That is how i explain Art vs. Design for me/costumers: Design is the way users communicate with a Product, Art is the way Artist is communicating with the viewer.

Dude I love your channel and I've literally watched every video you've produced in the past 6-8 months....Your advice and constant vlogging has seriously increased my knowledge of design, business, life....hell you are full on a mentor to me and don't even know! I legitimately start EVERY DAY listening to your videos. If you haven't uploaded a new one then I just rewatch an old one and move on to The Futur's page for new content. Please never stop this, and if it becomes too much to deal with (like editing, graphics, or anything) then I offer as much of my time as you might need to keep things going!

design is not separate from art.

Art: the (personal) expression of the product of the author's (artist's) imagination. In other words, it is the communication of an idea by means of a material medium. Design: the production of solutions to problems; it is the process of defining that (as well as its properties, such as its aesthetics, operation and structure) which is intended to be available for solving a given problem. There you go.

As you said, this is your kind of art, it is not your job. You make this videos to connect with people, inspire them, giving some useful tips... And (at least me) I appreciate that! I've learnt new tools and designing tips and, lets say, in an interactive way, not like a tutorial thing. Keep going with the contents that make you happy and comfortable, because if not, you will get bored! PS: You can't like everyone, but you can give those that like you some good stuff :)

Hey Ran... I am also working on a quote idea that I have for long time ago... I saw yours and actually was very inspiring.. Mine is between a website and a online book... But I am wondering. Do you have any issues with the copy rights of the pictures of the characters (Babe Ruth, Kurt Cobain, etc) and also. Do the quotes have copy rights as well?? Any advice would be good... I found a lot of projects about motivational quotes but as I have this idea for a long time a go and I just want to do my own interpretation of it and a small contribution of positive thinking. I'm majoring in Graphic Design, junior, and I am recently very frustrated because I don't think this road is for me... I would have to say I am sensitive person who likes to express things but I don't really get to do those things in GD. Doing what my boss tells me to do, isn't really my thing :( I still tried to do GD because I will be paid better in future but in this point, I am having depression and anxiety for doing what I am not wanting to do.. If I can, I want to change my major but I'm Junior now and I will be senior soon so I'm too late to change the major u know... I'm thinking of doing fine art with graphic design... do you think that's possible? using digital tools to create graphics but creating what I want to do, instead of working for someone else.. musiclifeg.com I would love to have feedback from you.

The majority of people think ‘visual design’ when they hear ‘design’. Visual design is artistic in the sense that you apply decoration rather than considering the functional aspects. I read a very good quote by Adam Morse (@mrmrs_ on Twitter) this week about this topic: “Design is just problem solving within a set of constraints. In the grand scheme of things, it rarely has anything to do with graphics.”

Hello Flux. I know this is kinda old video but I wanna know what do you think about video game? Is it art or design? What about music inside the game? How about the "concept artist" inside the development team? I don't really see them as artist because even though the game is developed by their own team and with their own vision, the "artists" needs to accomplished what the creative director or the director wanted.
