@@VongolaSekundesThat’s no different from a game telling you to “turn back” when you’re outside the mission zone or area that you’re supposed to be in a mission. Most shooting games have this feature due to them locking you in a zone/area in which you are to complete a mission. If you stray too far from the mission you’re doing it results in a failure or automatic death, majority of the time.
If you are developing a game, you need to understand something: SOMEONE WILL TRY IT. It doesn't matter what "it" is, how unlikely, how difficult, how strange or how hidden; SOMEONE WILL TRY TO DO IT.
Plane has proper hitbox to stand on, which is not the general rule in Helldivers, Pelican for example on defend missions don't have collision put on the roof, you can't climb it and you go straight through it when you try to bypass this annoyance with strategem stairs.
@@Tenchigo100 I figure the joke it one of two things: The devs knew bc they kicked the idea around bc of we would and either made the Pelican as such though that the fullness of their follow through since the OOB will always be a killer -or- The joke is that they thought of so many other small details in the game that this never crossed their mind *but it likely did bc again of course we would* and the Pelican thing is just coincidence. It's either cheeky or ironic.
you're wrong its a collision border boundary and there isnt anywhere for it to spawn "float" the pawn on. Tell me you know nothing about game development without telling me for crying out loud
@@wisdom_save Maybe I should have worded my comment better. The non canned map boundary is what I am referring to not the actual initiation of the glitch itself. But creating a bounding or non bounding box for collision is what most AAA company's understand so therefore they knew someone would try it but had limitations and if they didnt expect it then they didnt set it up properly as to which a pawn couldnt attach itself to the ship. I was mostly talking about the end result.
@@JunkztrGaming I'm only half sure what you're saying but I think I understand. I think what most people including myself were referring to the drop-ship itself having collision.
You're not wrong, but it also seems to be pretty common in games to have a "layer" of water under the map that they just pull up to player level where they need bodies of water. (BOTW, Skyrim, etc.)
If there’s water in a game, most times it’s just a layer that spans the entire map and they’ll just deform the ground layer down to it. That’s why you’re always swimming when you glitch through the ground mesh in Ark etc..
water seems to be the default at the bottom of the entire level you can see the edge of the map right there, its a sheer drop in the terrain. we arent supposed to see that also, the water is already out of bounds, so it doesnt prevent out of bounds exploits
The outer bounds is treated by the traitor barrage mechanic. Which funny enough if you're able to dodge/outrun it'll tend to serve you better being in bounds to be a herald of death instead of staying out of bounds anyways. The water doesn't really serve as the big out of bounds wall, it's just there as a base to apply sea level.
Just Fuc... Freaking love all the game mechanics, dude even the jump to prone makes me want to play the game every day, I just stim - jump off a cliff back first - shoot while falling. And i never ever felt more badass in a shooter game. I will continue to do so for a very long time!
This would be a sick way of responding to SOS calls. If your extraction is nearby and you get an SOS you can respond to that and a Pelican will take you there
"Helldiver you are leaving combat zone" High command, I don't think they had a choice, the pelican could've stopped but it didn't, blame the pilot not the Diver
Ok wait… if you position this right and need to go back to extract, for example, it looks like a great way to blast across the map near instantly. Might actually have use
oh if you think that’s wild you should’ve seen what happened when I tried to demonstrate pelican 1’s visible damage physics to some friends I tried shooting him with the quasar cannon long before he landed and for some reason the moment he landed he tilted sideways and backwards causing the entirety of the area where you enter to go into the collision and make it so nobody could extract I felt terrible about that but then when the timer ran out and pelican 1 automatically left he pulled himself out of the collision flew to the right went up through the collision of another mountain and then flew off into the distance as you know what physics doesn’t apply to me anymore I have a recording of that moment
Landing on top of mountains seems like wasn't quite according to plan either. Some structures too you clip through half of it. Good strategy though, it's safe up high..
makes me laugh they made the drop ship a physical entity... so are the eagles by the way. you hapen to be airborn for any reason as ones coming past.. splat.
that would be coll cause you see other star ships using lasers and canons. it would be awesome if it was like gta and have like 10 at most just running a lobby and bot spawns and missions spawn on a timer but enemies will regularly spawn in so theres always something to do
