Being born in Belfast and lived in Cookstown for 4 years, I think Brad Pitt nailed it. He's listed with having a crap Irish accent? We don't all talk like leprechauns. He could pass for a Northern Irish man any time.
@@greengrugach1984 A River Runs Through It (1992) I have seen it and it's a great movie too. Its been years since I last saw it but great film overall 👍🏻
The story of two very young men who were noticed by the studios simply because they were incredibly handsome: the first young man was picked up and given the full treatment "we'll make you a star" and he turned out to be a big marquee name but a really crappy actor. His name is Tom Cruise. He plays Tom Cruise in every movie he ever made. The other young man was Brad Pitt. Pitt learned his craft and honed his skill and became, not only a huge marquee name, but an incredibly fine actor worthy of the name. This movie (and this accent) is just one of so many he has made that highlight his amazing skill.
Your blood's like winter freezes just like ice. And there's a cold and lonely light that shines from you, you'll wind up like wreck you hide behind the mask you use.
Jack Ryan meets Tristan ludlow. Ironic because both movies clear and present danger and legends of the fall were made the same year in 1994 and music was composed by the late James Horner like this film. Also this is the second Harrison Ford film where he’s up against the Irish Republican Army, the first was patriot games and that also had James Horner music.
The IRA did lead Ireland to independence, just not the North. Back in ‘72 Ivan Cooper led the non-violence campaign in hopes the British government would end the persecution of their community in Northern Ireland.
@@oioi-xq3rg WHAT?! The IRA were fighting and killing and dying,to win basic human rights,in their own country The British were fighting and killing and dying,to DENY basic human rights,in a foreign country. Not like the IRA were killing protestants in France or America,a lot of IRA men were protestants. No Britain in Ireland= No IRA
@@oioi-xq3rg The continental army would be considered terrorists nowadays, history is written by the victors, had the English won the one's fighting for freedom would have been labeled extremists and usurpers
Replay the same exact lines Brad Pitt says in this clip. Now close your eyes and imagine a black man saying those words. This is the reality for black people in America.
it wasn't at all necessary or even appropriate to inject american social issues and the subject of Black disenfranchisement into the context of a scene from a film which relates to The Troubles, a very real and quite serious issue of its own that still persists today. it's almost as if you're implying that POC's historical injustices in the u.s. can now completely and retroactively outweigh or outclass any other social issues/conflicts from the rest of the world, in regards to relevance. such an implication would be ridiculous and awfully anti-intellectual. and this is exactly why we'll never solve our problems here in america, because stupidity runs far too amuck and far too deep within far too many people - even those with good intentions who also, unfortunately, possess frustratingly myopic perspectives.
omg will you people stop? like what did you expect? a perfect irish accent from someone who's grow up in Oklahoma? brad even stated in an interview that accents are not his strength. also to non-irish people like me it sounded fairly believable
