If P4 gets a remake and it's not called Persona 4 Rewind I'm not paying it

If there’s something I would love for a Persona 4 remake to do, is to embrace the whole narrative driven murder mystery structure it goes for the majority of the main story. Like you mentioned, make the dungeons have more puzzles to solve and add more visual storytelling to them as a way of the player base have some thinking of its creations like reading a murder mystery novel or film. And for the Investigation Team legitimately feel like a true Investigation Team. They can still have the whole casual teenager fun stuff, but also make them feel like they want to protect more the town of Inaba, maybe adding more optional quests to solve random queries around town.

I don't want P4 with a P5 UI, I want Persona 1 with modern graphics and quality of life changes. Underrated game

The comments featured in this video really summarized my opinion. Megami Ibunroku and the Persona 2 duology really need a remake more than 4. Though Midori has claimed that Persona 4 would receive a remake in the future, so if that’s true, I’m excited for that! (Kanji and Naoto discourse when/if the remake drops will be at an all-time high lmao)

Considering the fact persona 4 got a rerelease,two anime adaptations,two fighting games, a rhythm game AND was featured in two persona spin offs.... at this point the remake is guaranteed whether we want it or not,especially after the success of persona 3 reload theyd be insane not to capitalize on not remaking their second most popular game ever and release it on all platforms

If Atlus were to make a remake, for Yukiko, the players might find cells that contain a huge volume of men or at least something that represents men since Yukiko is considered popular with the men and there would be men who would be desperate to be Yukiko's "Prince". Having gone back and played Golden, yeah, it needs remake. Turning the dungeons into something closer to P5's Palaces alone would be a godsend.

Persona 4 came out in 2008. It definitely deserves a remake to revamp the gameplay and enhance the graphics. Adding additional content also would better explain the world

I don't mind P4 getting a remake, I just think P1 and P2 should get both modern ports(akin to what P4G and P3P got) and remakes before it. They are much older than P3 and P4 and have no real viable official means to play the older versions and they aren't accessible. P3 also was in a weird spot because so many people wanted a definitive edition due to FES and P3P differences, granted we didn't really get that due to lack of FeMC and a few minor things that were cut or altered.

Persona 1 definitely needs one more so do to people loving 90s Japanese esthetic.

If Atlus announced "Persona 4 Remix! Coming November!" I definitely would be hyped. If they said "We were going to remake Persona 1 & 2, but decided to do P4 instead," I'd be pissed. Same thing if we found out Atlus pushed back Persona 6 in favor of releasing a P4 remake. It's about context. P4 is the one that "needs" a remake LEAST, but I wouldn't be against one if I knew the others were being worked on too, or if P6 was still on schedule first.

Personally i find persona 4 golden to be very easy to go back to. I don't think a remake is necessary per se considering the game doesn't feel dated at all with the exception of maybe the graphics and lacking some QoL features. I would definitely enjoy playing a remake but its not something I'd be losing sleep over. Persona 3 was definitely more in need of a remake considering it was definitely a bit more tedious to go back to (without even having a version people could call definitive).

As someone playing through Persona 4 golden who has 100%ed P3R and P5R atm my biggest issues are the lack of features introduced in p5 such as shifting and the ability to see shadows' weaknesses when hovering over them, rather than using the 'analyze' button each time. other than that, I have no complaints. I would like the P3R rewind system but it's not something necessary to introduce, just more of a nice to have than an annoyance like my other issues. Edit: Just went back into the game, I would also like kanji's dungeon music changed because it gives me a headache, I somehow blocked that out while writing this.

It's my favorite Persona so I'll wait however long it takes. Will probably go faster since P3 Reload has all the assets like the shadows already made

Persona 4 is like Resident Evil 4 when it comes to discussing a remake. RE4 was also a game many felt didn't need a remake, but thought would be cool to see in a new coat of paint, and we eventually got the RE4 Remake, and it turned out amazing. Persona 4 is kind of the same thing. It's inevitable we'll get it since it's the only Persona game not in the modern style that Atlus actually cares about (Sorry P1 and 2). I personally would love to see one and see all the improvements made, especially since it'd be after Persona 6 and probably cross-gen with PS5 and PS6, so there'd be even more improvements from the original compared to P3 Reload from its original. I also think it's more likely they'll make the P4 Remake the definitive P4 experience with the Golden content remade, since unlike P3 there is a definitive version already with P4 Golden.

I'd totally be on board for a P4 remake as well since it's also my favorite entry but I just really hope they won't recast everyone like they did with P3R, the VAs performance is a huge part of what made Yosuke and Chie my favorite characters in the series. Still, I'm optimistic Atlus can capture the original's charm when it comes to the graphics and UI.

If the game does get a remake, I hope they don't change the voice actors. I know they already did that (somewhat) when P4 got its updated re-release with P4G. And even then, though only changed a few. I know a lot of people disliked the VA changes in P3R, so I hope they keep the existing VAs.

I think p4golden is great, and I do think a remake would be awesome, but I would like to see remakes of persona 1 and / or 2 first as I've never played them.

I think it'd be awesome as a ui change for reach out to the truth to have a different instrument covering it when you get into different party members skill menus. I think I'd keep the instrument the same as in persona 4 dancing but it'd add some unique flair. Basically reach out to the truth would be sounding normal but when the persona is summonned from the menu the instrument associated with them will start playing, for example when Yu summons Izanagi (any pther persona too) Reach Out to the Truth will get covered by a guitar. I was thinking they could go the extra mile and maybe cover resch out to the truth with the instruments associated with the members of your party. Another cool detail imo would be if ghe music for the dungeons changed depending on your level, I don't think I'd want the song to be completely different, but maybe a remix if you're way overleveled. Im sure persons 4's menu is going to br crazy brcause persona 4 was already one of the nore aesticslly pleasing games even before the inevitable ui revamp, and I know the yellow silhouettes will be popping off too. I'm looking forward to the results theme innaparticulae, I still think it was the best one in the series it sounds so triumphant. I'm really interested in programming and I used to ( s3fill am but I mostly program different things) but I really pay attetion to UI design and small details in general. Edit: will fix grammar later but its a struggle now because mobile I think they could make the shadow world have a crt effect too and ehen you leave everything is normal for visual flair. I sefinetly want their to be clean all out attack animations (as expected) but I think they could use some tv effects too posibly tonadd extra flair to the attacks. Maybe they could use a filter to make some of the sounds lower quality to add to the aesthetic. I think similar to persona 5's gun special they should make stylize splash tedt appear, but we could potentially style it better. Genuinely hope the menu is as flashy ss possible maybe rven the buttons could have animations for example maybe all oht attsck isn't a thing thst interrupts the battle bht rather a animated flsshing button you hit in the menu to trigger it, adding a bit of aesthetic and getting rid of that cialog bix before. The persona 4 equivalent of therugy could be activated with a really flashy button, too. They could even do a play woth advertisemrnts sense we're in hummanities shared conscience we could have random ads that flash representing maybe the dungeon owners thoughts and stuff, or maybe durring strong attacks we could get them and cut back to the fight killing the enemy or finishing the all out attack. I think theyvahould be relativdly esre to increase that fesr fsctor but I think making them really realistic could add into the horror aspect kf thr gsme more, maybe we could even have the characters scknoeledge it like "what was that?" If we wanted to go the extrs mile we could make it so when Yu watches the midnight channel he could recieve ads and stuff occasionally represent the thoughts of the person he's watching to get extra spooky (mahbe Nanako would get a Junes ad).

i do like the idea of a remake but i also wouldn’t be surprised if the whole reason reload exists is because there wasn’t an easy way to play the non portable version of P3

It both needs and doesn’t need one bc I believe that the 1 and 2 deserves it way more but those two would have to be a reboot since the gameplay is dramatically different from the 3-5 games

My first persona game was royal then I moved to golden, I didn’t like the big jump however I got used to it and ended up loving the old style. The game has old sound effects, old graphics and hard gameplay (royal baby feeds you unlike golden). For someone who finished golden I would hate to see some things that I loved about he game be lost because of modernization, however it is welcomed (unless Marie is locked behind dlc).

If Persona 4 ever gets a remake, I guess that the development will take up to five years to finish including the story, the premise, the combat system, the characters the voiceovers etc. I say it will take five years, mainly because Persona 5 was in development in 2011 and it came out in 2016 and the same goes for Persona 3 Reload as it was first in development in 2019 and it came out in 2024. So it might be the same for Persona 4 remake. I could be wrong though.

Honestly if they did remake P4 the only 2 things i would really want changed are adding baton pass/shift (maybe even curse and bless skills that do damage too) and for them to actually design the dungeons. I dont hate randomly generated dungeons but it just kinda feels wierd in p4. Tarturus is more open and i dont mind it, but p4 is just pretty much straight hallways. My favorite parts of the p4 dungeons are the floors that actually are consistent and have a gimmick or puzzle.

I'd be happy just with the original version of P4G but one thing I would want from a potential remake is trying to mix the campy events with the pacing of the mystery. Sometimes the elements aren't paced well and it kinda threw me off at times. Loved the game otherwise tho. Also P1 and P2 need it more like everyone is saying lol.

P4G doesn't need a remake for a lot of the reasons people want it. It needs a remake to remedy its poor dialogue and narrative choices. P4 is a game originally made in the early 2000's. Even Golden being made doesn't clean up the mess that's in it. Kanji's ENTIRE dungeon, Kashiwagi's existence (sexy teacher), the consistent fat shaming with Hanako, Naoto's trope-y and poorly written background, a lot of Yosuke's uncomfortable or straight up offensive dialogue, the Devil arcana (nurse) and so on. P4 is beloved to me, and I actually think it holds up incredibly well to this day gameplay wise. I would rather see a P2 or P1 remake come first. Or at least ports. But I want to see a P4G remake so I can actually recommend it to people. It's difficult to tell someone after playing P5R to try P4G, because the poor choices from its time are so apparent. I would love to see the charm of P4G captured in a style like P3R. It would make for something really neat!

My biggesy concern is i loved the voice actors in p4, and due to time a remake will probably have different va's.

The problem with opening this can of worms is that we'll also inevitably get questions like: "But what about Persona 1, and Persona 2? Those need modern remasters as well." Which could put pressure on Atlus to be thinking backwards rather than forwards. Not to say I wouldn't purchase and enjoy those remade games, but If it comes at the cost of a brand new title, I think I'd rather hold off.

I agree to an extent that the dungeons could be expanded in some way however i think we had a convo about this actually lol for me p4's dungeon crawling is alot more combat focused and more of a fight to the boss i dont mind the idea of puzzles to get to extra chests maybe but p4 being remade this way would similarly to reload just be p4 in the image of p5 and for replayability and for the way how the tv world is explained amongst the anime and games is that even with the glasses the surroundings are still unclear so yes i do agree that the ideas of extra content regarding roomers about yukiko perhaps extra encounters with her in the castle where it explores topics such as the Amagi challenge, the amagai inn there is untapped potential in character exposition in these dungeons as the tv world is a manifestation of the collective unconsious im not fully sure on puzzles and each floor being pre determined would help this, i think a potential remake for p4 should take aspects from the manga 2 anime adaptations dancing and arena into consideration hint at narkami coming back to inaba within the epilouge, have characters social links introduced like how they were in the anime or have subsegments where we see diolouge between characters for example rather than being called out from class on a random day to help the health class have the protag meet naoki at the campout however keep him as a background character until that point than the campout doesn't feel like an anime filler episode other than that i think that a p4 remake would be cool but i hope that they dont make it a reskinned p5 with p4's story like reload

I think that not only will it get a remake, it'll be less criticized than P3R in regards to graphics, sound and writing direction due to how naturally louder P4 is. And I for one will go nuts when it's released

I like that old look, when its late at night and raining, that old look complements it well. But with all the new and advanced games, it seems a bit lacking. I wouldn't be opposed to a remake, especially if we can use that old grimey style

IMO I think a Persona 4 remake would be cool and would graphically bring it back up to modern standards. However I don’t want Atlus to go too crazy with new mechanics that can break the game like Theurgy. Just QOL changes that makes the experience better

Honestly as a die hard persona 4 fan I was originally against a persona 4 remake just because i feel p4g is a perfectly aged game 5 may have been my 1st game, but 4 is just extremely special and is something i want to be done right A remake im a lil more open to after seeing how well 3 is doing(plus i just want 4 to be relevant again) I pretty much agree with all your points however i feel they would only remake the original p4 and leave the marie arc as a seperate dlc campaign of sorts I wouldnt want that UI to change at all aside from just making it more vibrant and bringing back some of the cut content such as the yosuke romance arc would be great!!

I want a remake but mostly because I'm more broke than Yusuke and my best bet at playing it is getting a lucky game pass addition.

Persona 4 remake is coming out whether we like it or not.

It is unfeasible to remake Persona 1 and 2 along the lines of the other three subsequent Personas. They would be more similar to the SMT games than the Persona games themselves, as I don't see how to put calendar mechanics or social links into these games without drastically changing the story. I wouldn't be against a remake of the first two games, but I would much prefer a remake of Persona 4.

I would much prefer a P2 remake first, then one for P1. Tbh it's hard to justify a P4 remake right now. P4 Golden does not feel as dated compared to how P3 was. It would be nice but not a priority. I would actually genuinely be a bit angry if they said they chose to do a P4 remake first before P2 because I feel that it's unneeded. I replayed P4G recently, and it did not feel like it was necessary. Anyways, I'm repeating myself here. To sum it up, there are other things that should be priortized over a P4 remake.

I would love to see a Persona 4 remake, but don’t think the game needs it, at least not yet. I started the series with P4G and have never had any major issues coming back to this game despite the mechanics changes in other games.

P3R was my first time playing 3 and I decided to replay P4G afterwards, and enjoyed it less this time because of all the dated aspects. Having it brought to the level of modern Persona games would be great, and for the dungeons I'd take cues from Tokyo Mirage Sessions, kind of a middle ground between Persona 4 and 5

I also love P4G it really made exam break at the end of last year amazing best 2 months and January I've experienced. If we were to get a remake I would see it release +5 years from now as P6 is in development and then they'll probably have to do a re-release w/new fixes and content then we can get P4Rewind. Also they can't sell Golden content as DLC cz unlike the Answer golden content is attached to a social link you must complete b4 the end of the game aka Dec 25 so that's like saying "replay the game for 16hrs of more content and buy this overpriced DLC which might include the availability of third awakenings"

I fear for a P4 Remake because Atlus might try to pull the same BS with reload in downgrading the voice cast. I can totally see Troy Baker, Laura Bailey, and Marisha Ray getting the Axe for price and availability. Which would totally suck since Rise, Kanji, and Margaret are fan favorites for their performances.

Golden surpsingly holds up, but it's 1 more big persona game with a lot of good changes to needing the p3r treatment. I didn't particularly like p3r, but it's a really big step for the old persona games.

Quero muito que P4 remake seja um jogo onde a Atlus consiga expressar seu estilo artístico como fizeram com P5. A vibe dos anos 80 é algo que me agrada muito, até demais, porém, acredito eu, que por conta da limitação dos playstation 2 tiveram que cortar muitos elementos que poderiam estar presentes, tanto pra completar como pra adicionar, principalmente dentro das masmorras, digo isso porque a maior parte das vezes em que eu me via bocejando era justamente quando eu estava no progresso de explorar as masmorras e é por isso que eu concordo muitíssimo com o que foi dito no vídeo, sobre como poderia funcionar esse novo sistema pra lá. Infelizmente não tenho muito a opinar porque, além de ser péssimo na escrita, sou um jogador novato da franquia que ainda está experienciando o jogo, tenho um pouco mais de 40 horas jogadas, estou me divertindo bastante, está sendo incrível acompanhar toda a trama da história e o gameplay é encanador, só fico um pouco triste porque não há uma tradução oficial para o português brasileiro então eu tive que recorrer a uma tradução feita pela comunidade o que claramente distorce algumas falas dos personagens, o que pode acabar afetando um pouco na personalidade deles, mas acredito que com o remake isso pode mudar, P3 reload fez bonito e trouxe uma tradução localizada pra cá, espero que essa atitude continue daqui pra frente.

I believe that the most important thing for a P4 remake is a rebalance/rework of the bosses and the combat in general but that one is granted, P4 is the most simple one of the 3 modern personas combat-wise and the bosses are abhorrent time wasting damage sponges. Also there's a graphic issue with the P4G PC port that removes the fog in the TV and in some scenes, i'm not talking about *THE* fog but the fog that should render normally.

While a Remake for Persona 4 is potentailly happening some time in the nebuluas "F U T U R E" , what i want personally is a Persona 1 and 2 remakes. I never expected Atlus to bother remaking any of the Persona games and lo and behold Persona 3 Reload drops and we all love them for it. So I am at least a little hopeful P1 and P2 might be considered part of the Remake plan. If that actually does become a thing i vote for Persona 1 Revision(keeping with the Re theme) and Persona 2 Re-nnocent Sin/Reternal Punishment(or maybe just Revamp whatever works). The chances of any this happening is a long shot into the abyss because unlike 3 which at least had some assets thanks to Dancing Moonlight, P1 and P2 has NOTHING which would require more time and commiment for Atlus if that were to go into production.

This is my favorite game of all time! But I do worry a little how they would change the game remade… I already prefer ps2 P4 over Golden😂 Nostalgia might effect me buttttt I did play it in like 2015

tbh as a massive fan of 4 i dont think it needs a remake, Id welcome a remake, but it doesn't need it. at least not more than p2, I think a p2 remake should be done before a p4 one. I feel like the game doesn't have any glaring issues unlike p3 did before p3r, its in a pretty good place overall. but again if it DID get a remake id buy it, I love p4 and would love even more scenes with naoto.

I'm currently playing through golden for the first time and I've gotta say... This game doesn't need a remake. Like at all. It still looks and plays great. It's also on switch, PC, Xbox and PlayStation right now so like... It doesn't need to be remade for the sake of accessibility either. If the game does get remade then whatever. But there really isn't a reason.

I don't think I want a remake if it means a new cast. They game has an amazing cast in Golden, Arena, and the anime. I can't imagine anyone replacing the characters. I have a hard enough time watching Dancing in Starlight with Rise's new voice in that one.

Nah I would recommend my friend to do the same as me and start the persona franchise on persona 5 or royal. Reload has been fun a bit but it's pretty boring as someone who played persona 5 first the lack of things to do in comparison really affects my enjoyment.

Not really wanting much a remake, but I think there should be at least a touch-up of dungeon mechanics and also on Social Links, especially the Golden Hands, they're just annoying AF. Like they should at least wait 3 turns to run, also when they're down and ur nearby, u should be able to press a button (like triangle for PS4) to home in on them and start a fight. Then again, adding some puzzles also really emphasizes the Murder Mystery theme (though only adapted in P5 Vanilla & Royal so far). For Social Links, personally think that Dojima (Hierophant) & Nanako (Justice) should be just 1 SL (I mean their SLs overlap onto each other and even have the same Expression requirements), or even have all of their SL events be mandatory game cutscenes, and instead give their SLs to other characters, like I propose Aika Nakamura (the Aiya delivery girl who only appeared in P4 Anime) to be the alternate Hierophant arcana, and Taro Namatame be the alternate Justice arcana. Also, maybe Yumi & Ayane SL (Sun) can be made more like Kou & Daisuke SL (Strength), where u meet both throughout the SL (regardless of who u choose), but ultimately converge to each other, and then u decide who to romance in the end. Whether Atlus wants to do this in the already existing P4G, or a remake, I'll accept it
