Say what you will about how impractical or unrealistic the designs are in 40k, the fact that all the designs are recognizable regardless of media should be applauded.
Very interesting designs, and not ones we have seen before. The Strike Cruiser is the most instantly recognizable, but one that is clearly more oriented towards direct combat by virtue of its Bombardment Cannon and Primary Hangar being replaced by lances.* The Navy Cruiser seems based on the Dauntless Frame, but with its torpedo armament expanded and large banks of Light Macros like what you'd see on a Pre-Heresy Grand Cruiser; perhaps to maintain withering fire against such a large Force as a Tyrannid Splinter Fleet? Could the prow gun be a Nova Cannon then? * Which does make sense, given that the Battle Barge is pulling most of the troop transport duties for the Second Company of Ultramarines.
The 45 degree angle on the Navy cruiser's guns is also something I haven't seen before... at a guess, the idea might be that against an enemy coming from one direction, you can fire a full broadside and then only have to rotate 90 degrees across the bow to fire the opposite broadside at the same target while the other side's guns reload. And of course the Nova Cannon (if that's what the prow gun is) also sweeps across the target and gets a chance to fire every time this happens. A bit awkward, but it provides a somewhat viable way of bringing every gun on the ship to bear against a single enemy.
I mean not quite but the average Imperial cruiser is 5 km bow to stern, with the largest being upwards of 10 to 12 km and the smallest still being at least one to one and a half
Thant light cruiser design is quite funny since they re-used Dauntless Light Cruiser hull and add Hangar bay but put light macro battery model inside it lol
