Thank goodness for you I’ve been researching no one tells everything. Please know how helpful this was I’m getting two strands now!! Will follow up with my new loctician thank u
My 3rd go around I got done with crochet needle for my hair texture does great. The second time was done with back comb. The second day it came out. I'm almost 2weeks in with crochet needle and after 2 washes they are staying.
Many years ago- My first set of locs I started by two strand twisting my natural hair and then put kinky twist over them- These were starter locs. Once my hair grew I took the kinky hair off and just wore my own hair. There was a difference in textures so I know that there was no remaining synthetic hair left in . It is possible to start locs this way.
It is when it’s installed correctly and the right hair is used but overtime, it weighs down on the hair and can cause thinning depending on the persons hair texture and density. So this isn’t an option for everyone unfortunately.
I started my locs with instant locs, and my loctician always retwists my hair with a crotchet needle. But I don't like it, is it okay to switch my retwisting method to palm rolls or another thing
I really want to stop relaxing my hair but being loose natural is way too much work for me. I want my hair to be long and that comes w like 45min detangling time. Is it better fully transition before getting locs? Or is it fine to just loc up my permed hair w instant locs? My hair is almost at my lower back but also pretty fine.
When washing starter locs in 2 strand twist should I keep the hair braided together and let it air dry? Or is it safe to take apart and let it air dry?
You can’t have starter locs with loc extensions if that’s what you’re implying. If you choose to start your locs with loc extensions, then they’ll no longer be “starter locs”…they’ll be loc extensions…
You can cut your extensions off later on down the line when your natural hair has fully grown out and is mature enough on its own…but as far as starting off with extensions it’s not possible and defeats the whole purpose of “starter locs”. Starter locs are created with your natural hair only, nothing added.
I meant if you wanted to start your loc journey, you can start with loc extensions. I’m sure they would use a different method but you can start your loc journey with permanent extensions
@@locdbywanna but you mentioned the methods of starter locs (comb twisting and two strand twist) Interlocking is also a method, that’s what he’s asking.
I mentioned the methods that I use, comb coils and two strand twists. I don’t use interlocking as a starter loc method for different reasons. And he never mentioned interlocking for starter loc methods…….he just said interlocking……which can be either or.
