sayin....

Paddy had Davie Cooper ,George Best skill but fitness was issue It possibly came too easy for Paddy skill wise Just never understood why couldn’t get him fit As Rangers fan I would’ve loved had Paddy at Ibrox.

Paddy McCourt was exceptional but also a booze bag who couldn't be arsed training. He spent his first year working on fitness before getting a game at Celtic and wasn't even injured.

Few of his goals are like ,wowwwww. Only if he could summon his inner Messi everytime he came to play .

If he played under Fergie he would have flourished
