Frustrated with your life v4 He was not content with the role God had given him and he wanted to be the leader. He thinks he needs to be in a place that he’s not. 2. Remains unrepentant. He was entitled and ignored his fathers discipline. Absalom believed leadership could not be trusted. 3. The absalomic spirit is a liar. Sowed seeds of devision that looked like leadership won’t listen to you. V3-4 When your ideas are not promoted by leadership, they get offended. 4. Assassinates the character of the true leader. Plays in the busy schedule of the leader. 5. Absalomic spirit are Master manipulators Disguises selfish ambitions as serving the kingdom. 6. Sows seeds of disloyalty. No matter how sincere he sounds, he is not your friend 7. Bent on leading the leader and proving the leader wrong. ABSALOM IS DANGEROUS! Does any of these describe me?
POWERFUL! And timely too. The story of Absalom helps me see how Sin can have a domino effect when not dealt with accordingly. In my sinful nature, I can struggle with bitterness - but this was really helpful to see that grace is the ultimate cure 🙏
Jesus as a man said I will build my Church Matthew 16! Jesus was God focused first, and man focused. Jesus was a Fisher of men. He would teach others to be fishers of men. So the two is needed. The issue is priority, which of these two come first, focus on God, then focus on man, to make disciples!
When you make a disciple, teach them to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. They are both important to teach a person in becoming a disciple. Then sin after baptism is not a focus for a real disciple, but a focus on living by the Spirit! Roman's 8! The Church Jesus would be builting is built on, seeking first the kingdom, and his righteousness. Make true disciples, John 8:31-32!
