The DETROIT ZOO 

he will... this is a special trip and i am trying to make the most o fit.

The Detroit Zoo (like many others) does a lot of work for conservation and preserving species that are dying out in the wild. Several years back, the Detroit Zoo gave its elephants to a zoo or preserve in California because they said they'd do better in that climate. They do put the animals' well being above everything else.

well thank Lisa, your not Matt but that is nice to know. problem is , where do you put species that were hand reared in captivity? The wild, nope. so where? a zoo. Very hard to put animals that were bred in captivity back in the wild, it has been done but lots of expense that most countries do not have.

Hey man… I get it. And actually I am glad you made this comment… because I am sure there are a few people here that feel the same way. I am going to reply to it like the supreme narcissist that I am. I made this vlog in a large part for myself. A way to capture my life so that my family and I can look back on it from a distance in the future and remember my life. I feel that my memory will be the first to go, as it already has started to, and I think it would be a shame to lose what I think to be a pretty interesting path I have chosen. I decided to do this project as close to daily as I could, so that I could not only capture the big moments, but the small ones as well. And there are many people out there that are interested in coming along for the ride. People interested in the life of an American overseas, raising a baby and balancing the desire for a traveling lifestyle… and a host of other subjects. I realize you are interested in the trike and the travel. But at the moment I am not on the trike… so you see what is happening in my life now… When I am back on the trike my “now” might appeal to you again. But until that time, you have to suffer thru the monotony of my daughter’s birthday, traveling all across the United States, introducing my Chinese wife to American customs and the boredom of not riding. I would like to think that on the spectrum of narcissism, I would find a place well below the Kardashians. To consider me “the pinnacle” of the phrase makes me question what I am doing. Just as I think I am capturing my life, for me and my family to look back on in the future, I have been able to expose many to what a life unlike theirs is like. And the more you know.. the more you grow. I don’t think I boast, brag, or claim to be overly righteous in my videos (much). I simple share my reality. A reality I am proud of. And as for the riding…. I do plan to carry on my traveling for the next 5-10 years, riding thru the world and balance my family as well. It’s a lifestyle. So the off road and on road will have to intertwine. If you just want to see the riding video, and still enjoy watching, I think you could join a group on facebook for recumbent trike riders. At the end of publishing every video, I try to share it with groups that are associated with what is inside each. So when I finish a riding video, I share it with groups that I think might find the riding interesting. The link below is for that group. Matt, thanks for taking me to the zoo with your family. I loved it. I also enjoy watching Eva grow up. I enjoy the trike tour as well. I was in Xiamen for two weeks and am just now getting caught up on your vlog. Jayoe.

I am impressed. A very thoughtful and compassionate reply. I respect your intention now that I know what it is. I will focus on the content I am interested in and ignore the rest. I do hope you get back to your world ride, but until then I will wait and watch the others on theirs. Thanks for being more patient and understanding than I am, I learned something today.
