Great tutorial. I was able to pick up on the song really quickly. I really liked seeing that Loop section for the first part of the song, but it would have been nice if you had done that for each section. I was able to learn the first part much faster from seeing all the notes laid out in a row like that. But still a great video!

Best tutorial! Haven't picked up a violin or cello in 30 years but you made it ridiculously easy to learn to play this. Other videos people made were so much harder to follow. Keep it up! I can't wait to learn more!

A couple of clicks on the computer, and I meet up with you. Grab some manuscript paper and my guitar, and 45 minutes later I've got it. Not up to speed yet, but that will come soon enough. Excellent teacher. I don't have my fiddle yet, but I like that you put tape to show us where your fingers are located and the picture of where you put your finger(s) up in the right-hand corner. I don't know if you comment or if anyone would see this but as you take the bow up and down I notice it doesn't always go straight up and down it might go towards you or away from you does that also change the sound or is it because you're playing a chord and you're having to go across all of the strings?❤ from West Virginia

I've been playing fiddle for 4 days. I'm doing good because I've played guitar for 27 years. But I really need help with the position of the tape. Can you please tell me where you have your 3 pieces of tape at? Is it on the whole notes, or sharps and flats? I can use a tuner and find the notes on each string. I just don't know, when you says 2, 3, low 2, what note that is. Can you please help me and tell me where your tape is at, what notes.

You know a violin reminds me of a chessboard. Each area is numbered with the piece to be moved. Instead, you have to learn how to move your fingers on the correct spot while using a bow. 😊

Hello! I'm extremely extremely new to the violin, and I wanted to give myself a fun challenge! I like your videos, the speed that you go at, however I was confused at first listening to the riff you played cause the way it's played in the song is very ambiguous. I had to search around other tutorials to see if they were playing the same thing at a higher speed so I knew it was the right thing. I definitely would recommend explaining any discrepancies like this to viewers as it is helpful :). Thank you!

Is A0 and E0 a strum witg the bow on an open string? Have I got that concept correct? Also how do you know what note a low A2 is? That doesn't match on a pitch pipe. Where is it on the piano? Please?

For the third line, when you do the animation you have the second C as a C sharp. (You have it as 2 instead of low 2)

Thanks for posting this! My guitar buddy has been suggesting I learn this tune. I'm 7 months into the fiddle, haha! For the tabs, your fourth line has a D0, but we should already assume we're on the D string, so don't need that, right? Same thing on the second line (E0 E0)...not a big deal, but just to make sure I'm not missing something. Also, is there not an open D at the end of line five? It's written as ending on the G string...
