I like their old music but I like their new music more because it sounds a lot more mature.

Finally Mike explains the concept behind the new style of vocals. I know some people are not feeling them as much, but I've been stoked on them for the sole reason he explained: There is so much more raw emotion in his screams. The tired, beat down feel of them reflects what he is singing and adds some depth to the songs that was never there before in the earlier efforts. So pumped for 8:18

I actually like the vocals more now

This record is very raw and real for me and I feel God has always been that reason for living. My family doesn't really like this kind of music cause they think its just pure noise, maybe so maybe not but I feel that with this kind of music God allows me to express myself emotionally just through singing, and this album 8:18 and their new Space EP records have really been helping me alot to find my place with God in life just by living for Him and not living to please anyone else anymore. Great job on the album TDWP and keep sharing your faith and music with the world!

I love his vocals. Even the new ones. His voice just sounds real and you can feel the emotion in the songs. Love it or hate it. Listen to it or don't listen to it.

8:18 could have been so much more. I'm so mad they didn't utilize Chris' hauntingly angelic voice and Jeremy's masterful drumming that were exhibited in their cover of Down with the Sickness. Tis a shame.

If anyone is wondering the lyric at 3:00 is "The narrative is unending." Which plays at about 1:34 on the song Rumors from the album 8:18 (obviously).

I saw The Devil Wears Prada live before they ever even had Jeremy. I was there at their first shows. I know this band. Plagues is great but it is largely immature effort from some kids. The later material is music made by real musicians. Real songwriters. It is superior in every fucking way.

but I feel it is a more well rounded approach. Obviously I respect your views on the matter and will not throw out insults like some on here would. Well, unfortunately it seems YT has gotten to the point where it is so large as to be almost unmanageable. I feel ya there. It sounds like you must produce really sterile music.. Its not about giving them the most compressed polished record.. its about passing on that emotion they are feeling through these songs.. Provideing more "raw or real songs" as you quoted doesnt tranish the record.. and it sure is a hell of alot harder to record, and get all emotion across. so thouse fans will be like hey its like there playing a show in my room, or where ever you listin to it.. Its not pop music. Its Metal. Just sayin

I absolutely agree with that sentiment, but he states in the video around 2:25 that people will think his voice cracked...I'm not a fan of that style of vocals. Mike is so good at the growls and the screams, but when he yells the lyrics, it just sounds 'half-assed' (all the respect in the world for what they do, but just my thoughts). However, it's good to be reminded to wait until you've experienced something before passing judgement. Thanks Matthew!

If every song is breathy and voice cracky, I don't think I can take much of that. It sounds lazy. If you want to make good music, do it. don't blame it on 'wanting to be in the moment' and 'really feel the music'; make a good take that doesn't make us think you are losing your voice. I can't stand all this 'i want it to feel real' or 'we HAVE to do something different'. Make good music, perfect it, and record it. don't set out to do voice crack takes; it doesn't pay off in the end.

"Dinehs D'suza" check out Dan Dennett he has a Debate against D'suza....but Alas Both D.Ds Arent equal.... Dan is a monster when it comes to knowledge, Insight, thought processes, and generally everything.... The man is a must for any Gnostic Atheist.... I don't think it's "weak and tired" so much as Mike decided that on the records from Dead Throne forward he would try to sound as close to live as possible, so they don't seem like they are bad (which they aren't) when they tour....

don't make judgements till you hear the record, I think he's saying his vocals are going to sound more raw and less produced, which is great if it suits the style, he sounds pretty good on the track they put out a couple days ago

The album is done. This was filmed in the studio so it must have been 3 months or more ago. He probably was thinking this was gonna be released sooner

That album was awesome, but I'm not a fan of the production... It's just too glossy. But, whatever, some people like that sound.

Gotta appreciate a band that won't let their religion or spiritual beliefs turn their music into crap, but instead use it to turn their music into something inspirational with both lyrics and killer metal aspects. Good music.
