If you leave the game while still having a mission left in your operation, and the planet is lost; You can come back and still complete that mission. Logged out while still defending Marfark, and came back with a mission still to finish but the planet was under Automaton control. There were no other ships in orbit. So I did the patriotic thing, and finished that mission...
Same here, I was mid mission set on an automaton planet when they got "wiped" from the galaxy and only option was bugs. I was actually able to sit there and play the bots lol, might've been the only player there haha.
@@mr.rabbit5642 The devs at big studios have passion and imagination, it's the money guys who won't let them do anything cool with it. If they didn't have passion for making games, the companies wouldn't be able to exploit it for shitty pay and horrible working conditions, and the industry is literally built on that.
From what I've seen, the Stalwart, MG43, and Machine pistol have tracers mixed into their belts/mags at 1 tracer per 4 normal rounds, but the last 10% are all tracers.
I have a couple: In Automaton missions if there are Anti Airs around they will fire at your Eagles. Orbital strikes fire from the direction of your ship (usually from the center of the map) You can draw patrols or groups away with grenades or explosions as they will investigate the sound.
Yes I love the orbital strike one. I found that out cause of a loading tip actually but tested it out and love it Think I've seen a video where an airburst strike was like a few meters off of the stratagem ball and people deduced from the angle of fire they saw, its cause the op was on the edge of the map
See this is what irritates me. This game has so many beautiful qualities, but yet people complain and crap on nonsensical things. Stuff like this gets appreciated by the minority and its sad (imo)
yea, how dare people complain all the time about their game crashing non stop or enemies shooting through walls, certain weapons useless because their damage source isn't working or insta killed by unintended bugs. people are so unfortunate entitled for a game they paid for expecting it to work makes no sense!!!
OP said crap and nonsensical. Like wanting some OP weapons to retain its status quo and PvP. The ones you listed are plausibly valid reasons. Stop being silly.
@@kidd4551 They complain about the weapons not being all-powerful like they want them to be rather than getting good and learning that each weapon serves a different purpose, bring the right tool for the job you plan to do rather than expect a Sonic Screwdriver. AKA as the devs literally said to the complainers getting mad at their preferred but now nerfed weapon, "sounds like a skill issue."
First time i saw the "Retreat order issued" was on Malevelon creek, it was kinda painful to see it... But I was there when i saw "Planet Liberated" too... Stand tall, Helldivers.
Well yeah, Super Earth doesn't bother taking the time to properly zero the optics on a weapon whose wielder is likely going to die minutes after dropping.
@Ariana321 Aren't the helldivers like... Super Earth's ODST's? Best of the best? I mean, I think they'd share a score/theme in 'We're the desperate measures'.
The chambering one is so important with the Eruptor. It is technically just another semi auto that uses the bolt action chambering animation, which matches up in time with the minimum delay between shots, to cosplay as bolt action. The 2.4 second long bolt action chambering animation only has to execute if there is nothing already chambered. It is just filler during the 2.4 second minimum delay between shots at other times. So you can reload when you still have 1 or more rounds left in order to make it not necessary. (And if you reload with 1 round left then there is no wasted ammo.) Leaving only the 2 second magazine switch step of the reload. So the weapon effectively has no reload time if played right since the magazine switch can happen within the usual minimum delay between shots. Also you can just switch to another weapon or toss a grenade or whatever instead of actually playing the bolt action animation between shots. If they do end up nerfing the Eruptor, this behavior is probably the part that would most warrant it. Make it actually behave like a bolt action instead of the cosplay thing they have going now. Just have to make the bolt action animation mandatory in addition to the shot delay timer in order for the next shot to be able to fire. Also, the fact that the Eruptor is actually just another semi auto that happens to use a cheap trick to pretend to be bolt action is an unusual Arrowhead L on this topic. As exemplified by videos like this.
Very important to be able to shoot an eruptor shot, switch to another weapon or throw a grenade, then switch back to the eruptor with no need to do the fake bolt animation. Very much deserves to be fixed, I can't imagine it's intentional
There's an opposite to the retreat order at the end there. I was at estanu and logged in to be ordered to a new system because valient helldivers repelled the vile bug scourge
They all have this yet we can’t reload turrets for some reason Edit: after reading these other comments. I do not think we should be able to reload turrets.
@@markiplieristhebestpizzato2743Walk up to them with a supply pack and reload them like you would a squadmate. Maybe they could have it take up two supply boxes to balance out them getting more ammo. But then again, it's not like it would give the sentry turrets more health or anything. Doubt much balancing would need to be done.
To be fair, the Stalwart is an open bolt weapon system. So even if the belt isn't finished, and you load a new belt you'll still need to rack the charging handle to the rear.
In the first game the grenades from the handheld launcher and the sentry could hit ejected shells from your guns and thrown stratagems. Had to be careful going full auto close to them ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-036durtV_cE.htmlsi=K7L72DGFwtMAeSTY
Because I'm a gun nut, the location of the Stalwart magazine feed disturbs me. An AK it makes sense to reach around and pull the charging handle on the right side. For an LMG, since most people are right handed, it makes no sense to have the feed on the left and reload like that. Why reach over the gun for the magazine, instead of putting the feed on the left for easier feed access and a slightly faster reload? Just a small nitpick on my end for the loading method and gun design.
@@OOZ662 IKR? Helldivers 2 is good in so many details, but some gun designs make no logical sense. The same goes for some reload methods that could be simplified.
From your ship, you can sometimes see blue and red stratagem markings on the planet below. Friendly destroyers will actually launch pods and orbital strikes accordingly to the stratagems.
1:00 Depending on how dirty that flamethrower's flame is (and given the flame is visible, it's not very clean), there should be black marks being left on the ice even if it doesn't leave a flame. Source: Me being a bit of a pyro as a kid.
The nice thing is most of these probably took fairly little dev time to actually do... but they took SOME, and they took care to actually think up and implement, and not just half-ass it. It shows that during development they cared about quality, and not just meeting deadlines.
When players destroyed the Meridia Terminid supercolony, Players on the planet at the time or who where offline were given a notification for an "Emergency FTL jump" and were returned to Super Earth upon rejoining the game. The planet is now a black hole.
IIRC the machine guns are actually open bolt so there is no "Round in the chamber" the gun is just still cocked from the previous reload. other guns like the base AR actually do get +1 for their reloads on partial reloads
Hey, cheers for slowing and zooming on where you wanted our attention. Absolutely hate people who expect us to repeat a clip 50 times to catch something shown sometimes too quick for the rest of us.
So, does that mean napalm airstrikes fall behind gas orbitals on cold planets, while they’re more comparable on other planets? Additionally, does fire burn longer on hot planets?
I closed my session while in meridia and there was the retreat thing but it also said emergency ftl jump or smth because the major order was completed and meridia turned into a black hole
Ah yes because this is the stuff that matters.. 🤦🤦 none of this matters when the game crashes, people kick you when they want, weapons are unbalanced, enemies aren't fun to fight against, missions types are stagnant etc.
Немаловажная деталь. Если стрелять из оружия и начать его перезаряжать и потом прервать анимацию перезарядки, то патрон останется в стволе и можно ещё раз сделать выстрел. И потом уже дозарядить оружие.
Meanwhile, we cycle the bolt on the Eruptor (a bolt action rifle that fires micojets that have no case to eject) after the last shot has been fired....
On the chambering thing If you have ammo left, reload your weapon but then fire before the reload is complete, you can still fire that one bullet in the chamber even if there's no magazine in the gun
i always wondered why it was so difficult to get it to work in game. Until you realize it probably wouldn't be great if you are mid fight and you throw a snowball at a hulk instead of shooting your recoilless.
Unless they changed it recently, the sky being cleared of ships was due to being logged in without starting a mission for about 2-3 hours not because the planet was taken. logging out and back in will fill the sky back with ships even though the planet should have no combat. that would also be why there are burning wrecks, they are the last of the ships to blow up for you.
The Stalwart technically shouldn't work like that, but it depends on how the internal mechanism works. In order for the belt to be fed into the system, most guns would need the first bullet from the new belt to be chambered. That being said, I was never a machine gunner IRL.
what i love is that instead of makng the senator reload faster, like add 25 percent to the speed multiplier. no. they added a fucking speed reloader, a little item yoyr character uses to reload the whole magazine when the gun is empty because it doesn’t use a spring feed magazine, but a revolving chamber
I see no big words, so in all probability, either someone who doesn't speak English as their first language, or AI script. But that's something you'd do for when the text is... plentiful. So yeah, probably bilingual non-native English speaker.
my favorite detail is when i reload my gun and i fire one shot then my character starts reloading for no reason, or the other neat detail where enemies walk under the terrain and start to hit you through the ground and you cant fight back
That usually means you interrupted the reload with one in the chamber. You fired off the round in the chamber but didn't give it enough time for the new magazine to get inserted
