Nickelback's heavier stuff is pretty dope, they're just known for the gei pop songs that made the charts. Their most recent album (Feed the Machine, 2017) is one of my favourite albums, and the title track, plus "Coin for the Ferryman" and "Must Be Nice" are proper good tracks. It doesn't surprise me that they covered this actually, cos the bassist said he wanted to go in a more heavy metal direction, or wanting to do an album of Slayer covers.

If Nickelback sounded like this, I’d actually listen to them. This was pretty good. Edit: Ive actually started to like them. They actually are kinda good unlike what most people think. They actually slap.

I won’t lie I’ve always enjoyed nickelback’s music. This is no different.

I’ve always been a Nickelback fan, it was my childhood. Hearing rockstars or bullet just brings back so many memories from fishing in the sea, screaming Fish on, the fight to get that fish to the surface. Nickelback will always be one of those bands I will love for the memories it gives me

Honestly, this cover was pretty sweet! To be fair, their cover of We Will Rock You was quite spot on, but this cover with the lyric changes makes it a whole lot more cooler than the original! I don't know what else to say, so to anyone reading this, have a good day!

I'm glad I clicked on this video. It led me down the path to connecting my favorite guitar to my PC. Didn't know that Wii adapter existed.

I have a higher opinion of Nickelback than most, but this still caught me a bit by surprise. I didn't even know that they'd done a cover of this until guitarheroROXS AKA aWiseMoose accidentally trolled us by doing this on RB4 but failing initially to clarify that it was the Nickelback version or that it was on RB4.

Everybody gangsta until Nickelback covers a song in metal. This ain't even the first time they sounded like this. What peaked my interest is them jamming Sad But True live that one time.

As much as I love listening to people playing fast, and I loved the contrast between the devils solo and johnny’s solo, I think the lead guitar players tactic of fiery fingers right out the gate of the song, starting with the tapping, actually hindered the other solos in the song. The tapping and sweep picking was cool and sounded good, but I wanted to hear some kind of interest curve for those solos. Steve omiette does an amazing devil solo in the original cover, and the space he leaves at the start really makes the faster stuff more incredible I think. Also did anyone else feel like there might have been a few “odd” notes in johnnys solo or was it just me. I’d have loved to have heard what this guitar player could have done if he slowed down a little bit and built up to the face melting bits.

Didn't know what to expect when I went into this video. So I said "Alright. let's see what they did here." Because I am kind of a Nickelback fan. I'm now considering getting an album or two after hearing this. This cover, though it was short, was not bad. It was actually pretty good.

how he does it is really good. cant say I'm much of a Nickelback fan myself but I have to agree that's one of the best Nickelback songs I have heard.

It was "okay", but not AMAZINGLY okay. The lyrics change was a nice touch, but it felt like it lacked something (apart from the chorus). Could have extended Johnny's part a bit more without having to go into silly territory like the GH version (not saying that the GH version is bad). Overall, an "okay" considering it's a Nickelback cover.

This biggest reason that no one knows about these type of songs by Nickelback is because none of it makes it to the "mainstream" radio charts. They have half and half albums. stuff like "photograph" makes up a chunk of it. But then there is also typically another half of the album that never gets any playtime from anyone. So no one who would like the "heavier" side of nickelback ever even thinks to look for it.

There are quite a few covers of Devil Went Down to Georgia that replace the fiddle with a guitar. I remember hearing a custom song in the GH2 days that did the same.
